So awesome to hear my name coming out of the legendary Don Shipley's mouth! So flattered that you like my channel, and can't tell you how much it means to hear you say that I'm doing right by the community. I've definitely made a lot of mistakes along the way, but I do feel like I've finally found my calling post military. Thank you very much Don!

I can’t help thinking of what I’ve heard from my friend about her granny getting dolled up in Manchester to go and dance with the yanks. If it wasn’t for your country I might not be here. From what I’ve heard you where a sight to be seen. The impoverished Lancashire mill workers had never seen men so healthy and well fed.

I'm former USAF and did my tech school at NSHS at Balboa Hospital in San Diego back in 95 as a joint training unit so I got to learn everything about the Navy and met some cool dudes who were Corpsman. In case you didn't know, Mr. Shipley not only was a Navy Seal but also a Senior Chief. Senior Chief's alone deserve the utmost respect. Combine that with being a SEAL, basically means you basically shut up and listen. I know every branch has their rivalries, however, as an A1C in the USAF at a Naval C School seeing Marines and Seaman and some Soldiers come through the medical unit at 18 years old and also hearing the stories of the guys that have seen and have gone through what they have, you respect everyone that wears the uniform.

The plethora of refrigerated water fountains at a any military dump site in the late 80s - early 90s was because one model of ‘s line had lead components. I had the dubious task of determining if our BNs water fountains were gtg, which actually took a whole day because how often do you think about water fountains? They’re not an accountable item. Barracks? Check. Orderly rooms? Check. Motor pool? Wow, there’s three. How about the Commo office in that remote building? There’s one in the basement of this storage room? Oh, it used to be an office. Most of ours were made by , but none of ours were that model. I did see pallets of water fountains at one of the yards of nonsense the Army doesn’t scrap for some reason, including a whole fleet of Gama Goats, just in case we changed our mind about them

I love this! I also wonder if you’re shouting out Mr. “Ballen” because of range stories? He had a pretty rough experience on the range at 3rd phase (or whatever part the island is) that pretty negatively colored his time there. No one wants any extra attention and he and some others got it, by accident of course and debatably the fault of the trainees.
Glad he pushed through and I find him to be a real credit to your fraternity. He has an amazing channel that isn’t just rehashed war-stories or talking about how drunk everyone got: his view is on his future, not just his past, and speaks to the truth that being in the teams isn’t the only part of a well-lived life.
Salute to you sir and thanks for these great stories!

I had a similar incident some years ago. Copy machine is acting up at the airport. Open up the guts and there's toner everywhere in there. I say, well that doesn't look right, so I take it out into the hangar and blow compressed air inside it.
Holy shit, boys. That hangar was so full of toner floating around it looked like smoke from a fire. Of course there's tools, shelves, equipment, airplanes....it coated every single fucking thing in that hangar in a film of toner. Surprisingly I didn't get in too much shit over it, but I was washing corporate jets for a while.

I could never actually be a seal because I am a Canadian for one but my lack of education and bad attitude wouldn't have helped either. Group of about 30 of us sat round a fetid pool of water with a long dead sheep floating in it . So the instructor decides to show us what a small charge would do to it , well it blew it up into the air , fragmented it apart , and everyone present had pond water spray , mixed with sheep corpse rain all over them . The smell was so bad half the blokes were gagging and some even vomited and everybody's fatigues were stinking of putrefaction . Oh ! Happy memories .

Don, as one of only 3 Military men in any branch of the US Armed Forces recognized as a Quad Body (training with Marine Recon, UDT, Army Airborne, and living & training in England as a British Royal Marine) most of his appreciation was always to the Corps with a close second to he UDT training!
