The Enzo is a great car for sure, but underneath it is not a Formula 1 car with road car panels.
In fact, the older F50 is more akin to an F1 car with an F1-derived engine and bolted to the tub as a structural member of the car.
I want the GT version of the F50 :D
What I came here to say
Technically speaking, underneath the panels the Enzo is a multiple championship winning GT1 Maserati :)
16:40 - The last recorded sale of a 250 GTO (to my knowledge) was around $70 million in 2018, and it is currently the second most expensive car ever sold (behind a 1-of-2 Mercedes-Benz "Uhlenhaut" coupe). I got lucky enough to see two of them in person at the Cavallino, absolutely gorgeous vehicles.
I want the GT version of the F50, how much is that :D
one sold in 2023 for $51.7 million with auction fees
@@gabrielbehailu4 That was a 330 GTO, not the same thing
Real price was $80 million, 70 million euros.
There're reports of 250 GTOs that sold privately after this $80 million one for more than $100 million.
4:50 the cars were originally black but a lot of scenes were filmed at night so the production team had them painted white to stand out.
22:15
The Ferrari in Bad Boys 2 was actually a 575.
A 550 was used for specific scenes, including the one shown here where Will shoots the villains.
Yep 👍
Didn't know thaf
@@pedrocampinopt You can recognize it by looking at the wheels for example.
Could watch this gentleman verbally breakdown on and off screen vintage vehicles all day long. The supporting visuals were excellent. Hats off!
wrong
Fyi, He was wrong about multiple facts on multiple models
I believe the Ferrari 308 GT4 was the first badged mid-engine V-8 the predecessor before the 308. At first, these were badged as Dino's but in 1976, they got a Ferrari Badge
The 308 GTB/GTS was released in ‘75, so I believe it did technically beat the GT4 to having the Prancing Horse, but I believe some GT4s were badged as Ferraris before then by some dealers.
@JWinHD the 308 GT4 was introduced in 1973
The service bulletin changing the badging on the 308GT4 is dated July, 1975.
@joelbelser5093 I'm aware, and honestly, that's just semantics. The 308 GT4 was Ferrari's first mid engined V8, which was the premise of Roger's first comment.
Cant wait for the new Ferrari movie. Hopefully they do the story and history justice.
Montezuma era??? WTF !!! Moctezuma ( not Montezuma )was an aztec emperor but you mean Luca Cordero di Montezemolo
I caught this too.
I’ve been a fan of the Mondial since the move ‘Weird Science!’. I liked the look of that four seater convertible. Though, I. Did prefer the Porsche 928. These days I own an ‘87 Carrera. I could never afford the cost, nor the maintenance prices. Thanks for the video.
(Ferrari prices, maintenance. & parts)
Given my druthers I’d have a 928 with a personalized plate that read WYATT, and that’s not even my name!
Love the mondial he's crazy.
"Are you looking at the rpm's?"
"No. I think I'm looking at about fifty tickets"
Tony Curtis driving a Dino in the ‘70s show “the Persuaders “!
But that was a Dino, like you say. Not a Ferrari.
The 355 was a GTS
The new Ferrari movie isn’t about the history of Ferrari really. It only covers the fairly tragic year of 1957 which is a rough one for Enzo.
Bro is a Collector car dealer and is calling the Testarossa engine a boxer 12. Anyways, guys, if you wanna learn more about the real Ferrari's history, don't watch any of this films, just read books (Enzo Ferrari wrote some).
Don’t forget how 250 GTOs were not really successful 😂
@@richardtodorov and the 355 was the second with the F1 gearbox (I've always known that it was the first road legal one)...
@@rogeeeferrari another ignant … how about using the internet to learn the difference
@@rogeeeferrari is inaccurate. That engine is a V12 with a flat angle. It works as a V engine and not as a boxer, just look at how the rods are mounted on the crank.
@@rogeeeferrari and what I just said? That engine works like every other V engine but with a flat angle. So it's NOT a boxer. The legend that BB stands for Berlinetta Boxer exists because the engineers who projected the 512 would dedicate that model to the beauty of Brigitte Bardot but they had to find a "fake name". In fact, by tradition, Berlinetta is the definition of a Ferrari with the front engine and the 512 was a mid engine. Next time study first.
If they ever discuss “pretentious goobs” in movies this guys getting the call
And then some for sure with his nose in the air!
He looks the part, sure. But, going off the way he talks about the first Ferrari in Ferris Bueller, he seems pretty alright. Doesn't seem too uptight about things.
"Montezuma Ferrari"? you meant Luca Di Motezemolo. Maybe
@@diabolusvincitstill very wrong i also thought it was jarring. its pronounced closer to “monetsemolo” not montezumola
Great video. But you missed “Gumball Rally”. Ferrari vs. Cobra.
You missed 1966 film Grand Prix. They were mock ups also, but very believable and central to the plot. Great video, Thanks!
The first time we see the Daytona, in the Miami Vice pilot, Don Johnson is sitting in a real one reading a newspaper. The car is onscreen for less than 20 seconds, never to be seen again.
Same here. Weird science 16 candles. I used to have a 87 944s and later a 88 911. All gone now 😥
Nice watch 👌🏽
What he really wants to show off is his fancy watch. It’s always clearly visible in the wide shots. Don’t let that sleeve cover up the Rollie!
You actually helped him, atfer reading your comment I am always looking at the watch, which i didn't even see before.
4:32 NOT A BOXER 12!
And that's just one example of various false information, he spread and don't get us started about mispronunciations of vatious names throughout the video. Respect for rocking the Stone Island jumper badgeless though.
@@infuelsion4597I think it’s pretty common for people to call it boxer because Ferrari called the 512 a boxer. Technically the testrossa has a 180 degree V12 not a flat 12!
@@MrIncognito-tm8he We agree, BUT it's still wrong.
@@MrIncognito-tm8heyes but he is an « expert » and no expert should be mistaking something like that
The supra is more valuable than the ferrari? Excellent vid! This has compelled me to read more about cars.
well the first Fast and Furious movies had a large impact on the car scene. Owning a Supra also became the dream for many kids then. Now the kids are all grown up and want their dream car. But everyone drove theirs and many modified theirs, so finding one in mint conditions with no modifications becomes a very sought after car.
New Leaf - 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 SN 09445 driven around the NYC area.
The 360 Spider featured in 2 Fast 2 Furious were just a proper impounded car. Shown for short screening period.
T punched the glass to get the package 😂
355 was the 1st gen of cars with F1
The 308 GT4 was the first mid-engined V8 Ferrari, not the 308 GTB.
EXACTLY!
The Dino 308 GT4 you mean? He says “the first Ferrari badged mid engine v8”… and if you want to get technical it would’ve been the 208 GT4
@@MrIncognito-tm8he he also said the 355 was the second F1 transmission car, he is a little inaccurate
@@jameswogan5820why was that wrong?
@@MrIncognito-tm8he it was the first.
Without a doubt, the most interesting thing I've viewed on YT in months. Nicely done GQ.
Enzo was such a big fan of Miami Vice he personally gave Don Johnson his own Tesstarossa
Hey, GQ!
If this hack is what you consider knowledgable, then
I am an astronaut flyer guy. I swear.
I will come in and
talk about how high up space is and how stars are made of hairspray and chalk.
You missed the opportunity to comment on a genuine 365GTS when you passed on _The_ _Gumball_ _Rally._ Sure, it was "B" movie, but that was A+ car.
I thought that was a Datsun z car also
Gone in 60 seconds is the best
And LeMans has just one long straight - Mulsanne
Weird Science? Mondial.
Did GQ ask Jake to remove his Stoney patch? 🤔😂
Resemblance: Louis Del Grande in Scanners and Seeing Things?
Super cool dude but one thing where he went wrong... Wagons are cool! 😅
For dads and soccer moms, sure...
@@staLkerhuask any petrol head that isn't a "bro" about wagons and everyone will say they are cool.
Dude, I think no one will convince me about that. Wagons are the ugliest things after SUVs. Their only quality is utility and comfort, which isn't equal with coolness. Big *ss ugly boats will NEVER be cool. Coolness is beauty, low weight, great handling and steering feel... @@ovisatma
Really enjoyable video. I could listen to Jake talk about cars all day!
I think by the time Enzo Ferrari put his beloved dead son's name on his first mid-endine road car, the Dino 246, he must have been okay with the concept.
Demi Moore was in that scene with the Enzo? Huh, didn't notice.
21:15 Yea, even with the gated shifter that clutch was toast after less than a year, and don't tell me I didn't know how to drive a stick I've had 911's since I got my license that clutch was just garbage! My stepdad got a Ferrari F355 Spider in like 96 I think, he traded it in when the clutch went out. He actually raced for Porsche in the 70's and 80's, which was the reason my first car was a 911. I was given his 1981 Porsche 911 Turbo when I got my license in 1987 she had like 600 original miles on her when he signed her over, I kept her as my daily driver until 1999 when she was stolen and totaled in a high speed chase with the police...
That said the Enzo @ 23:45 is one of the sexiest cars ever made in my opinion and dear Gods in Valhalla was that car a beast!!!
you forgot The long goodbye
I wish he reviewed "Gone in 60 seconds"
24:13 "Only 400 were made". *_Allegedly_* 😉
Bro missed the crash scene with the 355 in The Rock which I'm pretty sure was a replica. Plus In Bad Boys ll there were both a 550 and a 575 they kept switching back and forth between, look at the wheels.
I grew up wanting a Ferrari. When I became an adult, I bought a Porsche.

Testarossas have 380 bhp; a new Mustang has 460 and will smoke one like it was standing still. In handling as well.
How is the 328 "three times the car" as the Mondial 3.2? -- same drivetrain, Mondi has more headroom and arguably better handling. 328 is more beautiful, of course. But the Mondial is a Ferrari you can actually drive. And maintain yourself, without worrying about your "investment."

He breaks down Ferraris in movies? That's a very specific job. I had no idea someone was employed to do that in films. I would have guessed that an ordinary mechanic could do it but apparently not.

I like this video but boy did he get alot of stuff wrong... the 250 GTO wasnt successful in racing?? wtf??? is he insane?? and also he got Luca's name wrong... which may in itself not seem that bad but he was Enzos successor and had a HUGE part in making the brand what it is today
