The operator probably heard the guy’s name and didn’t want to cooperate. It happens often to Muslims just because people are islamophobic. Overall, the situation and everyone involved are terrible.

These dispatchers should NOT be allowed to treat any call like this. It's their job to get facts and send help, not argue over details like if the phone is charged or whether or not they personally believe someone is in danger.
The amount of times I've heard these emergency calls where the operator sarcastically talks back, hangs up, dismisses someone, argues with them, or claims it's a prank when there is obvious distress is TOO HIGH and they should be held accountable imo.

typically during 999 calls the operator will stay on the phone after police/paramedics have been dispatched in order to keep the victim calm and advise them on what to do in that situation (instructing on how to do CPR, etc). the questions often seem irrelevant and it is extremely frustrating as a caller but there isn’t much the operator can do after sending help. also, calls are recorded and can therefore provide important evidence/additional information if emergency services are too late.
the only victim here was the innocent friend who drove him. calling this stalking blackmailer's actions "a little odd" is absurd.

Dying doesn't automatically make you a good person in life. We need to be honest about it. This abusive individual, just like the others involved in this crime (excluding Hashim), were not necessarily honorable human beings. It's offensive to use positive terms to describe someone who harassed, blackmailed, and abused, with the intention of making the audience feel compassion for such a person.

I was stalked for 8 years and no-one would/could help. It's a living nightmare. Why didn't the stalker tell the emergency services why they were chasing him? He didn't deserve to be murdered, but I think MORE emphasis needs to be on how he seemingly stalked/followed prior to the affair, screenshot & saved explicit photos without consent, blackmailed a person with said explicit photos threatening to made them PUBLIC to get a relationship. This is beyond the murderers wanting to "save their image". He threatened to make nude pics go viral. He was abusive.
Going beyond this case, there are cases out there that even when victims called the cops on such threats, the cops either ignored, slut shame the victim, or took insufficient actions and gave the perpetrator time to actually post the pics.

I think there’s a lot of context needed in this case. I’m in the US and I was stalked by a former friend who wanted more and he attacked me. I had evidence galore and they did nothing. The police just said they couldn’t help me. For quite a while I slept with a shotgun by my bed because I would call the police and say he was at my house and I was afraid and they wouldn’t come. Then my ex stalked me for several years after I left. Again, no help. I’m not saying murder is ok, but I’ve been in the place where I was prepared to do whatever it took to save my own life. The number of calls and the context of those calls from the “victim” is extremely telling.

It's infuriating that ppl are downplaying his blackmail, revenge prn, stalking and harassment. Sure he didn't deserve to get k!ll because of it, and both the mom and daughter deserved to be locked up in jail for what they did, but what he did is also 100% wrong, there's no way to justify it. I just hope that you put more emphasis on how bad his behavior was, that's all i want. Most people agree and the comment section are talking about the seriousness of his actions, but I think is not more mentioned in the video because he is already dead so there's nothing that the justice system can do(not that they do something about it when it comes to victims, unfortunately). Hi your absolutely are right I'm from UK. All the ladies had to do was report it to the police. The police would have arrested Saqib for blackmailing. It's awful 2 life's were taken. Here in the UK I live in a different city. But where these ladies are from people want them to be released. How awful is that. But they are not getting out anytime soon. The mom got 21 years and the daughter got 23 years in jail.

I'm not saying all Desi people are like this, but it is common in some communities. Women who don't want to marry someone or who have a boyfriend are killed out of "honor." The wife and daughter could have faced that. It doesn't excuse what they did but that's most likely why they did it. I'm also not saying the husband would for sure do that but he could have. An "accident" could be arranged for them. Just how easily the daughter got a group of people to take out the guy, that could happen to them. Again, not excusing their behavior, just explaining. The 44 year old women had an affair that lasted more than 2 years with a *barely adult* male, and then was not willing to suffer the consequences of her actions. She could have just reported him. Having an affair isn't illegal.

Caring, kind, and compassionate does not accurately describe someone who stalked, abused, and blackmailed. Those actions were not “a little odd” Stephanie. You have to also take into account the mother is someone who lives in a conservative house surrounded by a conservative community. She was married off at a young age to someone she likely didn’t know and had to start having babies. I’m not saying affairs are ok at all. I am saying context is needed. I agree. Describing the stalker's actions as "a little odd" is vastly and almost insultingly making light of his actions. While I'm not saying that he needed to die for his actions, time and again, police have been shown to be next to useless in helping the victim of stalkers and the legal system is ill equipped to protect the poor men and women that are victims of this type of crime. It's not as black and white as Stephanie is making it out to be.

Hard agree, that was an odd take. In the community they live in, where obviously everyone thought jumping someone to teach them a lesson is a perfectly reasonable thing to do on a random weekend, you don't know what the consequences for the mom from this blackmailing would have been. From some incidents in the Muslim community in my country and the group around her that we know of, she might have had legitimate fears for her own life and safety.
Of course, you shouldn't murder someone or have extramarital affairs, but this might have been a situation that is hard to understand for someone who wasn't part of this group or ever in such a situation.
My cousin had a dangerous stalker once, and we all took turns staying with her until he was put into jail, which was a long time. I am glad we live in a community where we were able to talk about it openly, he was just her obsessed neighbour with whom she had coffee one time, but if he had attacked her again and I was there, I don't know if I wouldn't have given him a less than gentle bump with my car.
I just feel bad for Hasheem. Like the rest of the people are anywhere from "kinda' twisted" to "what the heck is going on with them???" But it didn't seem like Hashim did anything particularly wrong, and cannabis can be used for more than just recreational properties, oh, and the son. His experience must have been terrifying considering he didn't know what the heck was happening.

Having an affair if you’re in an arranged marriage isn’t as bad as having an affair in a normal marriage where you’re cheating on someone that you chose. If you want someone to marry you without even meeting you first and not even knowing if you’re compatible or not, I think you’re lying to yourself if you really expect NOT to get cheated on. She was a young girl who didn’t get the chance to be a young adult when she was one. And they didn’t choose each other so they don’t owe each other anything in that sense. They do owe each other honesty just because of how entangled their lives are, especially after having kids together. But you can’t be offended at getting cheated on in an arranged marriage to the same extent that you’d be offended at getting cheated on by someone who fell in love with you and chose to be with you.

I don’t think everyone is saying he deserved to be murdered but people don’t want this false image of him. People can see why this pisses people off, or makes them want to respond in a certain way. I’ve watched this story on another platform and I almost passed on this video. However the way you tell stories is just amazing and hearing it from you was like ive never heard it before.. lol still shocked and all. ❤

I don't feel an ounce of sympathy for the murdered villain, he played with fire and it burned him up. Revenge porn isn't something that courts take seriously enough, and the two women probably thought they wouldn't be believed. Stephanie missed the mark on this case. This wasn't a soured business deal or a broken friendship, but a sociopathic callous creep who wanted to ruin both women's names and reputations both online and in the Pakistani community. The sort of community that sees life through a very narrow lens, and who has a very medieval archaic view on women's bodies. I see it as justified killing. It's only unfortunate that the driver and acquaintances were foolish enough to get roped in.
I can't understand why she woulddo this for her PUBLIC IMAGE like if the secret gets out, sure it'll make things hard. But if people find out about you MURDERING 2 PEOPLE, that's going to make your public image disgusting! and people would hate you.

Stephanie, I usually love your coverage of these cases but I feel a little put off by this one. 100% none the victims deserved to die, and both mother and daughter should pay for planning and commiting murder. However, I feel that it is not right to completely brush off the stalking, harassment and revenge porn (even the deep fakes) as "a little odd" and instead present him as a kind and compassionate person when his actions only show that he was a misogynistic, selfish and abusive liar who thought he could get away with blackmailing his ex bc she broke up with him. Does it mean he should've been killed? No, absolutely not. But let's not present him as a nice and kind person when in reality he wasn't. As others have mentioned the only true innocent victim here is his friend that died by being nice and offering to give him a ride.
This is not an easy subject to touch up on, especially when you’re trying to balance it out without making it sound like the man deserved to be murdered. I think that if Stephanie has spoken up on misogyny before in the past, it’s obvious that she does not stand for it. It’s a hard case to explain to someone without making it sound like you’re picking a side because BOTH parties involved were in the wrong.
Well I rewatched th video and in no segment does she say anything that disagrees with what you're saying.
@@citoyenneteavanttout7273 it's the way she simplifies this as something that can be done with just 'reporting to the police' when you know police doesn't exactly have best record to handle cases like this. what the mom does is awful, but his action is definitely not 'a little odd' as what steph did say about his behavior. undermining what he does is like literally ??? to every victim of stalking out there who doesn't resort to murder which is not okay
I feel it is not right to brush off the fact that a 44 year old woman was having sex with an 18 year old, and had been for a prolonged period so the affair may well have began when he was under 18 and so according to the laws of the UK a *CHILD*. Which part of 44 year old women having sex with a person who was a teenager and she found out was a teenager but still had sex with him is wrong do you not understand?

I don't care if the "police don't have a good record". That's an excuse. She could have reported it. Her daughter could have reported it.They never even tried, instead they planned a murder, and bought together a group of their criminal friends (one of whom was a rapist) and carried it out in a manner which endangered the lives of the pubic (its a miracle they didn't cause a major accident chasing somone one a public highway) and took the life of an innocent person.
