- Today I went for a ride to determine what elevation the snow was still blocking roads in the forests to the north of me. Looks to be right at about 5,500ft in the next week or so a lot of terrain is going to open up and that's exciting.

Snow looked a lot higher than that on the southern exposures out off of Arrowrock last week. Could be wrong. Going out Monday to see if I the pass to IDCity is clear or at least rideable.
yeah i went over to rabbit creek and it doesn't open until May 1. I had forgot about that. The Idaho City side still had lots of snow up over the pass from what i could see. Hopefully some 4x4s open it up this next week.
Do you mind saying what road that is? It's bugging me trying to figure it out. Looks familiar. I was north of Ola last week and ran into snow on my 890.
Why turning back? It's adventure bike. What about the rider?
Because I have broken ribs and collapsed a lung in the middle of nowhere solo before.
