I can testify there is no break in required for this pistol. 150 rounds though mine and ZERO malfunctions. Great pistol!
My first 3 mags jammed. It was good to go after that though
@@idontcare-ct7jm I'm glad you got a good outcome...I wonder which is more typical--your experience or mine?
And i bet yours was a blem buy?@@idontcare-ct7jm
I have experience with all three. This is the order in which I like them.
1. PSA rock 5.7 - I would not hesitate to pay $575 for this handgun.
2. Ruger 57 - I consider the quality of this on par with a $400 handgun.
3. FN FiveseveN - There is no way this firearm should cost more than $750.
helpful insight! Thanks! 👍🏻
+1 Some youtube chanels said the same...
I got the 3 off them ,and I love PSA a lot , got it yesterday and I love it but Ruger is more sexy to my humble opinion
Paid 850 for mine brand new.
Wish the PSA came with a thumb safety....will be forced to buy the damned Ruger because like to carry with one chambered. You can always ignore a thumb safety if you choose, but when it's left out of the design your options are over. Dumb move imho. You just needlessly alienated an entire subset of users.
When you talk as you just did, it makes me want one. I thank you for the walk through on the tool and for showing some of the things about it. Take Care and Stay Safe.
Jay is the quintessential 57x28 expert. From gunsmithing to the most effective 57 ammo he’s the man. Years ago when the whole gun review community was sucking Rugers ass, recommending and raving about this sub par gun (except Military Arms Channel) Jay was doing a deep analytical dive on the Ruger 57 and exposed a number of flaws. I was inches away from getting one, thankfully I saw his review first. It’s been a while since I bought ammunition from him but because I bought about 300 rds I still have plenty because I only use it for hog hunting and in my FN for protection. I’ve chronographed it, shot it out of a PS90 at steel and killed several hogs with it. It’s the T6b rds and they are the real deal.
The T6B, folks think the B stands for black. Folks who really know what's up, know the B stands for Baconmaker
You hunt hogs with a 5.7? How big of a hog have you shot with one?
@@N0sf3r4tuR1s3n 150-175 lbs. used a t6b rd out of PS90. About 50 yd shot high neck. Ran about 20-30 yds
I REALLY like the way you did this video. I love that you’re straight forward, blunt, and mean what you say. You have definitely earned a new subscriber.
First time I have seen one of your videos. Very organized and informative. No extraneous BS. Great job of breaking down the differences between the guns. Just one thing that really wasn't a big deal. If you would set up a 2nd camera or find a different general location for the one that you use, we could better see some of the manipulations that were done off camera. For example, the breakdown of the Rock. Thanks for giving the kind of info that makes it easier to make an informed purchase.
Yeah that is on me, brand new system and I got the framing all frigging WRONG. Sorry about that. Also thank you, some folks hate the direct no BS and some love it. just how I am. You can take CAV DAT out of the tank but you can't take the Tanker out of him LOL
Personally, I think all this video does is tell it's viewers that it will all come down to personal taste.
But dare I say out of the 3, the Rock has a shortcoming which would be "barrel length"
Had the chance to fire several hundred rounds through a Rock on the range with a friend. The first thing that stood out was how smooooooth the slide was. Great feeling grip. Flat shooting, low recoil...loved firing it! IMHO, worth the price too! May have to get one for me!
I’m at 3000 rd on mine. Still runs like new. Maybe 6 jams that weren’t user error regarding reloading. The real issue is if you don’t reload 3k rounds is a fortune. I’d bet my life on it with a double stack full of hand loaded tridents.
I put a lot of work into my gen 3 Glock to make the trigger smooth. The rock can't get quite there, but it is pretty crisp once it's lubed and worked in. I've been really impressed, especially considering it's the cheapest 5.7.
By all objective measures (fantastically discussed herein) the PSA rock might be a better firearm than the FN. I own the FN 5.7 MKII and love it. This has a 23+1 capacity, metal mags, optic cutout, threaded barrel, more comfortable grip, nice stippling, lower bore axis, and Glock sights. I just purchased the PSA Rock with the optics cutout and threaded barrel. After watching this it is blatantly obvious that PSA used their collective mellons to make this pistol. I love the ballistics of the 5.7x28 round and I love Jay's review. Having Jay review it as well as he did should tell you a lot. This guy knows the FN 5.7. Most likely better than many FN armorers. I think I've found my EDC. Currently it is a Sphinx 9mm SDP compact and it looks like the king has been dethroned. Money is never an issue when it comes to EDC but PSA has just proven that you can get the best and not pay like your paying for the best. Unicorn.
Would you recommend the Rock for conceal and carry bro?
Hey man. First video I have watched of yours, wish more people were straightforward like you. Subscribed. Thank you, God bless you and your family, have a nice day.
Appreciate the review. This the comparison I was looking for. Huge fan of PSA
The more I shoot it the more I like it.
I'm sad to say, I got a lemon. The rock 57 I purchased form PSA wouldn't fire more than 3 rounds before jamming. Customer service, "we'll mail you a return label within 3 to 5 days.3 to 5 days, so they can't send the return label to you via email and you just print it out? its the "Dark Ages". I hoping for the best at this point.
Their CS is well, shit, for lack of a better term. Please email me and keep me up to speed as to your issue. Also the out come. What ammo where you using? If it was American Eagle that ammo is well for having issues. Ether way keep me in the loop please. Just like the Ruger57 and FsN I track issues and keep a file of them.
PSA literally took the fiveseven and said, "how can we make this a Glock?"
Pretty much and did a damn good job of it.
PSA does make great rack-grade AR's and in recent years has really come to make some fairly high quality AK's as well. JMAC customs did a burn down of an GF-5 earlier in the year and put over 4000 rounds including almost 2000 in full auto through one in a couple hours with no hiccups. As far as the Rock, picking up one right now with a Holosun 407k and a threaded barrel for $600+tax from PSA seems too crazy a deal to pass up for anyone on the fence about one. The equivalent from FN would easily be approaching $2000. Save the $1400 to buy the ammo. 😮💨
I picked one up also. Great deal
Holy crap 5000 rounds through the Ruger!!!! I didn't think with the high velocity that the barrels would last that long. Cool
I have a USG Five Seven with over 50k through the stock OEM FN barrel and NO issues other than replacing the recoil spring.
OH and my PSA Rock is closing in on 10k through it. I SO much prefer shooing the Rock over the R57.
Thanks for the review, I think I can safely add this to my acquisition list now.
That is a good price for the PSA. But people whining about the FN is based on price only………if you can’t shoot the FN and not whine about it then just hang up firearms all together. The FN couldn’t be any easier to shoot and shoots really flat and is super light weight. Or people could train more on the gun if they are crying about grips, barrel length, etc etc……it’s time to toughen up folks.
Man this dude is on point ! I’m sold .
Thanks for this review. I got a PSA rock 5.7 a couple of weeks ago and I agree with your review. I also have an FN FiveseveN. The only thing that I would change on the PSA is the barrel length but I’m waiting for the threaded barrel to hopefully add some length and prevent any drop in velocity and performance
I agree that’s a good idea but honestly that’s kinda what makes the psa cool to me. It being a little smaller makes it a more tolerable carry gun
I would love to see a compact 13 rds version.
what do you think of the PSA rock 5.7 trigger pull? Mine SUCKS....
It was heavy at first but after I broke it in it’s nowhere near as heavy. The take up is short, there’s no over travel, the reset is short, and the second shot wall is right there after the reset. It’s definitely a better trigger than my FN. In this video he demonstrates the trigger and you can see the short take up and travel. I think for the price it’s not bad at all. And after it’s broken in it’s a lot better. I’ve let a few of my friends shoot it and they were impressed enough to buy one.
@@destructionofgreed5703 hey man they PSA just announced they're coming out with a micro version. gonna be one of my favorite guns I imagine.
Don’t forget that the Ruger slide is only blued and will surface rust.
I carry the Ruger 57 and I constantly have to remove the rust in certain spots every other day or so. The extra mags can be even worse so I have been putting them inside disposable gloves and cover them in some oil. That helps a lot. But you probably get rust with any gun if you carry it everyday.
I have a dozen blued guns and none of them rust like the ruger.
@@zekewolf7442 Not if it has a quality bluing since bluing is actually a form of rust that protects the surface. I would suggest getting it cerakoted ASAP. Even better a Ti or Nickle of some form.

Great review from a very knowledgeable expert.
Great review!Just what I was looking for.
Thanks for a good & informative video👍
Appreciate hearing your opinion. Thanks Jay!
I hope Palmetto comes out with a matching carbine!
You got my sub, man - excellent video, keep it up!!
Interesting in depth review! Great job
Sitting hear watching this very informative video on the PSA 57 and noticed 2:44 in that there's XXX🌰🌰 flashing on his screen in the bottom right of this video. 🤣🤣🤣
Yeah brand new 4k system, I did not have a camera operator and had the angles all off. Fun fact, super hi res camera can pick up your Vintage pinup Bettie Page and Bonnie Logan screen saver running in the back round. LOL
So bottom line, the PSA Rock is a way better gun than the Ruger.
One is a dollar tree toy the other is a duty weapon.
As you probably will know at shot show they had a model with an RMR cut and threaded barrel on display. Knowing them it will come out with three different colors choices within a year or two. Using the dagger as an indicator.
Thank you for doing this review. I really appreciate your perspective and I don’t mind if you are over caffeinated.🤠
Thanks for this review. As of this post, I was able to order a Rock 5.7 w/3 mags, black slide and grey frame for $425 delivered from PSA!
Bought the ruger 5.7 when it first came out for 700$. Bought the rock for 500$. Love it. Sold the ruger and and getting a second rock...
I love the PSA AR15 and Rock package deals they run every so often.
Thanks Jay, much appreciation and respect!🔫🤠
So thankful I saw this video because I was seriously considering the Ruger but the PSA Rock looks to be soooo much better. The FN is too rich for my blood. I like Jay as he is a little hyper but obviously very bright and knowledgeable. His evaluations are beyond anything I have seen from anyone else. These videos are truly a service to the gun community. Thanks, Jay! Subscribed for sure. Now put that coffee down, buddy...
I can get a little over caffeinated at times.
Oh I've been waiting for this
Been trying to find a good review on this Rock 5.7 thank you ... considering the price point and your info sounds like a great buy
Most definitely reliable enough for me
Great review. Thank-you for going into these details! Would love to see some reliability testing with your ammo.
I already have over 500 rounds of S4 through it and soon a video will coming shooting it outdoors. It's just to damn hot tight now.
@@EliteAmmunition thanks for the info! I’ve been looking forward to this being released. I want the optics ready one with an extended barrel so I’ll keep waiting.
🤔 interesting thanks for the info ✌️ definitely keeping an eye on it 👍
I bought a blem Rock 5.7 for $600. Threaded barrel, optics ready, carry bag, and 10 mags. Great deal for a great gun. Can't even locate the blem.
I have four of their blem AR's and I have never been able to find the blem. I wonder if they sell them as blem as a back door onsale pricing.
@@EliteAmmunition yeah I've kind of wondered that myself. I also wonder what kind of relationship they have with FN because they use their barrels. Makes me wonder if FN gave them some incentive to help popularize 5.7? Not sure but I sure do love all my PSA firearms. I proudly support them.
I already own an FN. I have been considering the Ruger as a backup to the FN. Much of your review, opinions, and comments have really influenced my decision to the Rock 57. Thank you.
Since making this video I have about 2k in S4 thorugh the Rock and I am even more impressed by it. If cocked and locked is not your thing and a clean glock style 5.7 pistol the Rock is about as goo as it gets.
😂😂
I just got the psa rock waiting on delivery and thanks for the video sir much appreciated
Thanks for the Great review and comparison video! At the end of the video you mention that you have 6 of the PSA AR 15's all configured the same. Would you by chance be working on a future video showing those and how you have them setup? If so, please let me know as I would love to see it. Once again, thanks for the review and video comparison.
Maybe, I have my big S&W video I am working on, so an AR15 one would be fun.
Excellent review... You've compared things no other guys even addressed here in CZcams land. Thank you. (A top down 2nd camera would be a handy thing in your shop there when you do things on the bench, like disassembling the PSA pistol.
thank you and hence my comment in the title. brand new camera first time using it. If you watch newer vids I have fixed the issue.
In reference to the PSA vs the Ruger I don't think I've ever had someone say something that is 100% opposite of how I feel. I like the Ruger so much better, find the trigger to be great, love the edges etc. Find the Rock to just feel uncomfortable and odd feeling by comparison.
Is it easy to mill the PSA slide for a red dot? How low into the slide can you go?
They have a plate option version of the Rock already.
You did a great job at getting to the point. I am subscribing.
Also, I bought a PSA Rock 5.7
I love PSA. Go South Carolina!!!
Great review.
Stellar video!!!!
Love the PSA rock, just wish the trigger was a little lighter and it would be nearly perfect.
I shot one of these at the range last week. Great trigger on the Rock. PSA has them for $600 with a threaded barrel and a red dot thru 11/28.
Love my PSA rock, the trigger is the only thing keeping it from being perfect….well the cost of ammo too lol
It may not help be we sold T6B before COVID for what you are paying for SS197 right now. With the up coming election BS I don't think my supplies are going to get cheaper.
Also I am working on a trigger, 2 versions, 1 with blade and 1 without. They will by T6, true milspec hard anodizing, over travel screw, and possible pre travel.
just ordered the threaded barrel version, to go with my cmmg banshee sbr and also got 2 boxes of s4 to go with my t6b.
Thank you for the data. Did the Ruger 57 need any mods to use the PSA mags reliably? Thank you in advance.
PSA's page on their store for the mags has a blub near the bottom outlining exactly how their mags work and don't work with the Ruger, but long story short they just work exactly the way Jay said, out of the box
When I used ONE of magazines for the very first time EVER to use that mag that came with the Rock in the Ruger the fist round on the full mag feed wrong. I happened only one time and only the very first time the mag was sued. I account tor that as a NIB mag needing to be cycled . I used another broken in Rock mag in the Ruger and had NO issues but that mag had been used a few times already in the Rock.
Hey jay quick question, if I was looking to carry a Fn Five Seven would you still recommend the accurizing package or does that become a legal liability if I ever had to use it. Also what sights would you recommend for a carry gun night or fiber optic. Thanks
No legal issues whats so ever. That is an old internet myth. Of course I still recommend it. You get a 3.2 pound trigger, the whole gun tuned for reliability, Mag dis connect removed and we are still running the special where you safe 250 dollars and get our EA match trigger and HD recoil spring for free.
Jay Wolf Elite Ammunition solid thanks jay 👍🏽, i just picked one up should I break it in before the accurization or should I send it in before the break in.
@@crishtenleon9233 While is doesn't matter I would shoot it first for two reasons. 1) Try out your new boom stick always a good time 2) You will feel exactly what its like to shoot BEFORE I tune it. So shoot it so your before and after reactions are more epic.
@@EliteAmmunition commenting as I’m watching. Forgive me if you answer it in your video. Are you offering any packages for the psa? Trigger and etc?

any suggestions for a holster for the Rock and sight.

Thanks for this video. Best breakdown of the features that I've seen. Keep up the great work! Question... I went to your website and can't find where you sell your brass casings for 5.7. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Due to all the supply chain issues we have not been selling ANY supplies as every bit of what we have it being used for production.
@@EliteAmmunition ...Thanks for the feedback! I'll keep my eyes peeled.
I need to decide what to choose for my budget: one HK Mark 23 45 acp or three PSA 5.7x28 or two CZ Shadow 2 9mm for home defence purpose?! It is really difficult do decide. I incline to the two CZ Shdow 2 because of reliability and 9 mm wide spread ammo. But to the contrary some profesionals say that one shot with 45 acp and everything is done forever for anybody. I even thought about Mossberg shortgun 12 gauge Renegade but refused after long consideration I think it is for real butchers. And after your review of PSA Rock 5.7x28 I feel that three handguns is my choice with a lot of ammo and spare magazines. What is your opinion?
All valid concerns. I will try not to miss anything. 1) Modern 9mm JHP are on par with any 45acp. 2) CZ at one time I owned over 10 of them and still own 5 including a factory 75B cutaway. I like CZ's. Issue for me with it is the 9mm. NOT that can't perform as well as 45acp, that it DOES, and THAT is the issue. Modern windshield glass can stop 9mm and 45ACP HP. When I carry my custom Hi Power I carry a mix of ammo. XTP JHP staggered with 100gr FMJ iron core tungsten jacketed nickel plate bullets. Since I know the JHP can be stopped by many common barriers I throw the FMJ in there to kick open the door. 3) The Rock is a very affordable 5.7 and it's basically a glock. Neat clean no buttons or levers all over, no safety to learn to click off like the single action Five Seven is, and the sights are easily upgraded.
I own a FN57, Ruger 57 and I just purchased a PSA rock 5.7.... I have to say the FN is the best of the trio. the PSA rock 5.7 has the worst trigger pull out of not only the 57's but the worst of the many firearms I own. How PSA could sell a pistol with a 8lb+ trigger pull is beneath their quality standards. I have tried to sell it but everyone who has tried it hates the unbelievable hard trigger pull.
Something is not right, it should be around 6 and get better after a few hundred rounds. The Ruger has the worst trigger by far. Did you contact them? I plan on adding a PSA Rock tune package, I just haven't had the time.
Jay, I got my Rock 57 in a combo deal from PSA. AR15 plus the Rock 57 for $799. And it wasn't their bottom tier AR either.
To me it looks like PSA took the best of FN and the best of Glock and created this little masterpiece. I'm glad you dig it as much as I do!
Exactly my take. If you want cocked and locked you get the FsN, you want a Glock style unit you get the Rock.
@@EliteAmmunition the first time I saw the new FsN I thought it was a very expensive Hi-Point. For the price of the FsN I could get two Rocks and some ammo.
Great comparison. Ordered an optics ready thread barrel Rock today for $433.
Recently acquired a psa rock but haven’t had a chance to run it yet. BTW seriously that Ruger has 5k rounds through it? Isn’t that like $4k worth or 5.7 ammo?
YES, here is the thing. Every day is a new run of ammo. So every day from every press test loads are pulled from the initial start. Samples are fired by the persons running the machine, you roll them you smoke them. Then those fired brass samples and un-fired ammo sample are labeled and stored for ever. 4 machines and if ANYTHING changes, primer lot, powder lot, bullet lot, brass lot, rinse and repeat the ammo tests. Plus as part of my longterm testing of these guns I pop off a few mags a day at least. A couple of hundred rounds a day adds up fast. This is why I have over 50k through my USG, the first USG sold to a civilian when the pistol was released. Folks would cry if they watched just how much EA ammo is blasted into a shoot tube.
Sir, where can I get ss190 for my PSA ROCK 57?
The Ruger 57 is a minamalist PDW. I found myself adding things to it to make a perfect target pistol. I still wish I could get a binary trigger for it.
FN had over 10 years to drop the price on their 5.7, so if the Rock and Ruger's 5.7 out sell the FN, so be it. Now about the expensive ammo.
Think you sold me on this rock. I have no need for one but I think it’s a steal and with optic option it’s definitely worth it.
They just had a deal Rock and one of their base AR15's for 700 bucks. Hell of a deal.
If only ammo companies would start supporting the round more, too.
btw, do you have any potential update on ammo restock? After the Buffalo shooting, I'm starting to get way more interested in 5.7 rounds that can defeat Level IIIA body armor. I also saw a conversion option on your site, which I'm not sure how that works.
Soon

No that is my/EA's match grade trigger with over and pre travel adjustments. I am working on one for the PSA Rock right now.
I only have experience with the Rock but initially I had lots of failure to eject. Mine was a jamamatic with fn197 until I hit it with a little white lithium grease. I also keep a light coat of lube on the brass as well as inside the chamber and now it runs like a champ.
Individual miles may vary but mine definitely runs better wet.
Clean your chamber with carb clean. No gun solvents or degreasers will remove lacquer build up that happens over time from the cases. Sometimes the case coatings isn't cured well and the build up can happen fast. Different gun but this video here you need to watch

@@EliteAmmunition Thanks, that's good to know, but mine had failures to eject from round one, brand new, straight from PSA. That went away completely after I gave it a little lube.

We are trying to get T6B and S4 out. damn supplies and things don't look like they are getting any better.
@@EliteAmmunition does the T6B pre-order form work? I check the site nearly daily and always the same, "sold out"...I filled out the pre-order form a long time ago and nothing came of it. Any suggestions, or just keep checking? Otherwise I'll have to keep giving all of my money to Vanguard. haha. Oh, and will any of the _____TOR options be coming?
Good review, too. PSA Q&A site says optic cut is coming, but didn't see it said when. Then I'll be buying it, and you helped with that. So they should give you a kickback.
Now I see they do already have the optics-ready available. Sweet. There goes $569.99 that just happens to be the same amount of my state tax refund. Serendipity.
@@ShastaBean I made a video about ordering on our back up channel here rumble.com/vzoqjs-is-elite-ammunition-still-making-ammo.html
Thanks for the review Jay, great video. Now can we also get a review of your screen saver that's running on the monitor that's on lower right of this video? :)
I knew some one would notice and I should have known it would be you!!!!!! It's my collection of pics of my favorite Pin up model Bonnie Logan (Bonnie Bakken) Bettie Mae Page is my second. Kinda pissed right before all the fucking covid lock down bullshit she was going to be at the Deadman's carnival in WI. I really wanted to get her autograph but she passed away during all the lock down BS. I can make a video of it but pretty sure screw tube would freak. mounthorebmail.com/perspectives/her-name%C2%A0-lights
Knowing that you should pick up a Beretta APX it has if not a better trigger trigger is so good it's been out for a couple years and no one makes one for it because it's that good amazing ergonomics and feels like a very sturdy pistol
Great video articulated your points very well thank you
nice
Nice info! Liked & subscribed!
Ordered one yesterday with optic cut and threaded barrel as well as a mess of ammo.
You seem extremely well versed in the 5.7; is it easy to reload? That's a big issue for me (though it didn't slow me down buying one).
With your video: not sure if it's my device or something else, but I couldn't adjust the video to see anything below your handsome head. Could plainly see things on the ceiling. Too much caffeine inducing lack of attention to camera work? Not a knock, but I'd be far more interested in seeing your manipulations, etc, which were happening below my view than the electrical wiring and rifle hanging from the rafters.
Hence my comment in the title. brand new camera. Screwtube has hit me with a second strike in a week. So check out this video I made awhile ago concerning re loading the 5.7. It can be done, it's not hard, you just have to take into account some details. the video is here on my channel so far, they have been deleting them so fast I don't know what is still up. title is, "5.7x28mm Can't Be Reloaded, BULLSH_T Yes It Can!" link to EA's Rumble video rumble.com/v1kpc0h-5.7x28mm-cant-be-reloaded-bullsh-t-yes-it-can.html
It really sounds like PSA took a gen 3 Glock and converted it to 5.7. That is not a bad thing, I do really wish that they made a removable FCG as the serialized part. There is so much potential with that concept.
Would you be interested in a PSA “Rock” in 4.7?
Well PSa never asked me. BUT here is the thing. the HK 4.6mm case itself is the same size as the 5.7 case and feed just fine from the magazine. I know I have lots of 4.6 and have messed around with EA T6B loading in it. The case head is virtually the same so the breach face is the same so it would work with the FsN. The pressure curve and recoil impulse is the SAME for the two rounds. All it takes to shoot 4.6 in a 5.7 gun is just a barrel swap. Even the recoil spring stay the same. The only reason I have not made an EA 4.6mm ammo is there aren't any guns other than the HK burg gun chambered in it. Again I have done ALL the engineering already.
@@EliteAmmunition it sounds like all it would take is a barrel swap and you could have a companion gun for the banshee in 4.6. PSA is probably looking at it now
Thanks for the reply.
@@zedhiro6131 If they are being smart about it they would.
I would buy this if its offered. With CMMG introducing the four-six I really hope there are more options.
@@youtubewatcher4792 I have had 4.6 on the shelf for a wile now. Working on T6B version.
Thanks for the vid but I'll keep my Ruger.
Nothing I see here would make me want to trade for the other.
But if I want another 5.7, I would go for the PSA if that says much
Hey jay are there any store in Illinois that sell EA ammo?
In the past yes, but with all the supply china BS the last few years we had to drop our dealer program since we don't have enough ammunition to support it anymore. Build back better FJB
Great video Jay! Is there any reason why no one wants to make a compact or sub compact 5.7? Even a glock 19 in size would be nice, the fn is a beefy boy.
The round just would not work in it. The velocity drop off would be extreme
We are losing 20-60fps from the Rock to the factory FSN barrel. Barrel is needed for velocity.
@@BuffRANGE I’m waiting for the threaded barrel to add some length. Hopefully it will add at least a quarter inch.
It adds a full half inch and the rifling goes all the way to the end.
@@youtubewatcher4792 it’s 1/2”. 4.7 to 5.2”
Oh God ... Another pistol on the list!
Great video, do you or anyone else know where I could find a IWB holster for this? Thanks 😊
Not yet, As of yet my supplier has stated they have no plans to manufacture. That said the more Rocks that sell the better the odds they will make them. Also the new FsN MK3 MRD does not even come close to fitting pre existing holsters.
@@EliteAmmunition Vedder holsters makes one for the Ruger 57, so I'm going to order one of those since they are similar, I might have to modify it a little but I hope not.
I have been carrying my PSA Rock in a crossbreed IWB holster made for the ruger 57. Fits decently and does not interfere with the holosun 507k.
@@youtubewatcher4792 PSA had a clearance sale on the Holosun 407co so that's what I got for my Rock. I've never used a red dot before so I hope that this one will work out on it.
The only issue I ran into on the install was the screws that came with the holosun were too long. Nothing time and a file could not fix, but Its worth mentioning. If you have to adjust the mounting screws use a little blue loctite on the screws to keep them from walking out once you are done. I do not know your experience with 5.7, but the round you plan on using is the round you want to zero your sights/optic. The weight and velocity of different rounds will give you a noticeably different point of impact down range. Good news is I have ran into no reliability issues at the range with the limited number of rounds (120) sent down range with this setup. This is also my first pistol mounted red dot. If you’re not familiar with his videos, SageDynamics has some good videos on using pistol red dots.
I would love to own a PSA 5.7. Unfortunately, in the state that I live in I can never get the gun because of the magazine/ammo law and most stores would either overcharge the price or not carry it at all. I got the Ruger57 at a steal during the pandemic and its a good gun for the price it offers but to keep it real I would trade it for a PSA
CA or not so merry Maryland ??????
I live in CO where I’m only allowed 15rounds handgun or rifle. Right now there’s a lawsuit on the magazine ban and I’m pretty sure it’ll win post bruen
@@michaelmack7710 A hell of a nice state ruined by all the carpet bag liberals from CA.
