I'd like to see the documentation that home health was denied due to bed bugs, and a doctor's letter about her 'neck surgery' is requiring being homebound.

Yes! I’m one of them! And a former critical care nurse who also did home health as a second job to pay for my education. My house has some clutter but no garbage, no bugs. I’m in the process of selling anything I don’t absolutely need so I can start paying someone to clean and help maintain my home to sanitary standards.

Yes I have 10 cats and 8 litter boxes and clean them at least every 2 hours. I'm retired so I'm able to care for them correctly. I always feel so bad for the cats or any animals for that matter when people don't take care of them.
No chance? Simpson is extremely fair to tenants sometimes to the point it's an unfair burden on the landlord. He is more than willing to try to nudge landlords if the tenant gives even a hint of really trying to help themselves and work things out. The defendant needs to grow up.

We have problem tenants here too. I got bedbugs from one of my neighbors- everybody in my building did. We all threw out our furniture!! We all also helped each other with the packing up,that you need to do before treatments We all kept our fingers crossed that we would not get them again! These people are slobs and whiners. They want things done but do nothing but complain about circumstances. Just get it done or move!!

Have worn a brace like that. Idea is to prevent your neck from turning. Hers seem to turn just fine. I had 3 vertical disks removed and could care for myself just fine while wearing my brace

I have moved across the US with little to no furniture, including NO couch, NO mattress, no chairs, no table. And at times I had no money for a furniture. What did I do? I sat on the dang floor. I slept on the floor. I sat on the floor and held my plate while I ate. I have a very nice couch and a very nice mattress now in my very nice house. If that couch or mattress became infested or there was a probability it was infested, it would be gone from my house, ASAP, whether or not another couch or mattress was waiting in the wings. This guy doesn't need a couch, especially if it was the difference between having a roof over his head or eviction. Especially where Sec 8 was on the line. Priorities, dude, priorities. Maybe he'll get it right in his next place, assuming he finds one.

Once in an apartment, I started seeing little black bugs which I thought were some type of beetle. I also saw what I now know to be the species called German cockroaches. At first it was infrequent, a few times a week, then almost every day. I couldn't figure out where they were coming from and eventually called management to send an exterminator. The Terminix guy showed up and educated me on cockroaches. The little black bugs were baby German roaches. Given the number I saw and the cleanliness of my apartment he theorized that I didn't have an infestation. He came back every week for SIX weeks. He told management the infestation was elsewhere. Turns out he was right. The tenants in the apartment adjacent to mine had an infestation due to uncleanliness and leaving food out till it spoiled. He also told me the infestation next door was so bad the roaches were in the carpeting and what I was seeing in my place was a spillover. Thanks neighbor. Really appreciate your attention to cleanliness. (Sarcasm) Thanks truly to the Terminix guy for the help and the education.
That’s the downside of apartment living. I’ve lived in a place where management refused to spray for pests because they were too lazy to notify all the tenants in the building. There were eight apartments to a building. 🤨

I train bedbug detection dogs and I see this kind of stuff all of the time. The guy at the end has said that it was his couch that had all of the bedbugs in it so what’s the problem??? The ONLY way to get rid of them is to use heat. They will come in and use propane heat and raise the temperature to 140 degrees for a few hours and the bed bugs will be gone. One treatment in one day.
Ugg…stale cat urine is the worst! I remember as a kid, I had a friend whose grandmother had a bunch of cats. I couldn’t even go in the house without getting nauseous. I still remember that damn smell. Oh, and I agree with others who think her neck brace is a sympathy ploy. What a deadbeat grifter.

your right! i grew up very, very poor and when me and my mom and siblings lived in Florida, we sometimes had roaches (and i don't mean the little ones, i'm talking huge!) and we knew people who had bedbug infestations and my mom refused to let them come over or even come close to them in public because the term ''bedbugs'' doesn't mean they only live in beds, they can get into everything! clothing, electronics, appliances and so on and you can carry them with you into other homes or businesses.
That was my first thought. And then to watch the son sit there and dig around in a backpack or whatever it is through the whole thing... I have visions of them just pouring out of that thing. And maybe that was the plan?? I'm a tad suspicious because it felt like the son really got active when it became apparent that Dad had lost. Horrifying!!
The old man's son was scratching himself for most of the hearing! At one point he stood up and was scratching his crotch!!!!! obviously, the old man, his son, and the old woman are incapable of taking care of themselves. Throw all of the things away and put them assisted living.
This guy is clearly a heavy smoker and needs to see a doctor asap. My grandfather and a co-worker had a voice just like this and it was laryngeal cancer. I can only imagine what condition the property is in. The smoke damage alone will cost a fortune to clean up.
I am SOOOOO thankful that I have never had one of these in any of my units. I have had clients that have been in this situation, and judges like Judge Simpson are a hinderance to the owners. Infestations like this can spread, and then they have other units with issues.
Can the landlord sue the tenant for the bedbugs and cat urine smell in the apartment? I had 10 cats and cleaning with having 10 cats is a 24/7 job. You can prep for roaches and bed bugs both by CLEANING YOUR HOME. There may be different ways to prep, but the bottom line is that they both require you to clean up your frigging pig stye.
And you have to stay after it. Can't clean for a day and expect them to be gone. We had a flea infestation last summer and it took constant care and treatment at a great expense to get rid of them.

This lady needs a mental health case worker. She can’t get elder services as long as the bedbugs are there and she can’t take appropriate action without assistance. They have to treat the whole building at once, because doing it piecemeal the bugs migrate between the units.

I’ve done home health in the past. Homes like this were our worst nightmare! We brought newspaper in to sit on and I stripped in the garage and left clothes outside to rid of vermin before bringing them into the house to wash them. Shoes off. Fumigated my car regularly. I would decline houses like this after the first visit. Since it was part time, I was able to refuse shifts. The neck brace is for sympathy. It’s size appears to be for a tall adult male. It’s way too high and way too loose. Makes me believe she’s trying it for sympathy. She needs to be kicked out! I am disabled and struggle to maintain my home, but definitely don’t have bug issues! Even with fostering dogs. I’m paranoid about that stuff.

No, bed bugs can not be dealt with if your place is littered. Judge Simpsons always gives the tenant excessive breaks and opportunities. Sometimes his one sided decisions bothers me, because it usually means that the landlord losses out. Yet there are tenants who still pretend to be treated unfairly. Even this judge can only go so far.
The agency can’t send anyone to her home with the bed bugs and placing the workers in danger of being bit or carrying those home with them. They can’t even place her in a nursing home temporarily because she could infest the nursing home. This woman is making things hard for everyone. Where is her family ?

Especially if they were an only child... and even if not... people don't realize what an achievement it is to survive to your 50th birthday. I get that she has issues and needs help but she won’t get that help until the house is safe. In the end if she doesn’t get the help they will most likely place her in an assistance living place that isn’t in the best neighborhood or the best care. It’s a shame that this goes on but you can’t have bed bugs and conditions that are harmful to the help. The help goes home to home. They take them bed bugs with them and then there is a larger issue. your right! i grew up very, very poor and when me and my mom and siblings lived in Florida, we sometimes had roaches (and i don't mean the little ones, i'm talking huge!) and we knew people who had bedbug infestations and my mom refused to let them come over or even come close to them in public because the term ''bedbugs'' doesn't mean they only live in beds, they can get into everything! clothing, electronics, appliances and so on and you can carry them with you into other homes or businesses.

That was my first thought. And then to watch the son sit there and dig around in a backpack or whatever it is through the whole thing... I have visions of them just pouring out of that thing. And maybe that was the plan?? I'm a tad suspicious because it felt like the son really got active when it became apparent that Dad had lost. Horrifying!!

The environment some people choose to live in is insane to me.
This guy is clearly a heavy smoker and needs to see a doctor asap. My grandfather and a co-worker had a voice just like this and it was laryngeal cancer. I can only imagine what condition the property is in. The smoke damage alone will cost a fortune to clean up.

I am SOOOOO thankful that I have never had one of these in any of my units. I have had clients that have been in this situation, and judges like Judge Simpson are a hinderance to the owners. Infestations like this can spread, and then they have other units with issues.
Instead of calling everybody and their mother, how about she pick up a vacuum, Clean her place up, get rid of the SMELL and.....wash your dang hair‼️

Can the landlord sue the tenant for the bedbugs and cat urine smell in the apartment? I had 10 cats and cleaning with having 10 cats is a 24/7 job. It's nonstop cleaning .another thing it's not the landlord fault for her causing bedbugs nor the landlord problems that tenant is lazy and refuse to seek help .tenant put all this on herself. No sympathy here . This lady wants free rent .
You can prep for roaches and bed bugs both by CLEANING YOUR HOME. There may be different ways to prep, but the bottom line is that they both require you to clean up your frigging pig stye.
And you have to stay after it. Can't clean for a day and expect them to be gone. We had a flea infestation last summer and it took constant care and treatment at a great expense to get rid of them.
The amount of entertainment that we get from Judge Simpsons misery is over the top, we all need to buy him a fine bottle of Whiskey or something.

This lady needs a mental health case worker. She can’t get elder services as long as the bedbugs are there and she can’t take appropriate action without assistance.
They have to treat the whole building at once, because doing it piecemeal the bugs migrate between the units.

The son can't stop scratching himself, multiple times he stood up and scratched his balls like he has bedbug bites all over. All these people give me the creeps. I hope I never get to this state and cause such a burden on my family and the system. It's embarrassing.

I’ve done home health in the past. Homes like this were our worst nightmare! We brought newspaper in to sit on and I stripped in the garage and left clothes outside to rid of vermin before bringing them into the house to wash them. Shoes off. Fumigated my car regularly. I would decline houses like this after the first visit. Since it was part time, I was able to refuse shifts. The neck brace is for sympathy. It’s size appears to be for a tall adult male. It’s way too high and way too loose. Makes me believe she’s trying it for sympathy. She needs to be kicked out! I am disabled and struggle to maintain my home, but definitely don’t have bug issues! Even with fostering dogs. I’m paranoid about that stuff.

No, bed bugs can not be dealt with if your place is littered.
Judge Simpsons always gives the tenant excessive breaks and opportunities. Sometimes his one sided decisions bothers me, because it usually means that the landlord losses out. Yet there are tenants who still pretend to be treated unfairly. Even this judge can only go so far.
Middleton is the same way. Landlords lose out far too long.

The agency can’t send anyone to her home with the bed bugs and placing the workers in danger of being bit or carrying those home with them. They can’t even place her in a nursing home temporarily because she could infest the nursing home. This woman is making things hard for everyone. Where is her family ?
The scary fact about reaching that age, many of us who do will not have any family left to speak of. Especially if they were an only child... and even if not... people don't realize what an achievement it is to survive to your 50th birthday. About half of my graduating class hasn't been able to make that milestone, for one reason or another. The world is out to kill you, every day, in every way... and one day, it'll succeed.
@@LoneWolfUsul I am running toward 60 and I take care of my dad who is 83 and has cancer. I know how hard it is first hand. I’m also a geriatric nurse so the also gives me insight. I get that she has issues and needs help but she won’t get that help until the house is safe. In the end if she doesn’t get the help they will most likely place her in an assistance living place that isn’t in the best neighborhood or the best care. It’s a shame that this goes on but you can’t have bed bugs and conditions that are harmful to the help. The help goes home to home. They take them bed bugs with them and then there is a larger issue. It just can’t be done.
