- When filing a spousal sponsorship, one of the mandatory and recommended requirements is to file chat records. However, its important to submit these in a proper format, respecting chronology, translation but also demonstrating the continuation of the relationship. In this case its the quality of the proof that is submitted that matters and not the quantity.

We are not specialized in UK Immigration but in Canada every message has to be translated either in English or French - in this case you would have to translate your urdu messages if you were to submit a spousal sponsorship in Canada

You don't need to print all but you should select excerpts to demonstrate the continuation of the relationship over time
Hi, I am looking to submit my whatsapp conversation with my wife. The export on whats app comes out as a .txt file. I cut and paste the important conversations to Word and printed the max 10 pages allowed in pdf format. My question is how do I proof this is the 'original' conversation on Whatsapp, will IRCC question the source file or the authenticity? Thanks in advance.

You can print the chat history from your whatsapp, either through screen shots on your phone or through whatsapp web.
While pasting the chat record in a Word document, is it okay to divide the page into 2 columns so that I'm using more white space on the page? And would the translator necessarily follow the same 2-column format?
Yes you can do that - the translator should be able to do that but I would first ask the translator what is easier more efficient.

Thank you for your question! In Canada, all documents must be translated either in English or French. It is also required to submit an affidavit from the person who completed the translation along with a certified photocopy of the original document(s).
Should we also need to send the proof of call history’s, I mean how often we talk to each other ?

I and my spouse mostly communicate via video calls can I submit photos of our call log and also pictures of our video calls as proof of communication ?

Hi Neha, typically, screenshots are alright as it would be very difficult to extract the entire chat history. However, we recommend including excerpts from different periods of your relationship to demonstrate the longevity of your relationship.
Thanks for this information it's helpful, have one more question to ask. I've print out the 10 pages of chat log but just noticed that the sponsors name was not save but the phone # is showing on the WhatsApp message will this be a problem?

All documentation submitted to IRCC must be certified translated to English or French. So if you are submitting text which is both in English and a non-official language, we might recommend translating the entire document, which will still show the English text. It's important to remember that anything that is not in English or French will not be considered with an application.

Not necessarily we usually put a couple of screen shots per page

You need to copy paste in a word document or there are specific software you can use to easily extract the data - an IT person would be able to help

I have been talking since 2019 with my husband.Can I add chats for example April 16 2019 then screenshots for October 20 2019 then chats of March 20,27,31 th 2020 ,then Dic ,25,31th 2020.Then February 14 th 2021 ,Nov 18 2021 until I fill 10 pages for example? He is visiting me November 19 2021.
