We started stripping an antique library table only to find that it was not tiger oak but a faux finish. It is a big peirce and I always wondered how it was cheaper to do all that graining by hand instead of oak veneer. You have solved the mystery. It was printed on. Here I am, 4 days late to the party and I just finished watching your video.
They need to come up with some more superlatives I can use - this labor of love surpasses all the words - wonderful, fantastic, amazing, incomparable - there are! Your patience and the way you paint each stroke as if you're listening for the piece to whisper directly to your brush, guiding it in the way it should go, is an incredible sight to witness.
There was quite a lot to be repaired, too, but the repairs paled in comparison to the restoration of that gorgeous faux tiger finish. In the end, it was a beautifully restored, mirrored dresser any woman of its original time would be proud to place in her home. As would any woman of any time since, today included. I'm inordinately pleased that you were so intent on restoring it. It has such a lovely shape and a real presence that's unusual in a small dresser. Thank you for returning it to better than its original glory.
BTW, you seem so contented in this video. It's a joy to see and feel you so peaceful. 🌸🩷🌸
    Happy Leap Day!
