The fan jumping up and down when Ron won the World Heavyweight Championship will forever live in my memory.
That’s what wrestling is all about.
Mine too! ❤
No doubt, same here!! I would be nice to hear something from that today.
Yeah 🤘
I remember seeing that as a young black kid, and being so excited about his win. And Jim Ross on commentary was great too.
With all due respect to Ric Flair and his match against theTotal Package, the greatest carry job ever is Randy Savage dragging the Ultimate Warrior through a 20 minute classic at Wrestlemania VII.
That kinda the WWF version of Ric vs Luger.
😄👍
Yeah… you’re not wrong about that one! Bret vs Bulldog SummerSlam ‘92 is in that category too.
Savage/Warrior at WMVIII and Hart/Bulldog at SS92 are the 1a and 1b of all time great carry jobs 😁
Yeah but warrior has already reached his peak before that match and luger was pretty much given the rest of his career by Flair
@@scottjones5897only according to Bret🙄
Benoit vs Bret Hart on Nitro in 99. The tribute match to Owen. Always my favourite. The two guys tore it down.
same. Shame a guy had to die in order for Russo to allow a proper wrestling match with no stupid run-ins to take place in WCW
@@pushon10I don’t think he was booking wcw than..
A lot of these match's have Big Van Vader in it . Just goes to show how great of a heel he was .
Same thing with Steamboat, he got a lot of spots in this list and for a very good reason.
He could sell
@@BrolyChanhe could sell!
Vader was a beast in WCW and Japan
Pure legend
Goldberg vs DDP at Havoc 98 deserves to make this list.
Agreed.
Just discovered this channel and I'm addicted. Love reliving the war
Welcome to the War
Damn sorry dude, I've rewatched it from beginning to end twice already....
This, and all things Cornette, are the best wrestling outlets on the entire platform. Also, Wrestlelamia is worth checking out. "Reliving the War" is something I and many look forward to each week.
You need to start Monday night wars from the beginning.
happened to all of us.. you wont ever leave again homie
Never gonna get used to seeing Rey without his mask
Yeah that was one of the worst things wcw ever did. Rey should never be without the mask. Especially knowing how much it means not only to him but lucha in general. Luckily wwe got it and brought him back with the mask.
Probably should it'll most likely come off after his retirement match is over against dominik
I get that the stakes are high when the mask I on the line but Juve and Rey should have never been unmasked.
LoL 🤣🤣🤣 I think he got a good face for television. His mask is awesome and iconic so it can be weird to see him wrestle without it, AT FIRST. Then the match starts and his incredible I'm ring ability and unique wrestling style is so captivating you realize that the mask/face is only one small element of why you/everyone Loves a Rey Mysterio Jr. Match!!!❤❤❤❤❤
Right?
that Diamond Cutter on Nash is poetry in motion 🤣
How on earth could Booker T vs Chris Benoit fail to make the list? I was really expecting at least one of their matches to be a top 10.
Good point those tv title matches were classic
Ricky Steamboat was outrageously good, he wrestled about twenty years ahead of his time.
Steamboat had it all.
The vader vs cactus Jack feud from ‘93 turned me into a Foley fan. Their matches were brutal.
Surprised DDP vs Goldberg wasn’t here. Incredible match from Halloween Havoc, probably Goldberg s best match.
Lance Storm also had incredible matches in WCWs last year.
Arguably the only good Goldberg match.
WCW seemed to have a lot of blowoff matches to good feuds without a title on the line. Steamboat vs Rude, Sting vs Cactus….hell, White Castle of Fear is “non sanctioned” too
Sting/Luger vs. The Steiners deserved to be on here.
Stuff like this is why this has become one of my favorite channels on CZcams. Solid work, and great job using something that's fan voted.
I remember my best friend asked why does ric get the respect he gets (just because he didn't much about the history of flair and when he did watch him it was evolution flair) and I showed him the I Quit match against Funk. His response... "I get it"
Idk I've read his book
Kidman always put on bangers.
Great list! Surprised by no Golberg DDP from Havoc 98, Jarrett v Benoit at Starrcade 99, Scott Steiner v Ray Traylor from Spring break 98, many of the Steiners tag matches and Stars n Stripes had some bangers too.
Great idea! Maybe you can do one for ECW some day!
I second this
Anything Tanaka v Awesome I'm here for
I'd be up for that. In my opinion ECW has an undeserved reputation for just being a bunch of hard-core nonsense. It did have a good bit of that, I'll admit. But, it doesn't get the respect it deserves for turning US wrestling on its ear in the mid 90s. RVD/Jerry Lynn, Guerrero/Malenko, Taz/Sabu, Awesome/Tanaka. All brilliant matches that weren't entirely based on hard-core spots.
Any RVD Jerry Lynn match
i third this
I love that moment of that Flair vs Funk match when they are trading chops and Flair rakes the eyes, but then Funk pokes both of Flair's eyes with his thumbs and Flair sells the only way he can
Flair vs Steamboat is an amazing series of matches. Brilliant!
Wrestle War 89 I'm particularl was a damn clinic.
Cant believe Sting vs Flair Great American Bash 1990 was not on the list
Same but there clash of champions match is still the better match of there many matches.
Easily have to pick Mysterio vs Guerrero as my favorite match. I love Flair vs Steamboat, but I just think Rey vs Eddie absolutely nailed it on another level.
If anyone was curious as to WCW's best rated matches from 2000 and 2001: the triple threat tag team ladder match at Starrcade 2000 (which is on the first WWE Ladder Match DVD), and the Cruiserweight Tag Team Championship tournament final from Greed in 2001. Both are hovering around a 7.8/10 on Cagematch
Been a pro wrestling fan since before the original wrestlemania. I still think 1989 was one of my favorite years in pro wrestling. In WWE it was all about the split of the Mega Powers. In WCW, i was captivated by my pick for the best trilogy ever with Flair vs Steamboat and how it seamlessly transitioned into Flair vs Funk and how they incorporated Sting vs Muta to eventually end the year setting up Sting vs Flair. It was simply brilliant!
Now we need Wrestling Bios top 30 wcw matches and why all 30 are Alex Wright matches
Steamboat was being advertised for WWF Survivor Series when he was Rhodes’s surprise partner
I still Don’t know how Pillman didn’t get paralyzed by Sid on the power bomb in War Games 91. Pillman is absolutely the star of that match, he starts the war games and really destroys a much bigger Windham and has the great chop for chop spot with Flair
RIP Bobby and Tracy
One match that I felt was missing on this was Steve Austin vs Ricky Steamboat for the US Title at the August 1994 Clash of the Champions. Just my opinion
2:33 I love Sid's reaction here, as if he's saying "hey, I just almost broke your neck. You're welcome".😆
What a lovely surprise as usual. Thanks my dude!
During lockdown i was finally able to watch late 80s early 90s wcw in depth and really great stuff love me some Vader v Sting and Cactus v Vader makes me wonder what would've happened if triple threats were a thing back then to see those three have at it. Also would've loved to have seen crow sting and Vader in about 99 if wcw could've got Vader
Man, how underrated was Dean Malenko...like seriously sad he didn't get a proper push in WWE.
Maybe because he was boring?
Is not underrated, pretty much every person that Knows Dean says that he is one of the best, I'm pretty sure he was respected by everyone when he was in WWE, but is just that WWE was never a brand about technical talent, you just need to be charismatic to get a push in WWE with exceptions like Chris Benoit or others.
Eric Bischoff is a HUUUGE fan of Dean's. Always giving him tonnes of credit on his 83 Weeks show. That's why Dean got a good run in WCW - Eric knew he had bucket loads of talent.
@@willshad If you think Melenko is boring, you're not a real wrestling fan.
Melenko needs to be in the Hall of Fame if he isn't already.
Would definitely have had Jarrett and Benoit ladder match on my list…Thankyou so much for this though, got some Vader and Sting matches to look forward to watching now ❤
The Bret Hart vs Chris Benoit - Owen Hart Tribute Match is still my personal Favourite WCW match ever today and is still on my all time list too
It'd be awesome to see this for WWF/E, ECW and TNA, too!
80s WCW Flair, passing the test of time with the 5 stars rating he deserves.
Haven't watched the whole video yet, but a few I would have at the top of my list:
Wrestlewar '89, Steamboat vs. Flair
GAB '90, Sting vs. Flair
Any Sting/Vader match from the early to mid 90s...
Sting vs. DDP 3/23/98
Flair vs. Windham, can't remember the exact date, but it's on the Ultimate Flair Collection....
Sting and DDP had amazing matches both times, '98 and '99 especially considering there was no real build up to each of them. I always wished they could have had a rivalry.
You’ve got the highest quality wrestling content out there. Always a joy to see a new video
Rey vs Eddie, Jericho vs Dean, and Rey vs Kidman made me a wrestling fan. Also, Raven!!!!
Steamboat vs. Stunning Steve Austin for the US title at Clash of the Champions '94 ('95?) is a must watch.
An underrated classic in my opinion was the match between Booker T vs Bret Hart on nitro after SuperBrawl 1999
Wrestling Bios is the only channel that i'm subscribed to that i have notifications on for. Absolutely love having a midweek video notification
Always a great night when Wrestling Bios uploads a new video. This guys work is always so entertaining to watch. It's for me thee best pro wrestling chanel on youtube.
A very fast-paced video but as always a solid one. You do great work.
Love love love this style of video and would love to see you cover all the promotions and maybe even worst matches
Can you do your top 10 favorite wrestlemania matches of all time??
No Sting+Luger vs Steiners?
Wrestling Bios appreciation comment 🎉
I didn't expect to see Hogan on here but his match with Vader at Superbrawl 95 was good enough to make top 20.
I don’t have a problem with Chi Town Rumble being number one. Two matches that are missing in my opinion are Goldberg vs DDP at Halloween Havoc 98 and Sting and Lex Luger vs the Steiner Brothers at SuperBrawl 91. Oh yeah and where the hell was The Steiner vs The Nasty Boys at Halloween Havoc 90? Great work Wrestling Bios I love your videos man. The content, the editing, the WORK ETHIC you put into these videos is insane Brutha! Plus you’ve been doing it consistently for a while now. You are appreciated - keep up the good work.
The US Championship match between Goldberg and Raven really turned Goldberg into a star.
@@budwyzer77 I agree. But if I remember it was a bunch of weapons and stuff? Big stop sign? Not a great match to me but it did put Goldberg on top. I think he won the U..S. belt.
One thing I love about your channel is you do wcw justice to just how good it was please more ecw videos though
This the 1st Wrestling Bios video I've watched in a while... A damn good one at that...
Great video as always! Would love to see a video top 5 wcw cruiser weight matches VS top 5 wwe ones?
More more more vids like this! This was great to watch! Loving the content as always
Thank you for the video sir. Normally don't pay attention to match ratings. But this video is excellent as it highlights some classics that I have forgotten about.
You should make like a top 10 WWF. Put a poll up or you pick your favorite!! I love these videos
Great Video tonight!! You Covered so much I may have to watch it again and I definitely have to go and watch the matches I haven’t seen 👍❤️👍
Don't u just love putting on CZcams and the first thing u see is a new wrestling bios video good times
This was awesome! I hope to see an ECW one like this down the line.
Love this channel and look forward to every upload. Thank you
You keep coming up with good ideas.. I'd like to see you rank 90's Royal Rumble matches
Absolutely love your WCW content.
Damn. My favorite didn’t make it.
DDP vs. Goldberg-Halloween Havoc 1998
Thank you for staying away from Meltzer.
And staying away from Conrad Thompson
I'd love to watch a reliving the war retrospective of 92 WCW ... 😅 MAYBE if you get some time in the future you can make this come true for me? lol looks like the best ETA of WCW imo
I'd like to see something on the Kip Frey reign. It was brief, had a few hiccups (like the talk show format for the Saturday Night show) but all in all was extremely well booked and wrestled. Bringing in Watts was ultimately a huge mistake.
Number 1: Alex Wright vs Terraryzing. Saved you some time.
Saturday Wright Fever was too much for Triple H. Alex Wright single-handedly stopped Triple H from having a reign of terror in WCW.
I realize that I watch your channel more than I watch live wrestling anymore and I've been a fan for 30 solid years
Sting vs cactus jack from beach blast 92 should be in here . Surprised there was no steiners matches too.
As a fan just now trying to get into the absolute perfect mix of mayhem and crowd reaction of this promotion, PLEASE do this with ECW!!! I will put money down for that!
Hit him up on Patreon!
Another awesome upload from the wrestling channel with the most jam on the planet!
I would love to see one of these for TNA, the triple threat match at UNBREAKABLE in 2005 between A.J Styles, Samoa Joe and Christopher Daniels is an all-time classic, and one of my personal favorite matches of all time.
If you haven't seen the Flair/Steamboat 89 Trilogy, you haven't earned your official Wrestling Fan Stripes yet. Incredible matches that will always stand the test of time. Rey, Eddie and Malenko were on a completely different level...
My Top 5 favourite WCW matches:
5) Booker T (c) v Lance Storm for the World Heavyweight Title (Thunder, 12th Nov 2000)
4) Raven v Chris Benoit (Souled Out 1998)
3) Eddie Guerrero (c) v Rey Mysterio for the Cruiserweight Title (Halloween Havoc 1997)
2) Sting (c) v Diamond Dallas Page for the World Heavyweight Title (Nitro, 23rd Mar 1998)
1) Bret Hart v Chris Benoit (Nitro 4th Oct 1999)
This is fantastic video! I missed WCW. Eddie vs Rey st Halloween Havoc 1997 will always be my all time favorite match in WCW
Kidman was entertaining af. Cruiserweight division was great for awhile.
The thumbnail - Sting dipping into Shawn's fanny pack!
Dope video 👊
Great list!
Hey you got mentioned on the K100 podcast! Disco is a fan.
Man ! I watched my VHS recording of New York Knockout with Flair vs Funk until it finally got ate by my VCR !!! I wore it out . Same as many wrestling tapes I had . The struggle was real back then lol !
Would totally love to see this video with other companies too
Great midcard and cruiserweight work
4:07 "there's quite a lot of submissions". When you avoid naming "chin locks"😂😂😂
I love Sting white boots lol
Sting vs Vader and Cactus Jack vs Vader were my favorites
The kidd-mysterio matches were always great
Somewhat surprised that Flair vs Windham wasn't listed. I don't remember watch match it was but I'm fairly sure One of those TV bouts got 5☆ from Dave so I would have thought fans would have rated it fairly high. I saw it when back in the day but haven't watched it on WWE Peacock.
Steamboat vs. Flair....wrestling that I NEVER got tired of watching. Pure dynamite!
Vader is one of my favorite big men of all time. Anytime a dude that big can do a moonsault its awesome 👌.
Cool great vid how bout one for WWF/WWE
So much love for Steamboat and Flair! At first I thought Malenko or Mysterio got the most, but was I wrong.
I think it’s be cool to see you go over the top matches rated on cagematch.
Great video been loving your videos especially reliving the war.
One thing is technically Ron Simmons wasn’t the first black world champion. Bearcat Wright won the WWA World Title in the 60’ s.
Can you do one for ECW in your next video?
Loved the Midnights vs the Southern Boys match.
Two matches that deserve more credit that made my list: From WCW Saturday Night 2/3 falls Barry Windham vs Stunning Steve for the TV Title and Bobby Eaton vs Ric Flair 2/3 falls match at Clash of the Champions.
Man I remember watching that DDP/Sting match with my buddy. We were huge Sting fans. Haha, we stopped watching after he won and didn't know he lost it an hour later until later that week!
That sting's squadron war games is my personal favorite. I would recommend that one or any of the early ones with the road warriors aside from the Tower of Doom thing they did. Much like a scaffolding mesh. They just couldn't move. Not the one with Russo and all that but very similar cage setup. Got to work the way the bottom. It's easy to see why they didn't repeat it for the longest time
