Congratulations on finding the Roman solidus! Almost exactly thirty years ago my friend and I found 20 solidii including coins of valentinian II , all in an area of 2 square meters! Six of the coins were of the emperor Eugenius and were quite rare, They are now in the British museum. I strongly recommend that you thoroughly search that area because there is bound to be more seeing how perfect that coin looks. Thanks for reminding me of our great day . well done Tinner. HH

Fantastic find. Well done. However, it seems so many detectorists go to the field without a container with water they can wash the coins on the spot. Rubbing a soiled-covered coin on cloth can so easily soil it! Pun intended!!
Amazing. You are fortunate to have so much history around you. Here in the US most coins from 1700-1800s are considered "old" and are rare finds. I cannot imagine the age of those coins. I am a new subscriber the time frames quite well enough to know that they are just old. A suggestion for those of us farther away you might consider giving us an approximate such as 1100 or so. Congratulations on the gold!

He did, it was in the video at 5:37. the date is between 375-392 AD so maybe 1640 years old!
