I’m so glad that in these days of throw-away culture there are still people with the skills to repair and restore - and equally glad that there are people prepared to pay for such expert work. What a beautiful result!

Great job, I can see why you called it Desk-Zilla!. years ago I put an Elevator in a furniture factory and they set this gorgeous hutch next to the opening on the first floor. Oak and the grain was beautifull. I was up in the hoistway working and I heard this clanging noise??? so went down to investigate and two guys were standing front and back, beating on the Hutch with chains!. as hard as they could swing and hit it. When I asked why? I was told to creat worm holes and to distress it. I almost cried when I saw that. Pro-gress! ya gotta love it!. Oh I think they called it "Technique" ECF

Really enjoyable and informative. Love the sigh of resignation when having to use nails. Not seen veneering with hide glue done that way before. My first encounter with hide glue was in pearl form - smelt abominable. It was rapidly abandoned for a thermoplastic adhesive film to complete the projects.
The final toning of the fresh veneer was masterful as usual.
    Such skill and patience.
