I have been having weird problems with my Jeep ever since going down to Oregon Jeep Jamboree. My windshield wipers would come on and stay on, the alarm would go off when I unlocked the Jeep, my dash would freak out and restart, brake lights stay on while driving, and some other random problems.
After a lot of research, I decided I would replace the TIPM ( Totally Integrated Power Module ) as this is a very common set of symptoms for when there is a TIPM issue. I found a great company in California called Mak's TIPM Rebuilders.

Wow! Try Maks tipm rebuilders for sure! They are awesome to deal with. You can also send them your TIPM to be repaired for even less. I just didnt do that because the shipping back and forth from Canada is a bit too much.

Very good and very helpful. Having issues with 10 Journey. Had to have all computer modules factory reset after local shop plugged in wrong computer module. Most problems went away. Still no wind shield cleaner fluid, horn and parasitic power loss. Looking at TIPM replacement if a hard 24 hour reset does not work. Oh, one suggestion to excellent video. Put the fuse cover back on before messing with the wire sets on the back, that way you can not accidently cause a true fuse problem. Once again Great Video & Thanks!

thanks for vid. i did this without any info just by looking at the connectors and the green one was hard to remove but since this video i now know it just needs to be wiggled - didnt want to break any piece. also thanks for naming it TIPM - ive seen some videos call it PDC (power distribution ctr) or fuse box but if i am to replace it doesnt show. just need yo clear that space for awhile, need some gutting of cables. great vid i recommend

Thank you for your video on the TIPM as my 2015 Jeep Wrangler had the break light and a few others on the dash going on and off , plus when I started the Jeep with the key it would turn off the motor with in seconds … so I opened TIPM lid and realized some of the fuses were loose so I pushed them all down and now everything is working perfectly 👌🏼
Update …. Red light started flashing on again and shutting the motor off , so I changed the fob battery and the red light is finally off and my motor stays on 😁
Bro I have a 08 Liberty and you just made me so happy that this is so easy. Right now my power door locks quit working, no power. A few years ago though it was below zero and it would not get any power at all, no start or even recognizing the key was in the ignition...the key fob didnt work to unlock doors. On the dash a weird light appeared in the middle "brake"... It was gone after the shop fixed it.... I took it to the shop having no idea what was wrong, they just took the TIPM apart and put it back together and charged me $350. I had not had a problem since but I could not imagine what they would charge for a swap. They actually told me they would not do it because Chryslers are hard to flash.

I just bought my TIPM in ebay, the car not show up any codes exepts the battery, but ECU and the Crysler T& C Limited,3.8 yr 2005, gave me a bunch of hot times, changing serials time the o2 sensor etc. But I need to relearn the vin, what's tips do you recommend me.. I replaced my tipm now i have airbag lights on the dash. This was a new tipm oem. I did the overnight battery trick and still have the airbag lights on.
2018 JL Wrangler sport no keyless entry. Red dot on dash is on (no blinking). Jeep struggles to start, dash glitches ,no start, second push sometimes starts it. Otherwise just clicks. Dealerships not open on weekends. Daily driver very stressed , need to work to pay bills. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Just a suggestion I would certainly clean all the plugs with contact cleaner while they are disconnected.
Great video. More information that I needed since I'm mechanically inclined and have very little issues with most things. I own 2 Mopar vehicles. This is extremely easy to do and almost anyone can do it with only a couple of metric sockets (1 for the battery terminals & one for the TIPM). MAKS TIPM rebuilder is a great vendor now that I've had a chance to use them. We have a 2008 Jeep Liberty and have some electrical issues that have been very random and the one thing that has corrected is either a code reader & shutting the Jeep down and restarting. Last week my wife pulled out of the driveway and I hear the horn going nuts. I go out there and she is pulling back in with the horn still going crazy and the front and rear windshield wipers going non stock without them even being turned on. I attempted to drain remove terminals and drain power from it and then restart. After a few seconds it started all over again. Took about a week to get the rebuilt TIPM and took only about 5 min to swap them out. Once it was programmed to the Jeep all issues seem to have gone away.
I had similar repeat problems several years ago and replaced the steering wheel clockspring 3 times only lasting several months each time. When it happened again I read on JK Forum to try draining the residual charge from the control modules by removing the battery terminals then connecting the two terminals without the battery and draining any residual charge in the control modules, reconnect and the problem has never returned. That was 3 year ago. Costs nothing so try this first. It may save you a fortune.

and I have a problem with the burned out bulb effect in the left turn signal.
what to do ?
when I start the car, I turn on the left turn signal and after a while it starts blinking faster as if it would be twice as fast as normal.
in the front I have normal lamps and in the back someone put on the leds.
maybe this is the reason?
how did someone have a problem with it, maybe he knows what is the cause and how to solve it?

question for you. I need to trace a short. I know the wire and I know the fuse. M20. If I take the TIPM up, can I see the color wire I am looking for and can you just replace it in the fuse slot or do I need to splice it in? Thanks,
Been having a low beam issue with mine. Supposedly the tipm is the issue. Running Morimoto super7 lights and haven’t had any issue with them until recently. May try a hard reset on it first.
How’d it go after the hard reset? Or did you replace your tipm?
you have to send the Vin number in order to get the tipm programed or the pcm match tipm?
Hi my freind my 2011 have the same problem start whit whiper no turn signal so i think was the multifunction handler for lights and whiper blade i take those off problem continue so some one tell me the TIPM so i check every grown conection plus every plugs incluid on the TIPM i take every plug clean whit electronic sprayed so solve the problem but now the electro fan no work so got high temperture drive me crazy but im 100% is the TIPM every time we drop 10* degrees weather temperture i have problem THANK FOR THE VIDEO
question i got the tipm from them and still getting radio rebooting and the christmas tree lighting up and wipers going and air bag and headlights turning off and suggestions
I drive a 2010 VW Routan. It's running but all the dashboards lights are flickering on and off. In ten minutes they turned on and off 17 times until I brought it to the VW dealership. The dealership said I needed to replace the TIPM. I decided to purchase a TIPM from LKQ and have a local mechanic install it. When the mechanic called me that it was all fixed, the hazard lights were turning on for a few seconds only when I started the vehicle and when I exited the vehicle. The next day I took the van into town to drive around and all the dashboard lights are flickering all over again.Should I disconnect the batteries like you did for at least 24 hours ?

I was wondering if the relays are supposed to get warm or hot in tipm. I have been having a issue with overheating and I changed out my radiator fan with a brand new one and it worked for a short day and now no more. Also abs light is on traction light miss firing. I put new coils and spark plugs I have put in a new water pump, thermostat. I have done everything that I can think of. The jeep has shut off occasionally while driving in the past. My jeep is a 2012 jku is it possible that the tipm is the problem?

Thanks for the video, I have a 2012 Wrangler JK and have the camshaft position sensor bank 1 code coming up which is throwing the Jeep into limp mode, I replaced the sensor with an OEM part but I'm still getting the error code, doing a hard reset of the battery today. Trying to walk things back and see if it's a loose wire or the TIPM, started having this problem few months ago when I went on a rough graded Dirt Road in Arizona and my jeep was bouncing all over the place because of the solid axles and my suspension being way too stiff, think I damaged some wiring or the TIPM.
I also have the 2012. I am going to order a Tipm from Maks this week. Did you go through, with the replacement?
So on the high way my traction , sway bar light aswell as the radio shutting off and sometimes when i start my Jeep the ac goes full blast randomly, I’m guessing it’s this issue

Does this solve the problem or do the aftermarket TIPMs eventually go bad again?
Would this cause no crank no noise? Not even fuel pump to engage? Had a bad alternator, mechanic replaced it and now it won’t start. Got code for tipm on scanner or pcm. All relays and fuses are good starter bypass cranks the starter but nothing when key is turned. How can I get this started? 2010 Jeep wrangler

my 2012 wrangler is in the shop my blinker went out. but after they said they fixed it my tight blinker became my fog light and on the left side its still the original blinker and the shop says that it wasnt their fault that its my tipm and now they want to charge me again to replace it but i think they are playing me ...wat is your opinion
I believe my 2007 Jeep Liberty is having the same issue, but mak doesn’t carry it. I’ll probably have to go to a junkyard
Be careful with them! I broke the tabs on the Tipm when I took it out the work on the engine and ended up having a whole new one.

I can drive the Jeep and sometimes it will not start,click and there is nothing no lights on the dash board, i wait 15 mins and the vehicle starts up.

Hi, I have the problem of turning on the lights when opening with the remote control. From the light switch and from the central spot they turn on. Could it be a TIPM problem?
I've looked up at least 40 different videos by now and CZcams can't seem to understand what I am asking for. My wiper blades are coming on by themselves even though I have everything switched off. Would you happen to have any idea what it could be I have a 2014 Jeep Compass.

I thought i had it fixed but last week when i closed my back hatch the brake lights flashed and it started again (wipers, horn beeping, wiper wsprayer) and it all sounds like a car alarm.
I have a 2006 Jeep commander. When I was driving my speedometer, tachometer, coolant gauge, gas gauge, turn signals, front power windows, power locks, radio, sun roof,headlight control, wipers, all stopped working at once and all of my warning lights popped on. My drive select indicator doesn’t show what gear I’m in and my odometer is stuck on 167,141, it won’t change. I have lost my acc cluster when I turn the key, but if I close or open any door it comes back on with all the warning lights, but no gauges working, almost like closing or opening a door is triggering something.
I’ve checked all fuses and relays and all seems fine. I’ve cleaned all my grounds in the engine bay. I’ve inspected most of the wiring in the engine bay. I have changed my ignition switch 2 times bought from 2 different stores.
I’ve had the car scanned and got codes:
u1411, u0114, u140e, c2202, u0100, u0141, and u0101.
Been trying to resolve this for almost a week now. One time the car came back to normal for about 1 minute, I touched the power button on the radio and it went back to the electrical problems. I’ve since removed the radio and it still won’t go back to normal.
This is very frustrating, especially when I can’t find anyone that has had these symptoms.
My last resort is the dealership.
Any ideas or ever heard of this happening?

Dude it's super easy to reset oil light. Turn the key to run not start push the gas pedal 3 times turn key off and then turn to start.

Not that common? I'm on my 4th TIPM on my '13 JKU & every time I've been to the Dealership to get it replaced there's always been at least 1 other Jeep there getting theirs replaced. Must happen enough to the point where they've been on backorder on more than one occasion.
Sounds like they need a recall. Then again, if it's not a one time fix, they would get financially hammered in the long run. Fix the issue Chrysler!

Anywhere Overlander. Jeep Technician. Cool the 4WD! comes on every time I drive it over 1.0 to 1.4 miles. One thing I've noticed is whenever I mess with it, like remove a ground pigtail and rewire it, or like the other day when I pulled the relay box off (which is over by the front left corner by the marker light), then opened it up because the previous owner had someone work on it by removing one of the relays and wire it up directly due to corroded wires, at any rate, whenever I do that kinda work, the Jeep will go 2.5, 3.0 or even 4.0 mils before tripping that light back on. I'm guessing it's a bad spot on a wire but often wondered if it's not the TIPM that's got issues...... I am going to check the 4-wire pigtail inside the drivers door where they're known to corrode.
I've got it down to just 1 light coming on the instrument panel and the horn stopped working. A month ago it looked like a christmas tree with all red lights that were on... Any thoughts would really help, I'm running out of hair....

I just did the “hard reset” thing the battery cables together overnight. Hooked the battery back up and now it won’t turn over at all, just a click. Dash is lit up and everything seems normal but it won’t turn over. Any ideas?

my -6 jk has a parasitic drain.. dropping about 50% of my deep chcle odyssey batter in one shift at work. ive already smoked of them in a yesr i got replaced under warranty thinking it was a bad battery.
jeep still has bad draw. auto electrical guy ran it for some codes and got 3 on the blueetoh module and 1 on the factory amplifier. sounds like the computer isnt going to sleep. had the stealership do any module updates snd replace the bluetooth module and see if it fixes the draw..
i also ( in the past, rarely) have had episodes where key fob doesnt unlock doors… power windows stop working… ac stops working… eventually things magically work after a restart usually.,, starting to sound like i have a bad tipm?

So I just got a u1148 says lost control with center console switch. Also here lately I can be going down the road and my jeep looses power for a split second then goes back to normal.
I have a 2010 and it did that information the middle of an intersection. I thought it stalled thankfully now one was behind me. The last time it did that it would not restart. I'm was told my shifter cable snapper and my key was no longer registering 💔💩 did you resolve your issue? If so what was the diagnosis and solution? Thanks in advance🤘

Ive replaced mine twice. Headlight, horn, , wiper and blower motor issues. It’s good for about 6 months then it goes crazy again. Wondering if i should look for another issues that is causing the TIPM to act screwy but I don’t know where to start. 2008 JK
Electrical shorts and bad grounds can also cause similar issues. My tipm stopped a bunch of issues, but I also had a bad ground on the OBD2 port (Its grounds on the bolt, next to my left foot in the drivers well (I show it in my electrical issues video) - my foot was kicking the wire. A higher end scanner can show any open circuits / codes the jeep might be throwing. A good place to start.

I bought a rebuilt one so I am not sure about cores.
What problems were you having before replacing?
When I unlock the Jeep the alarm would go off and I couldn't stop it. If I opened any door other the drivers door before starting the Jeep, the wipers would come on and stay on. Sometimes my brake lights would get stuck on. Randomly my dash would turn off, the speedo and rpm gauge go to zero then come back and max out, lights flicker etc.
I'm having problem with wipers on continuous, lights on continuous, gauge cluster totally dead. I replaced tipm from MAK rebuilders. Still have same problem. Any ideas?
Contact MAK and see if your can get a replacement. Could be a bad TIPM. Check your ground as well.
I just bought a wrangler on Thursday last week and Friday I had the exact same issue. I’ve been reading about it for days now trying to figure out out.
@@shanevaughn3617 I've been working on this problem for a month now. I'm going see if I can find a bad ground somewhere or a bare wire. Then concentrate on steering column and the multifunction switch. Let me know if you find something in the meantime. I'll do the same. I'm on my 2nd tipm so don't think that it is the problem. I had this problem, ordered a TIPM but it was actually my (2) body grounds under the TIPM and brake booster (KK 2012).

Ya! But it is kilometers. I am in British Columbia, Canada. My engine still doesnt burn oil and runs great!

it's not the battery, it's a terrible design. the circuit boards fry inside. Junk! $$$
Those terminals are slightly smaller so you definitely have to make sure that they are always snugged
Things like this can't be the responsibility of the owner, it's a manafacters defect , design flaw . Irregardless of time and warranties these mofos need to man up and fix their errors.

My power module for my 07 jk stopped working, i had to wait 3 months to buy a used one for $600, these part is on backorder because they never did a recall and there are many jeep owners with that issue #jeeplife
broli m what was your 07 doing that led you to the power module? I have an 07 that has a random no start - will turn over and have spark but fuel pump doesn't kick on and then randomly it will and start and runs with no issues
@@Brywilbrywil well the dashboard had electricity but the jeep wouldnt start at all and the wipers will turn on by themselve, i knew it was an electrical problem and my mechanic told me i had to replace the module, that box is like a computer and controls the power windows, wipers ect
@@Brywilbrywil I had the same thing with my 07 before all the electrical issues here. I forget the name of the sensor on the shifter, but it is stretched. Anytime I get a no start, push the shifter gently closer to the dash and it starts right up
Caleb Andrews thanks! I watched a few vids on that and didn’t work for us - ours was definitely tied to the fuel pump relay as it started fine if we bypassed the internal stock relay and used an external relay until we had our TIPM repaired at Circuit Board Medics
MAK TIPM not great refurbished units which is probably why they are half the cost of the others and didn't last 2 years...
