  • Waakye is a Ghanaian dish of cooked rice and beans, commonly eaten for breakfast or lunch and others eat it for supper. However, it's popular dish around West Africa. The rice and beans, usually black-eyed peas or cow beans, are cooked together, along with red dried sorghum leaf sheaths or stalks and limestone.
Touring the Northern Region of Ghana, I'm excited to share my experience of waakye preparation with our wonderful energetic African Mothers. Please do enjoy this episode of the street food series.

Wow! So glad I found your channel. It was by accident, looking for the best recipe for Waakye. Then came across this video. This is my 1st time trying a Waakye Recipe. Looking forward to it. Unfortunately, living in the UK, it won't be as good as the street food in Ghana, because we don't have all the ingredients. Amazing video! Thank you
