Poor yao :( falls are keeping her away from being a champion... in 2011 she would have been AA champion with a nice advantage from jordyn and victoria if she didnt fall off bb... here in the AA again, not gold but she would have been 2nd atleast with a good bb routine, and here she would have been champion without the fall
she has good execution and decent difficulty (on bb and ub atleast) but she is a bit inconsistent, makes me really sad seeing her cry :(((((

WHAT ARE YOU BLIND? ross hit all her handstands. mustafina had missed handstand, leg separation, arched back, bend knees before the dismount, deep squat on the landing, and two steps on her dismount. her routine is far from being good enough to be #1 or #2

It's such a shame about Downie and Jinnan. I think the Mo is totally worth doing, it's daring like that that pushes gymnastics forward and Yao is capable of hitting it. Downie had such a great routine until that freak mistake.
Ross totally deserved her medal, people need to stop whining about it.

She broke the connection from low bar back up to high bar. I never understood either until I saw her AA routine and realized the difference. That lowered her SV just enough.

Good guess... but they are not related. Huidan is from Guangxi Province, but she represents Zhejiang. Mandan is from Guangdong and was competing for Guangdong

Could someone point me out the deductions on Mustafina? (appart from steps on landing) why her DF was higher on AA?
Scheder? (looked perfect, but one of the lower Execution scores)

there is no way Mustafina deserved only the bronze, she wpuld have easily won silver ( and maybe gold if not for her dismount wlanding), Ross had boring routine and never had the handstands verticals... scheler was robbed of the bronze medal

Mustafina missed a connection (high-low-back to high) and that altered her SV. She also did have some areas of form break and errors on handstand. Very unusual but she was also working on creating a new routine. Same with Sophie plus her execution was not very good.
Kyla hit ALL of her handstands and had beautiful execution throughout. You are just full of sour grapes.

I think that Huang Huidan is related to Huang Mandan who was a Chinese team member at the 2000 olympics as they look so similar but I'm not 100%. Anyone confirm/correct me?

And how did Simone beat Mustafina in execution? I know she took those steps on her landing but she had all those form breaks. Something just isn't right here...

Mustafina was a trier on bars as these Worlds. I think she and her coaches were still dealing with the new code which meant her old routine wasn't worth as much, so she was trying new things, which were less clean. Mustafina's bars were the least clean at this competition than any other she ever attended(I mean a major comp as a senior).

Of course after this Worlds, she didn't try for any superior difficulty again until Rio. It seem like her individual drive may have slumped after 2013, and we're all glad she got it back for Rio at least. Even if she couldn't do her best work on floor.
