- In this video we are trying to remove the ash deposits from our DPF with the help of MOTIP DPF cleaner from our Mercedes E 300 Hybrid ( S212 ).
We check the DPF data values with our ThinkDiag tool before and after the applying the cleaner and see the difference.

Update. I must say that the cleaner in the video probably does work and does reduce the ash content. This is because, when I did live diagnostics on this car again, a few months later, the ash content was already showing 0.32 g. This is quite a difference.
This means that this cleaner did help but the result could not be seen straight away but rather within some time.
you dont understand how ash calculation works! Car dont know about ash anything it just uses formula to calculate theoretical amount based on km driven and regenrations.. most important parameter is diff pressure yours is 70mBar @ 1500rpm. Hard to tell what have to be in your car while driving, but at idle it should be ~2mbar -less is better
That's a great video.
Thanks for the update as well.
Wanted to know what app you're using to carry out the diagnosis on your touch screen. Im guessing it's using a bluetooth OBD plug through the port being used.
Also what chemicals did you put through to the DPF.
Thank you.
The tool and the app is ThinkDiag. it's about 40 GBP per year per single car and yes, it is bluetooth. thank you
I thort there was no way of removing ash without taking the dpf off and cleaning it but your saying after months it cleared away slowly? I think I need to give this a try, how much did you pay for a can? Thanks
I do the staff described in this video during almost every service, and the ash content that my MB Star or ThinkDiag show, remains under 1g. As you can see in my latest video (at the 21st minute) : czcams.com/video/zJYiA1GzW58/video.html
@@mercedes-benz2127 how much did u pay for the dpf cleaner? And how many cans did u use? Thanks
@@kharali3475 it costs about 10gbp, usage 1 can. www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2334524.m570.l1313&_nkw=motip+dpi+cleaner&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_odkw=motip+dpi&_osacat=0
@@mercedes-benz2127 thanks, just purchased 2 cans as it worked out cheaper £15.99. Will try it next week
Tried one can today, put through the dpf pressure sensor hose, soot levels and ash still the same after driving for about a hour. Are you suppose to do a regen when you use this? Thanks
