BIG River PERCH on the FLOAT..! RED LETTER Session on the River Severn!

- Join me as I target Perch on the float on the River Severn.. A quick 2 hour session turned into a very memorable trip to the banks of the Severn with multiple 2lb+ Perch!
See how I approach the session using very simple tactics, feeding lots of maggot and trotting a lob work down a really nice slack to trip up plenty of specimen size Perch.
The equipment & bait used is as follows -
Rod - Korum Glide 14ft
Reel - Abu Garcia 507 MkII Closed Face Reel
Line - Korum Glide Mono 6lb
Float - Korum 4g Avon Float (shot with a 2.75g olivette)
Hook - Size 8 Wipe Gape Pattern
Feed - Red Maggots (2-3 pints used)
Hookbaits - Lob Worms tipped with Red Maggot

A big perch is a big fish 🐟,,there ten a penny here in Scotland but the really big UN's are hard to catch 😮

Your in my favourite perch swim! Some three pounders in there.
It’s a great area for them - Repeat trip is on the cards soon hopefully once the clarity and level improve 👍🎣
Really enjoyed that video. Natural presenting skills in spades there. I noticed that when you net a fish you tend to drop the net slightly and the cord falls below the waterline which might result in an escapee or two. Do you think a round net might create a bit less drag in the water? Just a suggestion.

The weight of the lobworm balances the rig out nicely 👍
