- Footage of 2 sessions on a small local River fishing for Perch using freeline & trotting tactics. Had some awesome action with some lovely fish gracing my net. Hope you enjoy folks & tight lines...
Great chub near the end and that dark looking perch looked like a boss!
Cheers mate, that Chub was Huge! such a shame I never got the fight on film but battery was almost dead i remember.... Yeah the Perch in this section are really Dark colours... Some nice fish there. Amazing how pike will chase fish you're winding in but not chase a lure.
Yeah had a Pike grab a Perch here last year too lol. May return with a few deadbeats to tempt that big Pike 😉🎣

Well done mate some cracking perch ,roach and chub there .Thats a cracking stretch of river you fish,what river is it?.I have been doing a bit more river fishing this year in between carp fishing on my syndicate.I fish the Bristol Avon and have had some cracking chub and roach.Absolutely loving it,quiet banks,small amount of tackle .👍.Keep up the good work,I love watching your videos 👍🎣

Hi again friend, Thanks for tuning in again, Yeah I've had some lovely early season Perch out... That's a good Size perch you had, they are usually at their biggest in Feb/March before they spawn so that's a good time to beat a PB, All the best mate ;)

Hi pal sorry for the late reply... Best Rivers for Perch I can think of is the Lower Don around Sprotbrough, The Idle anywhere really & the Rother. Some really good canals too like the Stainforth & Keadby canal at Thorne & the Chesterfield canal in Retford. Lure fishing the area to try & find the Perch is a good idea mate. Did look bigger I agree , was weighed with Avon scales so should be correct. I have a new Fox digital set now so more accurate now..

Hi Jay, this video was on the River Idle in Nottinghamshire near Retford. I grew up close to here so still fish the Idle quite often. It's worth a visit, full of good fish 👍🎣
