Technically, in Destiny’s original story, Io was originally gonna be a Mars location. Hence the name, “The Lost Oasis”, like the Crossroads in D1 crucible. So you’re not wrong.
Also, I think Asher was originally going to be Osiris.
Take D1 Osiris’ voice (Shrine of Oryx mission) and put it on Asher, it fits.
I mean he wasn't 100% wrong, io was supposed to be a mars map expansion

I was always disappointed that we never learned more about the immense fossils found in the caves and caverns under Io.
Tbh I’m a little saddened to see IO go, having that said gaining old Russia and Europa is beyond exciting.. what’s next? Dreadnaught? Vault of glass?? I’m SUPER excited for the future of D2 and more importantly in depth looks at the lore through the conduit that is Byf... the lore god. Thanks again for pristine content

Several other commentaries have mentioned Moon Lore. One of my personal favorites is the little known tale of Wei Ning. I would love to hear you talk about her and see her highlighted if even as part of a larger story as her weapon, The Fighting Lion, is my favorite and has been a mainstay for me since I started the game.
I like how you can still see remnants of the warmind bunker from the earlier season along with the towers

Your wording here makes me wonder if Taking was originally a Vex ability. Crota did wind up accidentally make them next door neighbors. Maybe the real story wasn’t Oryx speaking with the Deep and taking the Taking power at all- but rather it was “negotiating” with the Vex. What if that’s why Crota glowed that weird blue green color? Perhaps that’s what Bungie originally wanted the Taken to look like.

Kind of sad you didn't talk about the very real phenomena called magnetic flux tubes, because when I first heard asher sputter that line I thought it was just senseless technobabble, but no, it's actually a real thing, and Io shares some quite violent and interesting ones with Jupiter.

On this moon... An easter egg heralded the arrival of the pyramids during the red war via investigating objects.
We also recieved our thorn and rose quest. Calling our guardians to be a bearer of the darkness.

2021: Asher Mir is sending us a message (yet indecipherable) through the "Friendly Harpy".
He is warning us that Savathun has taken his experiment to create "artificial light" and adapted it to create Hive Guardians.

I believe that the lore is from the perspective of the ahamkara's skull above shaxx as it mentions its net creaking

You know how we saw our own death in the Sun Dial? But we come back from death..... What if we create our own throne world by using the darkness to escape death? The mind bender and Queen Mara have shown us that anyone who uses the sword logic can create a throne world

Personal preference, if the footage is going to be captured in non 16:9 it would be much nicer if the actual video could be rendered as such.
Otherwise those with non standard screen ratios end up with double black bars or cutting off video (if we zoom in)

Well that goes for most planets, uninhabitable hellscapes for the most part. That's the entire point of Traveler terraforming them.
Io was the one world in destiny I was sad to see go. Ands it’s even more ironic cause I’m a warlock main
Byf guardians are chosen for redemption by the ghosts. Example that guy that killed kade-6. Our characters were corrupted by darkness before we got rezed

I just had a thought the other day; Does anyone know if Byf has done a video on whether or not Calus has swallowed a worm larva? As I understand it, to feed the worm you need to cause destruction. A lot of the hive worked on a tithe system that worked its way to (eventually) Oryx. Now, here comes Calus, sending us out into the world to cause destruction, and when you get the boon from his bounties, if you highlight the square when you go to give it to his Visage, it says verbatim, "tithe of opulence." I mean, supposedly he encountered the darkness, right? Is it such a huge leep to think he spoke with it as we have? It would also lend some validity to there being an acendant realm aboard the leviathan.
Did I miss anything? Are there other aspects I'm not aware of? Please tell me I'm not the only one that has thought of this.

We'll definitely get the dreadnaught back. However, i doubt we 'll get an expansion of it. We'll most likely get the raid and related quests.

Question: Isn't there a Taken Hydra is the dynasty quest? Has one ever appeard in other quests? I don't think i've seen one else where.
Not sure if it counts but I've seen them in the contact event as mini bosses, they didn't have normal weapons and used that screaming ball attack that taken captains use

It's so fun to explore seeing all the caves, outcroppings, scannables even the breathtaking sight of jupiter and it's beauty in the sky then you see Europa also :)
