- Action 4 in different conditions. Some of the lighting indoors in particular was very dark, but you wouldn't know from this video.
I'm still sticking with auto settings in normal colour. It works in most situations. Probably, when I get home, I'll play around more with settings and manual things, but we are in desperate need of some decent ND filters. Once they're around, I might play around with frame rate and shutter speeds.
For just capturing a day out though, this camera is a gem in auto and often tricky lighting situations. LED lights, tube lights, dark daylight. I'm literally just pointing and taking the shot with no real 'photographic' care.
It works every time and in this video, not one shot was taken out. This is what I took!!! All of it ......

Ian I am really enjoying your vlogs, It is nice to see how the other side of the pond enjoys life. I think it also is a great way to show the action 4 in a natural real world example. I hope you continue to feel better. Keep up the good work.
Thank you digiklump. I am feeling like I have gained years back. The heart operation has worked big time and my energy has returned so that I am able to run around now. Before, it was quite a challenge to keep walking at times. Result was I put on weight so now I can get around again, I’m trying to lose it.
I was in two minds about these vlogs on CZcams because I have been doing mostly reviews and tips and don’t want to alienate mic people. I must admit, this is my real love for video and I do find the review type stuff a bit constraining. I also find it easier to be myself on these vloggy things because I am actually enjoying myself. The videos are a real pleasure for me to make as well.
CZcams tends to make you push yourself a certain way in order to try and get views when it’s not necessarily the way you naturally are. I’ve been having a ball with these videos and there are are others that I haven’t posted. Made quite a lot here.
so much swag
We had such a good time. That video really brings back a happy day.
Hi Ian hope you're well. Another great vlog with the action 4 ? I really like the colours for it, doesn't seem a saturated as the gopro's can. Enjoyed the game of golf, Tiger Woods may have a rival. Didn't like the look of those clouds did you managed to miss the rain.
Best wishes stay safe Jon
Hi Jon. I’m having a ball with this camera. The Action 4 is a really good piece of kit. It’s all I have with me and a DJI wireless mic, although I’m often going directly into the camera with a Rode lav. I am using most of the shots that I take with it. There’s little that I’m throwing away because it does so well with exposure and colour. I raise dark areas indoors if they are starting to disappear but it copes with a massive range of lighting conditions easily.
We got down to Swanage yesterday! We did the shops and for Lucy, the crystal shops especially and were just about to walk down to the pier and give your plaque a shine, when it rained!! So we went home.
We’re going back on Friday so Helena is preparing brasso!!!
@@iancraig Did you manage to keep Lucy away from Corfe bears, Karen always pops into Corfe bears and generally we come out with a bear.
We have that coming on Friday. Back to Swanage to polish your plaque and then train to Corfe. Haven’t told Lucy! She has so many stuffed toys, you really wouldn’t believe it. We’re talking into hundreds ……
the bit where I agree to Dad buying me a build a bear, is very edited! We had a long discussion of me offering to pay and ‘are you sure, I feel bad’ but dad very methodically, cut it all out! xx
Did he? 😂 love you xxx
@@iancraiglove you too 😂😂
Nice vlogging out with your family, and I guess it didn't even run hot the whole time?
You probably cheated in the mini golf lol
Don’t tell the girls I cheated. They’ll grasp at straws! I don’t have problems with it heating up because I don’t leave it running. On/off all the time, so it’s not a problem.
@@iancraig Haha I won't.
Yeah I thought so, so I will think it will work great for this kind of vlogging.
For me, it’s the best miniature since the Hero 5. GoPro went odd after the 5 (well, more odd), but this camera is a gem. It has been so fuss free to get these images that it’s just a pleasure to make them them. No worries about settings. Just get on with whatever and shoot whenever you like without worrying about settings or focus. It’s brilliant.
@@iancraig I feel you. I feel the same joy I had when I bought my first OA1, it just work and so easy to use and with good quality on footage aswell.
Same for me. I thought the first Osmo was a good camera. I have had them all from the start. Never liked the 2 really. Unflattering I think and my 3 didn’t ever seem right in focus.
