I AGREE with you 1,000% because this was when television & music were television & music. Today's TV Shows & Music are GARBAGE & they're not worth a DIME LOVE YOUR COMMENT.
When I was 11 years old living in Iowa, my parents took me to see Thom Bresh around 1986 at a high school gym that had a stage. I wanted to get a drink at the drinking fountain in the corner of the gym, and to be polite I waited until in between songs. Big mistake. I unwittingly became a part of the show.
I don't know how I missed this video until today! I thought I had seen all of Tom's gifted talents before. Clearly his keen ear for music crosses over into the vocal spectrum as well
I remember seeing this bit when it aired in 1981. It was my introduction to Thom Bresh. I didn't learn that he was Merle Travis' son until a bit later.
Hi Thom sorry to ask . But why do you not use your Dads surname Travis ??? Is Bresh your stage name ? Again sorry to ask Thom . Keep safe my friend Wayne
Merle Travis was my father. But the man who raised me was Bud Bresh. So, Travis was my father but Bud Bresh was dad. So I have always used my dad's name. That is how simple it is.
This is what is missing from TV today.
REAL TALENT!!!
Wonderful clip of two great artists.
Great stuff! RIP Thom, RIP
Here it is the end of 2022 and I am seeing this for the first time. Bresh had more talent than any 10 current country music "stars" performing today.
Just Awesome!!! I wish we still had shows like this!!!
