      More cache doesn't immediately Translate to better performance.
      Intel's cache is literally laid out flat on the CCD, making its physical contact farther away from CPU cores-especially P Cores.
      AMD's Cache is stacked on top of main CCD cores. Making its physical contact distance shorter. Shorter distance alone already making huge difference in IPC. Because the electrons doesn't have to travel too far away. That's why Overclocking any x3D CPU from AMD will immediately revoke warranty. Because they also create foolproof measure on the CPU die to detect whether or not it's overclocked.

    As an XOC guy myself I would like to share a few words of my own first this guy has paired the 14900ks with ddr5 6000 which is not the highest speed ram which it can support unlike the r7 7800x3d which would not even show any difference with any faster ram because its already reached the limits of the infinity fabric so by this what I want is while the 7800x3d is paired with the fastest possible ram it can support which would actually make a difference the 14900ks on the other hand is not so just to make this comparision a little bit more even pair it with atleast ddr5 7200 also you've told that you have undervolted the 14900ks and with my experience with overclocking and also undervolting the 14900ks it works best with the voltage it comes out of the box with about 1.4V if you try to downclock or undervolt this cpu it will make it perform worse undervolting the 14900ks only makes sense if you don't have enough cooling capacity but then why even bother buying the 14900ks also you've told us absolute nothing about which motherboard you are using for the r7 since mobos could make a difference too that matters as well and lastly it is the SP of the cores of both of the processor you've got that matters also your i9 might have worse cores that other i9's and your r7 might have better cores from other r7's and from all this I don't necessairly mean that either one of them is worse the 7800x3d is the best processor for gaming both in it's price point and from AMD andis meant more for consumers who plays games more than tinkering with settings in bios while 14900ks is meant for enthusiast like myself who like bios and making and breaking records more than playing games but what I'm saying is the 7800c3d is paired with the best it could support while the 14900ks is not and one last more thing which I would like to add is that $749 pricetag might not be worth it to consumers but to us it is I mean almost
    PS- r7 7800x3d is the best gaming processor for normal consumers while the 14900ks is the best gaming processor for enthusiasts although it was not meant to be a gaming processor but rather some to break oc records on
    PPS- don't mind any mistakes in it, it was a handful typing this
    Edit: also I see people in the comments taking about power consumption and to that I would say the reason intel processor in whole not only consumes more power but also performs worse than they were meant to is cuz they are on an older processor node compared to AMD and now I know many people will say why pay more for an older process node so that's a whole other debate topic which I don't even wanna get into
    Edit 2- Y'all don't say I don't even own a 14900ks to begin with I've got 8 of em yes 8 I bought 8 to test those 8 14900ks's seperately and then keep the one with the best silicon or the god bin one and sell the others to my homies for cheaper

      Agreed on the RAM Speed being a Handicap for Intel but at least lets agree that the efficiency for the work is ridiculously low.. 50% Usage at 210watts vs 80% Usage at 85watts? • @XTheGaimzX
      @XTheGaimzX Před měsícem

      To start, this comparison IS fair to have the same ram speed. Letting the intel have faster speed is very clearly not making it fair LOL. 4 months ago eTeknix released a video comparing the i9-14900k with the 7800x3d and albeit its a 14900k and not 14900ks, your theory about memory speed was proven wrong on nearly every title he tested (42) especially when it came to 4k resolution. The 7800x3d managed to beat the 14900k in most titles using 7600mhz cl38 ram for both cpus, which performed worse on the amd than the 6000mhz cl30 ram it prefers. Also, theres games that benefit from 6000mhz+ ram speed on the 7800x3d, that is not the max speed it can support. The 7800x3d is the best gaming cpu PERIOD. If you have to spend 2.5x as much, draw 2-3x the power, run 25% faster ram and generate 2-3x the heat just to perform equal or 1% better in gaming, you lost. the 14900ks is the best for overclocking records like you said but if its for gaming go x3d. czcams.com/video/-Wkr3FV50xI/video.html video for reference

For solo games at 1440p and 4k, it's a GPU limited scenario where there is no difference between all last gen CPUs. I am not interested in overclocking as I live in hot country (during summer months) so this is an extra plus point for switching to AMD. Only thing is I've seen in YT that there are some issues with some combinations of certain mobos with AMD cpus they can slowly cook/fry the cpu (and even the mobo itself) even on stock settings.. RAM Speed being equal on Both handicap Intel so this is best case scenario for AMD.
      7800X3D can only support 6000mhz memory while the 14900KS can do over 8000mhz.

      As a simple answer - not really.
      If we'd dig a bit deeper, then IF Windows gonna finally start to work correctly with the difference in normal cores and the things called "e-cores" by Intel + IF Game devs and engines gonna start to make and split tasks based on the core types correctly + IF we'll leave in the perfect world, where's possible to predict 100% of scenarios, and preventevly manage them to run on correct threads, then, theoretically, you could have a small boost instead of a trouble by all this additional e-cores. As an example - FX cpus, which came with their multi-threading much earlier then the industry got ready for that. But, till and IF all the things gonna happen, there for sure will be another cpus with 2-3 times lower price, which are able to do all this things much batter, so there's no point to buy high-end Intel p+e cores cpus right now "for the future" for it's overprice, if you aren't satisfied by the performance here and now. However, we have to admit better multi-tasking potential of Intel in this concrete comparison, cuz e-cores could take side-processes, as Google Chrome on background while your're playing, or whatever. But still, if we have to search for SUCH pluses with twice more expensive cpu - doesn't really worth it :D

      Most games dont use a fraction of the cores cpu's have today. The extra cores arent for gaming but production. So thats not likely to change as the cpu's get older. It's why they always use the *800x series Ryzen instead of the *950x version.

    • @sharkey9
      @sharkey9 Před měsícem

      Don't let the usage% fool you.
      For the whole picture you'd need to see all cores in the graph, not just the average usage shown in the video.
      Let's say your CPU has 20 cores and only one of those is at 100% while the other cores do nothing, the average shown will be super low. But that 1 core at 100 will make your game stutter.
      The Ryzen has "only" 8 cores so the average shown will always be higher.

    I don't quite get all the negative comments on intel.
    14900k is not focused on gaming. It does a good job ALSO at gaming but is a productivity and multi-tasking monster. 7800x3D is a gaming CPU with all of it's 8 cores available for 3D v-cache. It has a crazy 96Mb of L3 cache and it is also advertised as a gaming processor.
    It has one primary purpuse and does the job extremely well.
    7800x3D - 10/10 for gaming and 7/10 for productivity
    14900k - 9/10 for gaming and 10/10 for produvtivity
    7950x3D - 9.5/10 for gaming and 8.5/10 for productivity (it also has 8 cores for v-cache, like 7800x3D but requires more fiddling to get all the cores active for games, 7800x3d is plug and play, but in the end it gets similar performance as 7800x3d, perhaps 1% lower results on average).
    This is the reason why 14900k is 3x the price of 7800x3D...because it can also do much more stuff that is not related for gaming.
    If you are like me and you are building a PC tower solely for gaming purpuse, get 7800x3D and save some money.
