    does the glitter have to be holographic and be burnished to work with Tack-it? If so what do you recommend to be used with other glitter types?

    • @mykaylabelcher7057
      @mykaylabelcher7057 Před 4 lety +1

      I believe it has to be holographic glitter to get the effect.

    Do this only work with holographic glitter

    • @friscoleslie

      MrsQueknight Williams regular glitter will work, but you won’t get the holographic effect

    Does the cup/tumbler have to be spray painted? Can we just use the tack it on a without spray painting?

    So pretty, but my question is how do prep the cup before base coat or just paint then tack it?

    • @spiritwings4592
      @spiritwings4592 Před 3 lety +1

      #1 sand your cup. I use 220 grit then wash with dawn soap ; rinse well then dry. After drying I let mine sit for 10 to 15 minutes.
      #2 I spray paint a base coat and let dry.
      #3 tack it over & over . Mix 1 part tack it to 1 part water mix well.
      #4 Using a brush ; paint a thin layer of tack it mixture on your cup.
      #5 let dry 15min then apply glitter let dry another 15min. Then burnish.
      #6 Using Rustoluem x3 clear coat. Spray your cup and let dry 30 min then recoat.
      #7 proceed with epoxy etc.

    I'm a little confused. First you said the blue tumbler was completely dry. Then when you went to put the glitter on it, you said it was tacky. Which is it supposed to be?

    • @rhyanarmstrong354
      @rhyanarmstrong354 Před 3 lety

      It dries tacky. It's supposed to be, that's how it works

      The tumbler was dry . Then you apply the tack it mixture and it dries tacky.

    Can a brush be used to take off the excess glitter or is it better to use your fingers?

    • @debbiedeshong5602
      @debbiedeshong5602 Před 5 lety

      She is burnishing the glitter...rubbing it in circular motion helps. Makes it appear flat, but gives the most awesome holographics!

    Do you know if the original Aleene's tacky glue in the brown bottle will work?

  • @spiritwings4592
    @spiritwings4592 Před 3 lety

    I don't want to sound rude. But at the price of materials now people can't afford to jump right in and do it as you said . If you were older you would know that not every one learns that way. It's best to go through the steps so new people who want to learn can. I went through and read the comments and I found that you answered very few questions that's sad for people wanting to learn.

    Is the tack it method for holographic glitters only?

    • @dragonbutterfly03
      @dragonbutterfly03 Před 4 lety

      You can use it to apply other types of glitters, but the holographic glitter is the only one that is going to give you the halo effect
