Attorney Menchaca, can you tell me what are the benefits that the TN visa gives you?
Absolutely look the TN visa gives you a lot of benefits that make it easy for you to have a productive and fulfilling work life in the United States.
Number one, you're able to live in the United States with your immediate family, which is you and your spouse and your children under the age of 21.
Number two, you're able to get a job in the United States legally and earn U.S. dollars, which is what everybody wants.
Number three, you have access to the education system in the United States, so you and your family so your children from pre-k to college can go to school in the United States.
Your children will get a visa called the TD visa, D as in dog, and with that visa your kids can go to school in the United States without the need to apply for a student visa and also you if you wanted to get your master's degree in the evening, part time, or PhD or whatever, you can enroll at a university and do that as well with a TN visa.
So everybody gets a benefit from the education system in the United States, which is the best of course.
So this would mean that my children would have full access to all the education in the United States?
Absolutely.
That's great, what other benefit does this visa give you?
This visa also gives you access to obtain your social security number, so as you know in the United States you need the social security number, which is a national identification number that you need for just about everything you do.
So this visa gives you that access to that number.
And lastly this visa eases your entries into the United States, so you can come and go as many times as you want between the United States and any other country with the TN visa, and when you come back it's a lot easier to enter the United States than it is as compared to entering with the tourist visa or with ESTA, because the officers at the port of entry already know what you're coming to the United States, they already know you have a TN visa, they know you're coming into work, so they started don't question you as much as to why are you coming and how long you're going to be here, so it makes entries into United States a lot easier.
These are all great benefits.

Can you buy a home with a TN visa? My understanding is the TN Visa is a temporary Visa, therefore whenever you want to renew they would question on having a home.
