A general laborer is a no skill worker who is hired to clean up work sites (usually construction) take out the trash, separate scrap into roll off containers, just, etc. My son is a senior construction superintendent who travels all over the United States building multi million dollar projects and he hires General Laborers all the time to clean the work sites and manage trash and roll off containers. I just talked to him and he said that the type of people who are general laborers are usually poorly educated and are non skilled. He said that most of them only last a day or two and he never sees them again. However he did say that he has occasionally seen some who really worked hard and if they lasted he recommended a pay raise and looked for ways that they could get ahead in life and get skilled in a trade that they seemed interested in.
Your son is 100% correct. I am a PM and estimator for a GC, we had to stop using the labor pool because they 90% of the time cost the job site more than we paid(damages, hiding, getting us in trouble with the property, etc.). We now directly hire laborers with incentive to learn a trade and make more money, works better that way. We still every once and a while use the pool, and poach the good guys, which is easy because if we hire them they typically immediately get a 3-5 dollar an hour raise from what the pool paid

My baby daddy is a deadbeat with 3 women simultaneously 🤣 I was the 1st to have his children at 16 & again at 18 yrs old & the 1st to run, we’re 25 now & idk how the hell he convinced a 2nd woman let alone a THIRD to birth & raise his children alone as I do 😫🤣 the warning signs were there for them, he never saw our 2 kids let alone ever supported them. I even gave them a 1 time warning to be careful with him & they BOTH told me he’s better for them than he was for me because he wasn’t meant for me. Like WHAT? & They were grown women with that “I’m better than you” mindset at the time he trapped them

As was already said, he took a layoff because they cannot garnish his wife's wages. Can they not garnish the tax refund? Also, when you are on zoom court, you are in court. I would also find the wife in contempt, if that can be done. Also, when I was on unemployment, I could not just say I had filled out job applications, I had to PROVE it.

He’s simply a joy……a treasure for sure. And they should be made to show actual proof that they’ve put in applications for jobs. And he could have already gotten his GED before now. He sounds like a deadbeat and seems to be perfectly content staying at home. He’s a screwup and sounds like she’s fine with it. I get she’s not there but judge should have held both of them in contempt. If he had the money to bond out then why not take it and pay child support. These judges need to crack down on these people instead of threatening to hold them in contempt. It’s a bunch of “talk”…..idle threats. Judge still giving him chances. So now he’s gonna come up with $250 today to keep his buyout of jail. Some of these judges should get tougher….they’re a joke.

I cannot tell you how many people walk into my office believing what this guy believes about family courts and mothers. I also cannot tell you how satisfying it is to go with them to court and prove them wrong.

This is why I am always skeptical when men say the court is always biased against fathers. It's clear as day that this dad is voluntarily not working, acting like giving any support to HIS child is unfair to him, yet he accuses the court of being biased against him.

I have an idea why people won't hire him. Very belligerent, can't keep his mouth shut, even got into an argument with potential employer, two parent household and not a high school diploma between them, and "he doesn't have the best vocabulary". Wife sounds like a real gem, too.

How did he lose his driver's license? So the kids he lives with our his step children. His only child he doesn't pay for. His wife knew he had a child when he married her I would be interested to know if she get child support for her two kids. If he didn't get the notice I guess he should be giving his address to the court because it sounds like he moved. I like how he made it sound like he was trying so hard to get a job but then after they questioned him it comes out he took the lay off and it is him making sure the kids get off the bus and he can't drive. Sounds like a winner to me.
