BARBEL LOVE SPAM! - Summer morning Barbel fishing - Jun 24

- Join me as I ventured out at the crack of Dawn for a mornings Barbel fishing hoping to get my first Barbel of the new season. It was a glorious summers morning with the River looking amazing with big overhanging willows & lots of streamer weed filled swims all I had to do was find were the Barbel were.
Using rolling meat free-lined on my trusty shimano Barbel rod could I manage to hook one?

cracking video buddy. Been using spam for years. The best spam are always the ones they discontinue. All Fish love it big and small. In fact, I like a piece of it in a bun with a couple of fried eggs. Absolutely spot on !! all the best and keep up the cracking videos 👍👍🎣🎣

@@yorkshireriverrover7199 I’ve had two very short sessions on the local river. No barbel yet but a bream of 5.5lb, and three chub up to 4.5lb. Time is short but will try and get a couple of hours on Saturday, waders on and running meat and mussels through on the float.

@@yorkshireriverrover7199 had three jobs mate since that place went bust again. I’m sure you’ve heard about it. None of them worked out so in between jobs at minute, but got something lined up hopefully which will be four days on four days off so plenty of time for Fishing look after yourself mate maybe someday we’ll meet up on the bank.

@@keithstandrin9861 hi again, good areas around here are the River Don at Sprotbrough, & Doncaster Prison stretch is good too... River Idle is good for Chub n Barbel around Retford & big Pike out at Misterton way... River Dearne is very good for a few fish , Harlington is good as is Bolton on Dearne & Darfield area... River Wharfe is only 30mins away n that is good for Chub n Barbel around Boston Spa n Tadcaster... hope you try a few areas n catch a few nice fish pal.... all the best 👍🎣
I've been looking to fish Idle myself at retford. Is it free fishing or club water?
@@baileymark3 hi mate, it's mainly all free fishing, Hallcroft lakes have a day ticket stretch tho I think... a few bits are private land too... try behind Kings Park n behind Morrisons pal it's free there 👍
All of my biggest barbel have fallen to spam. Half a tin job. Had them to 13lb
Always my go to bait for Barbel.. not cheap tho is it... 😬... I'm thinking of trying meatballs on my next trip 😮
Which river is this? I fish the swale quite a bit but I’d love to rove on that river rolling meat etc

@@Mikethebarbelguy give it ago pal, the Barbel ain't huge here but they are pristine n fight like hell some good Chub too n the Perch are Big n in good numbers... the River is crystal clear so stalking them is way to go 👍🎣
