I was just impressed the jet ski person had their tailgate down and pulled down really straight and quickly. Then just basically got the job down without escalating the situation.
Regardless of the circumstances, Jet ski guy handled it with class.
@@chasbodaniels1744 Pains me to say it, but he handled it better than the other guy.
Boater acted like a male Karen.
The guy in the GMC was a jag. The guy in the Ranger was the bigger man
I swear Ford drivers are normally never jerks. GMC are bad but dodges is the biggest A$$
the dude in the white truck clearly saw the Jet Ski sitting there waiting to load. Dick move to block the ramp.
Jet ski guy was a dick, he should have tied off at the end of the dock so others could load or unload while he screwed around going to get his truck. 3 boats if crewed properly could have pulled out in the time it took him to go get his truck.
True, also a dick move to leave your jetski at the very front on the launch. With such a nimble small watercraft...
At least at our local launches, the line is established by the queue of trucks on land, not boats tied up.
Yep the jetskier took the high road, good for him! All launches have this same problem. Maybe more courtesy docks would help?
Or just more courtesy? 🙄
Kudos to the Toyota for letting the ski pull out without further drama.
You totally missed the fact that the guy who backed in too far. Also never unstrapped the boat from the trailer. The trailer was floating the whole time.
Agree! Way too deep because he kept expecting the boat to float off but it couldn’t with the straps on!
I saw that too.
Some here. Way too much time spent on who had the right away instead of more time on the idiot backing his boat too far in and with tie-down straps still connected.
Boat owners need to take a tip from the aviation world, where many mistakes can be fatal- use a checklist. Miami boat ramps videos would be a lot less entertaining if boat owners all used a checklist: load supplies, approach ramp, insert drain plug, remove straps, _etc._
yep. saw that one coming.
Courtesy dock is for the people launching. Launch and dock. when returning dock at ramp get your truck and load.
Years ago our Georgia sailing club visited another club in South Carolina for a regatta. Come time for hauling out and they had a strange routine. Whoever was tied up IN the ramp was next in line. So they want you to pull your boat into the ramp, then hike to get your truck and trailer. And being a visiting club, my truck was parked along the road leading to the club so it was quite the hike... Like 10-15 minutes! Everywhere else I visited, you tied up outside the ramp and the order of the trailers determined who hauled out next, which keeps the ramp active and not waiting on "hikers". Well, that was the first and LAST time visiting that particular club.
Even the birds know a good show when they see one at the Dock Blocker!
If there's no dock available, wait. If you must, tie up at the very end , so others can still launch.
Love your show thank you!
I have been out of boating (21 ft) Potomac and Chesapeake Bay for 50 years. Never heard of a courtesy dock back then, I guess it's the latest.
Get rid of the courtesy dock. It only causes this sort of frustration and confusion. If all the ramps are full, you wait out in the water.
I backed a 31’ Brave down a long steep freshwater ramp on a busy weekend in between two other RVs and then grabbed my boat from the end of the dog and trailered it without any problems. Watching some of these crybabies makes me laugh. Plenty of room and just trucks to back down a short ramp, try that in an rv on a long ass ramp with multiple RVs in the slots and you have one slot to get your trailer in or you wait. Some people can do it and other just can’t take the stress. My dad taught me how to back in the trailer when I was about 14 so by the time I was driving I never had an issue. It’s all about taking the time to learn how to back in the trailer, then getting proficient in launching and trailering. Great videos, keep ‘em coming.
Did you not see his straps were still on as he backed up and tried to launch !
If Patience is a Virtue there can not be many virtue's people at the boat ramp
Are we not going to talk about the guy at 5:00 that still has his rear tie downs attached?
So that's why the boat went with him when he pulled away.
In my opinion a courtesy dock is for loading and unloading your boat this jet ski has possession of the dock and the white truck should have to move, if he had his trailer in the water and the jet ski showed up then he would have possession of the dock no one knows the intent of boats/jet skis tied to the courtesy dock.
No, at a busy ramp you should move your boat out of the slip unless you're actively launching or retrieving, so other people can use it. Experienced people can get a boat on/off the trailer in maybe a minute or two at most, it's impolite to tie up the slip and make everyone wait if you don't have your trailer on the ramp. I usually have someone in the boat and someone else in the truck, we're on and off the ramp in under a minute. It's so frustrating pulling up, knowing we can be in or out in under a minute, only to have to wait for some inconsiderate person tied up to the dock blocking the ramp.
@@8180634 Sorry but every dock works this way, it takes two seconds to get your trailer and if your tied to the dock it's under your possession and the boater should have waited for any dock to clear as you say it only takes a minute to load or retrieve it was rude to block a possessed dock space period. By the way the dock to the right is clear so why block the one in use, also on a busy day there may not be space at the courtesy dock and not all marinas even have a courtesy dock and if you listen to the commentary this guy in the white truck launched his boat and tied off to the ramp dock as he went to park.
@@JP-ou8yb no, many ramps have single file lines and the guy who went to get his trailer is stuck in line, while his boat is blocking a ramp. This is how every ramp in my area works. Courtesy docks are for parking, ramps are for in/out.
@@JP-ou8yb Ignorance like this is why where are problems at the dock. You are wrong
@@8180634 If that is true then why did the same guy with the boat tie off at the ramp dock to go park was the courtesy dock full like I said most ramps don't have one and tying off is necessary, regardless the dock is still occupied, and he should have found a clear one. As for your single file line NO those retrieving are let passed to clear the dock for the launching, Blocking an occupied ramp is selfish and impatient and guaranteed to start conflict.
I love that little white... pirate ship thing.
Issue might be someone that doesn't use that ramp very often. Most ramps are first trailer takes it, and you bring the boat in to the trailer from holding, or tied dockside somewhere, or whatever. Here, because there are so many docks but so little room beyond them, it's the reverse, and it is first docked boat gets that ramp. This confuses people used to the other more common way.
The red boat that beached itself also looked like they broke their skeg off.
The guy is wondering why the boat has no 4x4, like his manly truck.
There really ought to be park rangers (or whatever entity supervises ramps) stationed at the ramps issuing tickets for improper use of the ramps. Make strict rules about docking at the ramps and enforce them.
Yes, thank you, I don't think we have near enough laws, rules, or authorities.. I recommended full police state! Instant jail for doing anything you or I don't like! People are absolutely incapable of governing themselves, that's why we need more people, to control the people around us, because people are inept....
Yes, you're on to something!
But, for the sake of efficiency, and I'm kind of lazy, we can just arrest people at their houses if there's a boat in the driveway
Yes, more government should do the trick.
Doug.....don't be a karen
I agree! For the most part our problems are pontoons that people rent out. They sit on the docks for 20 mins waiting then 10 mins loading. And we only have two docks
I thought the courtesy dock was for dropping off and picking up extra people.
Also where you are supposed to put your ski or boat while you go get your trailer. ie being courteous to those launching or retieving
Damn generation of entitled people, they are special- only in their own mind s.
The jetskiers always just skip up in front of boats, but this time my boy was totally in the right, the Contender dude was a dick.
If our slipways (boat ramps) here in the UK were like they are in FL there is no way I would have boating as a hobby. It's crazy.
Please explain.
@@daverson1508 In the UK, our ramps are no where near as busy or are regulated more as you may have to pay as a lot are private etc.
I have been watching this channel for quite a while and NO ONE uses the courtesy dock. Anyway, the GMC dude was in the wrong. The other side was open, but he chose to ignore the ski and backed down anyway. How much easier for him to just move over and already be in a position to load instead of waiting...which he was going to do any....on the ski to move. I'd call him a tool, but most tools are useful.
Is it my imagination, or did the center console boat still have the transom straps on?
You and I have very different definitions of things heat up
That Powerstroke needing full throttle to pull that tiny boat had me dying…. 😂
How much does the tow-oat charge to haul someone in or get them unstuck?
Omg my wife would not be pleased. I can hear it now "you said you knew what you were doing, did you forget?"
Very windy!
In my opinion the guy in the GMC was a jerk. As fast as the guy loaded that jet ski was so fast. And the GMC guy backing down when he saw the jet ski there was the one in the wrong. What's wrong with people anymore thinking they are more important than others? SMH
I understand your reasoning but that is not boat ramp etiquette.
👍🤙
The family broke the lower unit fin when he ran aground!
Aw, was waiting for the guy trying to sink the truck that he had left the rear tie down straps on as well. I wanted to see when they tried to get the boat off the trailer what happened! 🤦♂😁
If captain cook didn’t park the 80 footer there they’d all have room. 😂🇦🇺
I suppose the captain was below decks, using ship/shore, hiring a crane.
The white truck is a self entitled king of the boat ramp. Everybody needs to obey his commands, so he thinks. It's just how some people are raised without proper education. If they had park rangers things would be better and Mr white truck would have to adjust to taking his turn in line
He was definitely over-egoed
I am the GMC guy.....and am well educated, and polite, and always shy away from confrontation. In this situation, the jet skiier is wrong, based on common practice and boat ramp etiquette. Most boat ramp frequents know the correct process. You must not.
Would someone mind explaining what the "courtesy dock" is?
That GMC coulda used a nice bath.
What is a courtesy dock? I’ve never seen one before.
Looks like the sandbar isn't the only thing he has hit. If you look closely you'll see the scag is broken off his motor.
I want to know about the cute little boat on the other side. What is it?
1:38 … What is the boat in the lower right corner?
What is your definition of a courtesy dock?
People that hit the dock blocker likely don't even know what the markers mean.
Why don’t they use the courtesy dock?I have never tied to a dock in my life we use to drop someone on the dock get the trailer than drive right on the trailer took longer to walk to the truck than anything else
Will they redo the ramps in the summer?
Is it just me or did the red and white boat that went aground tear off the skeg and prop?
Should have shown the end of the second to last guy who back in too far. He never took off his back straps.
Seems like people in Florida take there time at the dock
Dude, buy some extra cameras and put them up stationary, that way you dont miss things that happen.
this is exactly the problem every single time i use that ramp it backs everything up because these people boat and jet skis pull up to the dock and block the ramp then people who used the courtesy dock are already in there truck ready to pull there boat out and be done and out of the way but instead they have to sit there and wait for the people who are blocking the ramp to cut in front of everyone in order to get there boat out. If you think thats the proper way that is ridiculous and you have absolutely no consideration for other people and their time. Boynton needs a massive over haul regardless that ramp is extremely neglected. The guy with the contender could of been on the trailer and gone before the guy with the jetski would probably even make it back.
Thank you. Someone who knows what the fuck theyre talking about.
@@jtsarubbi2937 Agreed but most people that watch these videos dont even have boats or hardly use them. Their comments are painfully revealing.
"And speaking of gettin' outta here ..."
Courtesy? What's that?
I know this has been said here before but I don’t understand why anyone needs to even tie up to the dock unless you’re boating solo. Nose up to the end of the dock let someone off to go grab the truck and hang out and putt around or you wait for them.
Removing the dock cleats will not enable a boat to tie to anything.
quite a few boaters have no idea what a channel marker is as proven by your channel. I wonder how many people just buy a boat an go. No idea how to back up with a trailer, don't know the rules of the water, and on and on. i've been hauling trailers a long time from snowmobile to now boat trailers. I still mess up, especially with the seadoo one, the boat one is quite easy. I am happy that we have more docks than boaters up here in eastern canada. never have to wait to load or unload. definitely spoiled.
If someone is already tied off to the dock they are first
Jet Ski Fella has the right, and waz the better man. Give him propz for the tailgate down, skillz straight line back, and avoiding the obnoxious. Itz ok, no everyone likez JSkierz, but if you get stuck in the sand bar, or run outta gas...that JSki is a "Rockstar"; go-ahead and call Towboat, and she howz that gonna play
Incorrect Sir.......you must be a jet skiier.
@@jtsarubbi2937
Disagree with ya and your etiquette and whatever else you bring or say you are. Pay attention to what is been said in the video. I understand that you do not like JSkierz. If he waz to be polite, like you proclaim yourself Sir, he would allowed the JSkier to back up, which lookz with xperience straight line backin, load and leave. Intimidation Karen. Proclaim yourself what you are not, cuz it is all about you, and keep your Polite in your back pocket along with your next reply.
@@dragshotking7776 lol I have no problem with Jet ski's. They are fun. My children enjoy riding them. I am simply educating you on the correct way boat ramps work.
yeah, don't know...I would have sat in my car ready to back down for the ski and waited old mate out...ski wasn't going anywhere so neither was he. Isn't that how it works? 1st in best dressed?
That’s hardly getting heated
Why are so many boats stuck?
Sand bars.
What is the deal with that boat on the right?
Dude in the white truck is being a jerk just move let him get his jet ski outa the way all of 2 minutes then he could have backed in ..
Common courtesy A thing of the past
If I was the jetski guy I would have backed the trailer up and angled in behind the douchebag in the GMC and then loaded it on the trailer. I drove tractor-trailer for years, I can parallel park a 53' trailer lol
have some respect wait your turn.
Vehicles with a trailer have the right of way not a boat on the water. Just like the car on the right has the right of way at a stop sign. If all the ramps have boats tied up to them waiting for a trailer, and the trailers waiting in line have 20 vehicles in front of them waiting to launch. At this point the ramp is shut down and that is why vehicles and trailers have the right of way
The guy in the white truck was in the wrong he just pulls down into a occupied ramp
So we arnt talking about the 1920’s gheenoe
White truck guy is the ass. Jetski guy was so fast he would have parked and been out in 1 minute.
"Tough Guy" with the boat trailer will run his mouth to the wrong person one day and get humbled real quick.
I am the guy in the GMC.....and Agreed. It's never smart to run your mouth at ramp. Many people conceal carry, as I do. I have seen gun fights break out. And FYI - the jet skiier was in the wrong based on boat ramp common practice.
I think you should get your trailer first
Ass should have moved over to the ramp where the jetski ended up load on.
The jetski guy could have tied up a little further back maybe even on the end of the dock. The white truck guy could you know just move his truck over a few feet.
Something tells me white truck guy isn't that great at backing a trailer down
I'll start by saying, I'm a fan of your page, and enjoy watching all these video's because most of the time, it's amateur hour. I am a frequent at the Boynton Ramp, and in this video, happen to be the guy in the white GMC. Let me shed some light here: There is a courtesy dock for a reason. Because usually the line of trucks and trailers can be 10 deep. Sometimes almost to the highway. So it is physically impossible, to leave your boat, taking up a ramp space, and then think that you are going to get your truck and wait in the line of trailers waiting. IT JUST DOESNT WORK. That's why anyone who knows anything about this boat ramp, knows that you must put your boat at the courtesy docks......go wait in line with your truck (just like everyone else), and eventually wait for an open ramp space. You get all these jerks who think they can just skip the line, and pull their boat right up to the ramp like a valet service, like this Jet Skiier did. So unfortunately Broncos Guru....this time you are wrong...............the ONLY time you can ever leave your boat at the ramp without moving it to the courtesy dock, would be if the ramp is dead quiet and no one is waiting (like I do at 6am when no one is there). But at prime time on a Saturday or Sunday.....Put your boats at the courtesy dock, and wait in line like everyone else.
Seems most people here don't boat at all and are competely ignorat of ramp protocol or just dont give a damn. The ski was in the wrong.
You people in miami need to teach your wives how to either A) back a trailer, or B) how to drive the boat on and off the trailer
You have it all wrong! The jet ski should have docked on the outside side of the boat ramp, allowing the ramp to be used by people ready while he gets his truck and stuff together. When it's his turn he can back down and then move his ski from the outside of the dock to the ramp to load.
All it takes is for people to THINK about OTHERS!!
Guy in the red truck should have blocked the other guy in by acting like he didn’t know how to back the trailer in. Don’t back in and don’t move the ski for about 10 minutes. All the while laughing to himself. You are right that if dummy dude would have had his boat at the ramp he would have pitched a fit about someone blocking the ramp. It would have angered me more that he was trying to tell me what’s up. Blowhard.
Willing to bet that first white truck meathead is a hypocrite 99% of the times.
People have no sense ramp beside him is empty
Dude in the white truck is a karen. Just chill. Obviously nobody uses the C dock. Just park your boat. Go get your trailer..
The boater acted like a entitled Karen.
You mean the ski that took up a whole dock when he could have ted it at te end of the courtesy dock. You skis are cocroaches of the wateryway.Alwasy ignorant of the rules and causing problems
Jet skier was the good guy what a pos
Oh man, not your best work. That first boat backed in way too far. The 2nd one forgot to remove his transom straps. That's why he backed in so far.
you would be a better narrator if you didn't talk
If I had time, I would just sit there waiting (but not arguing). He would eventually move.
Courtesy dock?
Not sure 🇺🇲s know the meaning of courtesy. They dont even know what common sense is.
