I'll tell you one thing Sly 5 could fix. Redeem Penelope. Make it so that she was abducted by Le Paradox and brainwashed by Miss Decibel into thinking Sly was a burden on both her and Bentley. It never made any sense to me that she would betray her friends. And bring back the other members of the gang: Guru, Panda King, heck, Dimitri was originally meant to be a playable character in early planning.

Perhaps Bentley can negotiate with Penelope into helping getting sly home. She did build the time machine blimp that sly was in, even the time phone that Grizz was using to talk to LeParadox, I’m sure there’s a couple spares in the blimp still. Plus it’s a good opportunity for Penelope to redeem herself.
I’m gonna improve upon your theory. So what if sly meets his ancestor from ancient Egypt and they meet eachother. Sly’s ancestor tells him about this villain that they have to take down but due to it being only them two, they both have to teach eachother their moves. Throughout the story, what sly teaches his ancestor goes in the thievious racoonous and Bentley sees where and when sly is. So Murray, carmelita, and Bentley go back in time to save sly just in time as sly and his ancestor just defeated the villain. They go back to present day where it is revealed that sly’s dad is ALIVE. Since sly’s modern move set was put in the book a long time ago, all his ancestors, including his dad, know the added moves which could potentially help sly’s dad defeat OR escape the clockwork gang. Then his dads return could be the focus of sly 5 where the whole gang (including sly’s dad) has to take down the modern clockwork gang since sly’s dad was never killed.

He could have been the last minigame where an odd entry and clue that the book was altered once again after Sly's disappearance, just forgot to mention it because he had a celebratory party too early and the machine failed to mention it unless Bently checked the logs. Carmelita (other than multiple origins since the first to current games) returns to working for Interpol regardless and through the time once again became the top most agent once again and NOT lose her job or drive. We can have: The origin of Clockwork born his original name, a fellow successful thief but due to his ailing body some time after, found himself using mystic powers to extend his life and find technology to expand his lifespan afte the former's losing potency due to his decayed body. Only his hate and envy fueling him as the Cooper line further shows success and unbound riches as their name continnues to be remembered. LaParadox family line starting after Slytunkamen's era, finding some level of inspiration and trying to mimic the master thief only to then be trapped every generation because a Cooper did the heist/theft better and subsequent family members have been imprisoned and their name smudged as failed thieves. This should intertwine the timeline properly and close most gaps because we never really found the Laparadox nor Clockwork's origins. Laparadox practically tossed his family history like... at the last moment. The ending then would be one small breaking-and-entering of one Carmelita Fox's office and finding the culprit as... Sly Cooper Thus we can end: The scene either the two kissing, Having warm smiles and hearts in the air as Cop chases Thief, Or Sly coming back into the force. (That one heist we opened into Sly 4 was never reported as Cooper's doing due to LeParadox being the main suspect. Thanks to Carmelita of course.)

I think that what Sony did to the later Rachet & Clank games would work perfectly for Sly. First remake Thievius Racoonus for PS4 and PS5, making it more like the stablished open world formula. Then release a true sequel to Thieves in Time, exclusive to PS5, as a final chapter in the series, adapting Sanzaru's ideas for the story, making the parallels with the creation of the Thievius Racoonus, redeeming Penelope and having Clockwerk as the main villain, one last time. Both Sly 1 remake and Sly 5 would be connected perfectly putting focus on the Thievius Racoonus, the Cooper Clan legacy and Clockwerk. The perfect send-off to Sly and the Gang.
Here's my own theory: Sly is Slytunkhamen. I believe this to be true given the fact that both Sly and his Egyptian ancestor looks very much similar. Just like the original author of the Thievius Raccoonus, Sly is still new to being master thief, albeit little more experienced. While he doesn't want to alter the past he would change his name to Slytunkhamen and start creating the Thievius Raccoonus. It's a sort of a Futurama "Fry is his own grandfather" ordeal. The reason I believe this is because both his ancestor looks like him and both share the same name, which I sorta doubt is just a coincidence especially in that time era.

There are two main ways of thought on timetravel. The butterfly effect (which you explain), inevitabilty of fate (things will not be the same but close enough to closs over), and the closed loop, where in the last one nothing changes cause tennessee and the others always had met sly under these circumstances.
Did you forget that they could just use the Thevious Racoonus? It’s not like the object they time travel with actually gets destroyed, we saw that with the sword they took, they Carmelita destroyed.
I think it'd be more interesting to treat the whole Sly inspiring Slytunkhamen to create the Thievus Racoonus as a closed time loop situation. I.e. Sly was always the one who inspired Slytunkhamen to the idea of the Thievus Racoonus. But because of this nothing will have changed. I think this makes more sense because Bentley and the gang spend time seaching for Sly when if your theory was correct then immediately after disappearing Bentley would have got notice of the change to the timeline. Now I think how Bentley finds out is he helps Slytunkhamen comes up with a secret code that only Coopers knew how to decode but he tells Slytunkhamen to make one of the symbols in the code something Bentley would recognize. This could lead him to trying to find out when the code started and come to the conclusion that it started when the book was made and in turn know when and where to find him. As for the item needed to travel I think it'd be neat to see them have to do a thieving mission without him and everyone is thinking they can do Sly's role in a mission better. Comedy insues. Anyway I think a good plot point would be if somehow a pre robot version of Clockwork got a hold of the time travel tech and so Clockwork would be the villian once again bringing the gang full circle. I also think this could eventually have Sly getting to work alongside his father to bring down clockwork. Maybe you find out that his Dad didn't just die by Clockworks hands or claws (talon?) but died trying to save current day Sly. Also maybe Sly's cane breaks and he inherits his fathers one. It could end with them killing non robot clockwork but they show somehow he was brought back as a robotic form resolidifying the timeline as it was just slightly different way to get there. I think this could be a great way to end the Sly franchise as a whole. Maybe even as a fun end bit you have Sly's son as a Detective instead of a cop or thief. He stops thieves but is willing to bend the laws to do so.
Good to see a theory video from you again! Looks like you had fun making it too. Keep the theories coming! I also have a whole story in my head for a Sly 5 game that would make it the best in the franchise. Sometimes I wish I knew how to make games, I could just make it myself!
Pretty much exactly how I'd theorize it would work- Sly performs some action in the past that rewrites the present. Maybe even go so far as to rewrite history by defeating Clockwerk in the past (out of self defense, not necessarily because Sly wants to stop him from killing his future ancestors) and that makes Clockwerk plan out something in the time between ancient Egypt and the first game that leads to some contingency group that surfaces when Sly returns to the present. And so the game can be about Sly and his crew facing off with the new Fiendish Five, or whatever they would be known as, to stop them from killing him and committing thefts and the like. One nitpick I have, though, was the way you talked about how they always managed to go to the time period of an ancestor implied it was pure coincidence, even though the whole intention was to warp back to the time periods of the ancestors and the machine worked off taking artifacts from the same time period. It was only the prehistoric chapter where the group entirely on accident warped to the right place and the right time to stop a Le Paradox scheme.
I have a theory on how Bentley, Murray and Carmelita will get Sly back. I believe Bentley would go back to the site of the incident which is the river where some of the wreckage lies scattered what Le Paradox and Penelope don’t know is that thanks to Bentley’s foresight the time machine Le Paradox used contained possibly a black box. Bentley would go back to the site and comes across a black box of the time machine he’d recover the black box and then Bentley can analyze the data to find out the last input on the time machine which would be Ancient Egypt. He’d call Murray and Carmelita telling them he found where Sly is after the time machine in the blimp disappeared. Carmelita would find an item if that particular time, Murray would saddle up and Bentley will be so relieved that they’re going to get Sly back home. After Carmelita hands Bentley the sample he, Murray and Carmelita travel to Ancient Egypt and upon arrival they’ll split up and look for Sly and after hours of searching they found Sly and Carmelita would run to him and give him a hug and a deep passionate kiss. For Bentley and Murray they’ll be so glad to have their friend back and Sly and Carmelita together again.
I wonder if because La Paradox and The Cooper Gang have messed around with time travel and thus altering the future, they might accidentally end up resurrecting Clockwork if Sky 5 gets made.
For those who don't know, Sanzaru were purchased recently by Facebook/Occulus. But Sony still hold the rights to Sly so... Back to Suckerpunch(sadly not likely but it's what I'd want)? Or give the reigns to a new dev.
Quite a lot of ways Sly 5 could play out: Sly could run into Slytunkhamen and inspire him, Sly himself could actually BE Slytunkhamen and start the Thievius Raccoonus himself, the feud or origins of Clockwerk could be shown... Possibilities are endless! As for Sly returning to present time, I can see them pulling a similar trick they did with Jean Bison in Sly 2. Sly freezes himself to be awoken later. He'd just need to leave Egypt first.
I have an amazing idea look if the gang needs an item from that current timeline to save sly and if the ancient Egypt ancestor was the creator of the thievious raccoonous why dont they use the actual book to travel back in time because that book was created in that timeline and they need an item from a specific timeline
I posted this theory on the scrapped Ancient Egypt downloadable content in a previous video that VTNVIVI uploaded. Take a look: I was thinking that as a potential story taking place between Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time and a potential new episode or new game in the form of 10-episode web series entitled Sly & Carmelita: A Tail of Two Star-Crossers, with each episode being 45 minutes long to go more in depth. In one plot, Carmelita is still coping with the fact that Sly is not around and obviously busting criminals at a record pace. One fugitive she's attempting to bust is Penelope, Bentley's ex-girlfriend who betrayed his trust, who was hiding in Dublin, Republic of 🇮🇪. The femme fatale would then insult our favorite vixen by rudely exclaiming that she could never truly 💘 a "stupid code-of-honor idiot". Carmelita then strikes Penelope with her razor sharp 💅 and her shock pistol as a form of retaliation against her. Several Irish officers arrive and arrest Penelope and place her in a higher security cell that she wouldn't be able to escape from. Inspector Barkley just happened to be in Dublin for a charity golf tournament, and after learning what happened, he promptly yelled at her and suspended her indefinitely but strangely allowed her to keep her badge attached to her choker. Sometime later, she recruits The Guru and the Panda King to assist her, Bentley, Murray, and Dimitri to find Sly. Meanwhile, Sly himself, decked out in Ancient Egyptian attire, has been imprisoned by Cleopatra (looking EXACTLY like Carmelita), mistakes him for Slytunkhamen Cooper (who I would portray as an older raccoon), and is currently in a relationship with Cyrille Le Paradox's Egyptian ancestor. In addition, Sly meets up with Slytunkhamen II, the Thievius Raccoonus creator's son. That's all I have. Edit: I was also thinking that Slytunkhamen II would be working as a 💂 for Le Paradox's Egyptian ancestor, who I would call Kaseem Le Paradox, and Cleopatra, with him doing nefarious deeds like hoarding gold he has stolen from citizens in secret, though all three Coopers know what he's up to!!
If we're gonna make this gameinteresting, why not make Sly Cooper's journey back to the present the a plot of the sly cooper 5 game, and have Sly Cooper, instead of going straight back home, have him go forward in time one time period at a time, and each time meeting an ancestor that did NOT appear in thieves in time, first Slytenkhamen, then Slaigh Cooper, the scottish Muscular Cooper, then Henriette 'one-eye' Cooper, than Thaddeus, the Otto von Cooper and Finally, Sly's father, before sly makes it back home, and all the while, the main villain of the story, perhaps a female, tries to stop sly cooper getting back home by sending criminals back in time to hinder his progress in return for funding for their OWN schemes. they could even bring back Sir Raleigh the frog to appear in Henriette's timeline, since it's suits the storm machine making frog
I think in Sly 5 the plot would b that thanks to the Cooper Gang several Villainous groups r out of the picture leaving the Mobsters(Shown in business attire with silhouette faces and yellow eyes during Octavio intro in Sly 3) start to take over everything. As Bently and the gang travel to get Sly during the Egyptian Era a Pharaoh Hound who is a rival thief of Slytunkhamen discovers the time machine Van and attempts to steal it to become the greatest thief of all time. But, the Cooper Gang got Whiff of his plan and attempt to escape on the van to return to their original time only for the hound to latch on. Sly and the hound fight on top of the van only for the hound to be knocked off lost into the time stream. The Cooper gang return home to only see mobsters run the streets and their van damaged. Then suddenly the Coopers are surrounded by sentries of mobsters and their mob bosses where they are then approached by the Capo Giovanni. It was then revealed that Giovanni is the Pharaoh Hound that got knocked into the time stream and sent back to a time where he was able to create his criminal empire and prepared for the moment where he'll end the Cooper line forever.
If Sly 5 happens, most likely Cooper gang has to do another time travel adventure to stop new (or old) villian from changing the past and meet more Sly's ancestry.
We need a known youtuber like you Canadian Guy Eh to start some sort of petition to get enough traction to show Sony. Crash came back stronger than ever and I have faith that Sly can too. Back in the day I made a petition on the CZcams channel “Sly4TiTimeCE”. I was like 14-15 years old and wanted Sony to release a Collectors Edition for Sly 4 and I got over 10,000 signatures as a random channel and video that I put up. I have no doubt that someone like you, plus the community, can gain enough traction to get a Sly 5 ATLEAST talked about again. Hell even contact Sanzaru and ask them to sign it! Or even Sucker Punch! Sly died in the past... He never got back home due to how time travel should've worked (Machine should've alerted Bentley at the end of 4 but it didnt).

Anyway I think a good plot point would be if somehow a pre robot version of Clockwork got a hold of the time travel tech and so Clockwork would be the villian once again bringing the gang full circle. I also think this could eventually have Sly getting to work alongside his father to bring down clockwork. Maybe you find out that his Dad didn't just die by Clockworks hands or claws (talon?) but died trying to save current day Sly. Also maybe Sly's cane breaks and he inherits his fathers one.
It could end with them killing non robot clockwork but they show somehow he was brought back as a robotic form resolidifying the timeline as it was just slightly different way to get there. I think this could be a great way to end the Sly franchise as a whole. Maybe even as a fun end bit you have Sly's son as a Detective instead of a cop or thief. He stops thieves but is willing to bend the laws to do so.

Good to see a theory video from you again! Looks like you had fun making it too. Keep the theories coming! I also have a whole story in my head for a Sly 5 game that would make it the best in the franchise. Sometimes I wish I knew how to make games, I could just make it myself!

Pretty much exactly how I'd theorize it would work- Sly performs some action in the past that rewrites the present. Maybe even go so far as to rewrite history by defeating Clockwerk in the past (out of self defense, not necessarily because Sly wants to stop him from killing his future ancestors) and that makes Clockwerk plan out something in the time between ancient Egypt and the first game that leads to some contingency group that surfaces when Sly returns to the present. And so the game can be about Sly and his crew facing off with the new Fiendish Five, or whatever they would be known as, to stop them from killing him and committing thefts and the like.
One nitpick I have, though, was the way you talked about how they always managed to go to the time period of an ancestor implied it was pure coincidence, even though the whole intention was to warp back to the time periods of the ancestors and the machine worked off taking artifacts from the same time period. It was only the prehistoric chapter where the group entirely on accident warped to the right place and the right time to stop a Le Paradox scheme.
I have a theory on how Bentley, Murray and Carmelita will get Sly back. I believe Bentley would go back to the site of the incident which is the river where some of the wreckage lies scattered what Le Paradox and Penelope don’t know is that thanks to Bentley’s foresight the time machine Le Paradox used contained possibly a black box. Bentley would go back to the site and comes across a black box of the time machine he’d recover the black box and then Bentley can analyze the data to find out the last input on the time machine which would be Ancient Egypt. He’d call Murray and Carmelita telling them he found where Sly is after the time machine in the blimp disappeared. Carmelita would find an item if that particular time, Murray would saddle up and Bentley will be so relieved that they’re going to get Sly back home. After Carmelita hands Bentley the sample he, Murray and Carmelita travel to Ancient Egypt and upon arrival they’ll split up and look for Sly and after hours of searching they found Sly and Carmelita would run to him and give him a hug and a deep passionate kiss. For Bentley and Murray they’ll be so glad to have their friend back and Sly and Carmelita together again.
I wonder if because La Paradox and The Cooper Gang have messed around with time travel and thus altering the future, they might accidentally end up resurrecting Clockwork if Sky 5 gets made.
For those who don't know, Sanzaru were purchased recently by Facebook/Occulus. But Sony still hold the rights to Sly so... Back to Suckerpunch(sadly not likely but it's what I'd want)? Or give the reigns to a new dev.
Quite a lot of ways Sly 5 could play out: Sly could run into Slytunkhamen and inspire him, Sly himself could actually BE Slytunkhamen and start the Thievius Raccoonus himself, the feud or origins of Clockwerk could be shown... Possibilities are endless!
As for Sly returning to present time, I can see them pulling a similar trick they did with Jean Bison in Sly 2. Sly freezes himself to be awoken later. He'd just need to leave Egypt first.

I have an amazing idea look if the gang needs an item from that current timeline to save sly and if the ancient Egypt ancestor was the creator of the thievious raccoonous why dont they use the actual book to travel back in time because that book was created in that timeline and they need an item from a specific timeline

I was thinking that as a potential story taking place between Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time and a potential new episode or new game in the form of 10-episode web series entitled Sly & Carmelita: A Tail of Two Star-Crossers, with each episode being 45 minutes long to go more in depth. In one plot, Carmelita is still coping with the fact that Sly is not around and obviously busting criminals at a record pace. One fugitive she's attempting to bust is Penelope, Bentley's ex-girlfriend who betrayed his trust, who was hiding in Dublin, Republic of 🇮🇪. The femme fatale would then insult our favorite vixen by rudely exclaiming that she could never truly 💘 a "stupid code-of-honor idiot". Carmelita then strikes Penelope with her razor sharp 💅 and her shock pistol as a form of retaliation against her. Several Irish officers arrive and arrest Penelope and place her in a higher security cell that she wouldn't be able to escape from. Inspector Barkley just happened to be in Dublin for a charity golf tournament, and after learning what happened, he promptly yelled at her and suspended her indefinitely but strangely allowed her to keep her badge attached to her choker. Sometime later, she recruits The Guru and the Panda King to assist her, Bentley, Murray, and Dimitri to find Sly.
Meanwhile, Sly himself, decked out in Ancient Egyptian attire, has been imprisoned by Cleopatra (looking EXACTLY like Carmelita), mistakes him for Slytunkhamen Cooper (who I would portray as an older raccoon), and is currently in a relationship with Cyrille Le Paradox's Egyptian ancestor. In addition, Sly meets up with Slytunkhamen II, the Thievius Raccoonus creator's son. That's all I have.
Edit: I was also thinking that Slytunkhamen II would be working as a 💂 for Le Paradox's Egyptian ancestor, who I would call Kaseem Le Paradox, and Cleopatra, with him doing nefarious deeds like hoarding gold he has stolen from citizens in secret, though all three Coopers know what he's up to!!
They could use the Thievius Raccoonus itself to go back to ancient Egypt

If we're gonna make this gameinteresting, why not make Sly Cooper's journey back to the present the a plot of the sly cooper 5 game, and have Sly Cooper, instead of going straight back home, have him go forward in time one time period at a time, and each time meeting an ancestor that did NOT appear in thieves in time, first Slytenkhamen, then Slaigh Cooper, the scottish Muscular Cooper, then Henriette 'one-eye' Cooper, than Thaddeus, the Otto von Cooper and Finally, Sly's father, before sly makes it back home, and all the while, the main villain of the story, perhaps a female, tries to stop sly cooper getting back home by sending criminals back in time to hinder his progress in return for funding for their OWN schemes. they could even bring back Sir Raleigh the frog to appear in Henriette's timeline, since it's suits the storm machine making frog
I think in Sly 5 the plot would b that thanks to the Cooper Gang several Villainous groups r out of the picture leaving the Mobsters(Shown in business attire with silhouette faces and yellow eyes during Octavio intro in Sly 3) start to take over everything. As Bently and the gang travel to get Sly during the Egyptian Era a Pharaoh Hound who is a rival thief of Slytunkhamen discovers the time machine Van and attempts to steal it to become the greatest thief of all time. But, the Cooper Gang got Whiff of his plan and attempt to escape on the van to return to their original time only for the hound to latch on. Sly and the hound fight on top of the van only for the hound to be knocked off lost into the time stream. The Cooper gang return home to only see mobsters run the streets and their van damaged. Then suddenly the Coopers are surrounded by sentries of mobsters and their mob bosses where they are then approached by the Capo Giovanni. It was then revealed that Giovanni is the Pharaoh Hound that got knocked into the time stream and sent back to a time where he was able to create his criminal empire and prepared for the moment where he'll end the Cooper line forever.
If Sly 5 happens, most likely Cooper gang has to do another time travel adventure to stop new (or old) villian from changing the past and meet more Sly's ancestry.

We need a known youtuber like you Canadian Guy Eh to start some sort of petition to get enough traction to show Sony. Crash came back stronger than ever and I have faith that Sly can too. Back in the day I made a petition on the CZcams channel “Sly4TiTimeCE”. I was like 14-15 years old and wanted Sony to release a Collectors Edition for Sly 4 and I got over 10,000 signatures as a random channel and video that I put up. I have no doubt that someone like you, plus the community, can gain enough traction to get a Sly 5 ATLEAST talked about again. Hell even contact Sanzaru and ask them to sign it! Or even Sucker Punch!
