Yeah like I saw a really well made gay fanfiction of Hanzo and MCcree (Cassidy) from Overwatch on CZcams. A lot of people enjoyed the really creative plot and use of their actual game personalities. But no one in the comments was screaming for it to be cannon. Same could be said for Reaper and 76. I saw some great stories with them on CZcams but I was annoyed when they made 76 officially gay. I was like no... there's always been a love triangle between him, Ana, and Reinhardt. I'm bisexual and refused to accept that nonsense lol.

Ive had a lot of people try and gaslight me into thinking that the behavior we see in Hoyoverse game fandoms is "normal fandom behavior" but even with how bad fandoms can be, I have yet to see a single one be as bad as whatever is going on in Hoyoverse's fandoms. Even among your expected fandom behavior what we see out of Hoyoverse fans is insane. Cant name any other fandom ive been given death threats and harassed in for the cardinal sin of simply being a straight man. Hell ive even seen some groups spy on other group's discords to dig up dirt to use against them in whatever ship war they are having that week like its the cold war.

The best part about all of this, is they are attacking anyone who dare says this character isn't a lesbian, yet one of the new trailers shows she's clearly on a date with a guy. So these people made up a head canon and are defending a narrative that probably isn't even true. On top of this, the character isn't REAL

Not to also mention that Robin was geeking out over Boothill during the 2.2 dev stream

i had a conversation with one of these people. the person tried very hard to convince me that the tectone tweet was a problem because "what if it were a real woman". every time i responded with "yeah, but it's a video game character and not real", they would come back with some vague "you don't understand the problem", and when i asked them to actually STATE why this was a problem, i got blocked. i have been mean online before, but in this particular case i didn't use any crude language or insults (i was genuinely curious about how their delusion operated). all i did was point out that she is a fictional character, which was a bridge too far.
i thought the mental illness that was advertised in this community was exaggerated... but holy shit... Hoyoverse is doing a major public service by keeping these people contained and distracted. i have been in plenty of nerd fandoms and interacted with some... dedicated fans, but this interaction was an interesting and new level of strange.

This was cooking since last year with these two characters called Dan Heng and Blade and how mad they got at the reveal that both were in love with a girl from their past over being "married to each other" as they kept insisting was "canon." They were the first sign of the route this fanbase will take. Which is the exact same route that Genshin's one went.
One can't practically log into their Twitter now, have feed from HSR without seeing one of these special Twitter schizos screeching about how somebody disrespected "canon" sexuality/paring of theirs in this game. From harassing 16 year old girl until she took down her twitter because she shipped "gay" man with a girl (Aventurine and Topaz), to seeing Tectone's name trend trillion times because someone fell out of their bad while sleeping and decided that Tectone was at fault for it.

Plus like a queer associate of mine said, he disliked the ship from the jump before there was even much content or lore on them because of how toxic and unreciprical it was and I agree, I didnt like it either, personally I found Dancae and Danmarch far more appealing, they personally have way more chemistry, Renheng just feels like forced angst from their past lives that Dan heng doesnt want anything to do with, hes actively RAN from his past and chose to come back and stay on the express, I dunno how it could be any clearer that Dan fengs feelings and Dan hengs feelings are completely different, theres so many in game hints Dan heng really doesnt want to engage with Blade like that, their relationship is very one sided yet ppl ship the hell outta them because their past lives were alot closer and try to force that same relationship onto Renheng when that just isnt the case, Dan heng wants his own identity and to move on from his past while Blade is literally stuck in the past and constantly trying to pull Dan heng back to the past with him, literally by FORCE most of the time, I dont see how thats 'romantic' to so many ppl but whatever, their all insane regardless.

Today I fully understood Tectone's Genshin Impact Villain arc, and learned that he's been the protagonist this entire time.

A lot of the characters in HSR act very flirty to the main character. It does not matter which MC you picked. Genshin Impact made hangout quests, very date-like quests with a single other character.
