I've worked at Weta with Tissue, this comparison makes little sense, they're at most complimentary. But you can only bother with accurate muscle sim when the animation is "fixed" as in film and cutscenes, as opposed to blended dynamically as in games. Facial has always been a separate things either way. It is driven by mocap with blended sculpts, not muscle sims.
The comparison this guy is making makes no sense lol I wouldnt be surprised if this is part of that targeted campaign where they paid CZcamsrs to talk bad about Unity.
It's like you prerecorded this video before Ziva went extinct a month ago. I'm not sure why the video went live today, it's sort of irrelevant now.

Iclone is still better than Metahuman for now. Facial animation is so easy and realistic
Additionally more wrinkle details in cc is incredible. Also you can't add much details to left of the body in metahuman but in cc we can make body hairs, nails, more streamlined skin and dynamic hairs better than metahuman

It is to expensive. They dime a dollar you and so is not accessible to everyone. I ain’t got 3k to get it to do,what I need it to do. Everything is a plugin with them. And the characters still look gamey but the post apocalyptic dark ps2 gamey style.
If it's that easy, why do you think that most of the UE cinematics released are done with Metahumans and the MH animator? Easy answer: One interconnected ecosystem which gets updated on a regular base and is free to use. Also, as a DP, I'd argue, it always depends on HOW you tell your story, not about the tools you're using.

is at least on par with Blenders EEVEE and Dynamic hair that does not look terrible.
and character joint corrective shapes on par with Daz studio/Genesis.
question is can metahuman replace human character artist?
I think only for those moments where the actual actor is unable to shoot for the film Or video. Like if something happen with him/her face, or may he/she accidently die like Paul Walker, but replacing actual actor is kind of non sense.

This is so annoying. I want to do creature work and it look like ziva and maya would be a good fit. Now I have to use Houdini and vellum. It would make more sense if unity sold ziva to autodesk to bundle with maya rather then fire a portion of its dev team before some share holder report. They should probably do this with the other vfx tools they bought or sell to the foundry. I am sure they also would be interested.

If im to be honest. Meta Human still looks like a game. none of it looks truly real, oppose to Ziva which imo does look real, or at least a sizable margin beyond that of meta human.

An insider at epic games told me there was a targeted ad campaign where they paid CZcamsrs to make negative videos around unity and any software they acquired after the purchase of Ziva. Im not saying this video is proof but that this guy compared ziva dynamics to metahuman lmao and then said metahumans pose assets in unreal gave an edge over the simulated data ziva produces. Absolutely hilarious
