My father would cry with happiness seeing your fantastic finds, if he was alive. I adore your video's and my favorites are the old Celtic items you find, they always take my breath away. Seeing some of your collection makes me wonder how much the Government has taken and put in the museum.
I just came across your channel and had to subscribe. Wow is all I can say. So much history and I always wonder about the people the items belonged to long ago. Thank you for sharing your treasures with us.
I have a great time watching your videos! how lucky you are to be able to collect and share between enthusiasts, us in France, the law is really stupid! I dream that one day we will be able to have the same laws as in England, and to be able to share with the communities of detectorists around the world. thank you for this sharing, soon on your videos;)
Hi tinner, great finds! By the looks of things one of your flint tools is a cordate handaxe (furthest back in shot) which is likely between 250-500 thousand years old, however, the others are much more recent. The largest tool at the front may be a mesolithic tranchet axe and the other two are likely to be Neolithic axe heads. Cheers, Finn
Hi tinner you have some really nice things there, your land is very rich with history. You and your dad have found some truly amazing finds, over the years. I hope I can find some of the beautiful things you and your dad have found. I use the same machines as you, and your dad do have the deus with the 13-11 inch coil and the 9 inch coil. I also have the xp orx aswell great machines. Your video was awesome, and i wish you and your dad great health and prosperity for this year, and 2021. Looking forward to seeing you and your dad out on future videos all the best bud 👍😊.
Wow amazing finds. That hare n hound knife handle is superb. Still can't believe you got that gold hammered in amongst all the holes on the muddy boots dig. We were there the week before also, so I missed it twice 🤦♂️ Hope to catch you in a field one day. Thanks for the vid 👌
A simply stunning collection. Good to hear you do not over clean. I imagine a lot of folk do not appreciate how much time it must have taken you to find. Well described and presented. An inspiration to all detectorists. Cheers and have a Happy Christmas to you and dad.
Wow. What a collection òf coins. I have been a Coin collector. Since about 10 yrs of age. And my collection is Nothing in Comparison. I would give a Kidney for just One of your Celtic or Saxon (Medieval ) coins. Stunning Collection, this Numismatist in Positively Green wiv Envy. Thanx so much for taking the time to Share with us all. All your Treasures are Stunning. Thx Tinner and Dad for all your efforts in Finding, Filming and Sharing. Cheers kim in Oz. 😎
This makes me want to get back out there with my detector when I can. I'm using a tessoro silver saber 2. Spanish brand I think. I have been going detecting with my dad since I was around 8 years old and I'm now 33. He's had a few roman coins and quite a few silver hammereds. My best find yet is an elizabeth silver hammered but in poor condition and a George 2nd 1700s coin. 👍 Amazing collection you have there👏
Thanks so much for going to the trouble of showing some of your collection, very interesting and very educational, and very nice as well, cheers from Aus Mark ;)
This was fascinating as well as educational. I love your videos but this was a special one showing all the history in one place. You have an amazing collection and an amazing sense of history and great knowledge. Thank you for sharing.
Chris, I've watched most of these finds come out of the ground in your videos and been hoping for a long time you would do something like this, many thanks, the video was brilliant. Cheers Stu from Wilts.
The great part of being a european country is the rich early history . In the USA some odd finds are occasionally found like a roman coin which was likely carried here by settlers. But in the UK and such you can find anything from earliest man to present. I quite enjoy this type of video just seeing how much stuff you have found. It represents 100's of hours and true dedication. Keep up the great work and keep those video's coming because we love them.
OMG I cannot believe the cool stuff you find!!! Amazing! I'm gonna have to come back to the UK just to metal detect now that you have ruined my puny finds for me. LOL Thanks for sharing such amazing finds. New subscriber here, you are my hero. Cricket
The two faced pipe tamper shows the dry british humour. Love it. TY for this video of such history broken down by time and classes. You are so fortunate to have such a wonderful collection. Who will inherit is all?
Hey there your axe heads will be Neolithic Mesolithic and go back prob about five thousand years. I collect the lower parolithic axes which start from 150,000 and go up to about 2.5million years old the pleistocene period I believe. But the Pleistocene period starts at about 11,000 years ago. I live in Suffolk and have found a few insitu which is quite rare. I have one I found in my picture
if you email me and dont hear back go on my channel and comment on my latest video and Ill get back the same way!!! youtube has a really poor system for creators to link up!!! :)
@27.05. If I found an Edward I quarter noble I would pack up detecting then retire and move to paradise and live out the rest of my life in abject luxury from the sale of the coin. 😂. Unfortunately no such coin exists so it is back to the daily toil. 😐. P.s. I would be in my element cleaning all those copper alloy objects ( obviously not back to brass just gently removing the crud and soil from all the crevices ) then oiling them, they look so much better than leaving them as dug. You have a good collection there. I am not to far behind you with finds. 😊. Your comment about the pas well I would go further and say I wouldn't trust an archaeologist with making a cup of tea. 😨.
@@tinner455 yes, that's the one. Thank you! We're actually having it looked at by a reputable coin collector now, so I can't send a pic. But you answered my question. Thanks again!!
no i was saying they were found by the roman and celts and used as decorations or interesting finds for them too so if you come across a concentration in a field it could be a good sign of habitation cheers chris
I found one last week 10 m from the entrance to a popular holiday beach sunbathing right on the top of the sand. Other modern coins around the same little area but under the sand. I went there looking for a roman coin because someone found one a couple of weeks before on a beach further along but I was testing the detector out first before going further along. It is always surprising when you find something like that. Right coin found purely by chance on the wrong beach. I have searched that beach since the early 1970s and that is the first roman.
Hello friend, I am French I detect in France, I would like to have your help please, could you give me some tips to choose a good spot. thank you in advance.

really enjoyed that thanks

That's an amazing collection. How many years of detecting do these represent?
I'd love to do this as a hobby.
about 25 years
What was the name of the large, thick coin that you showed? A copper, I believe you said. And where can I find information on them as I may have one.
if it was the large romann its a sestertius if not put up time slot so i can see which one please
@@tinner455 yes, that's the one. Thank you! We're actually having it looked at by a reputable coin collector now, so I can't send a pic. But you answered my question. Thanks again!!
The pope turning into the devil, that was an interesting find.
cheers
Fantastic! How do i clean your coins?
1.000,000 years? i don't think so. Mesolithic at best 12,000 years in the U.K. Still old though.
Are you saying the sea urchins were put there.? Not left over from the laat ice age?
no i was saying they were found by the roman and celts and used as decorations or interesting finds for them too so if you come across a concentration in a field it could be a good sign of habitation cheers chris
We’re did you send of your quarter noble to be repaired because I have one in similar condition that is folded.
tinner1963@btinternet.com drop me an email i will give you his contacts cheers
Great stuff. Are you sure about a million years?
not really but not far off

And what is meant by “voided” long or short cross?
It amazes me how the people accept royalty, to begin with. I'm still confused about why they are seen as anything special. Nice finds by the way.
What is the significance of a long cross and a short cross?
just subscribe to your channel amazing video

Who in the world gave a thumbs downs!!!??
