Also Byf I think you forgot to mention, if I recall, we are not sent by the Vanguard, since they want nothing to do with provoking Calus into a full on war. Aunor is the one who comes to us and basically hires us to go meddle with the Leviathan and sabotage it....

@@thrilla72 I think you're on the right track. Our part in the narrative and lore has always been singular despite the fact that the whole playerbase represents all guardian players playing in the wild and such.
Considering this, the lore implies calus deals and trades now with many guardians and so lore-wise, the 1st team to kill him in Leviathan doesnt have to be the same 1st team to beat eater of worlds, and it probably wouldn't be, lorewise, because of this.
As far as the raids go as an activity, our role as our singular character would only play so far as to learn into the lore on the leviathans armors and the chronicon lore.
I hope we get a few old story arc conclusions this season

Argos had one of the coolest boss designs so far. I loved the scorpion aesthetic. It's a shame it wasn't a bigger plot point in the game, but oh well. Hopefully, we get to see even cooler bosses in the future.

Ah. Eater. What a raid. So incredibly short, but still so much fun. Prestige was fun too. Did this about 100+ times, with all sorts of weapons.
Easily my favorite moment is thundercrashing over Argos during the initial boss reveal scene. 😂
Man I did love this raid. Nice quick raid to do with people. Hope it comes back but it seems people didn’t wanna play it so. Lol

I know it’s an unpopular opinion, but I love this raid, it looks so cool, and it has a really chill vibe to it. And it’s a great raid for beginners, it’s the one I play when I introduce my friends to destiny

It is way too short, and ridiculously easy if you got even just 3 people who know what to do, but the cranium mechanics really are fun, imo. I've always loved the aesthetics, too. Say what you will about the levi raids, but visually they were over the top and really matched the lore around calus.
Never got a chance to complete this raid, but I have an appreciation for this interesting lore.

@@S3Cs4uN8 There's a decent amount of people doing eater and spire right now to get the triumph for the moments of triumph seal. So if you don't have a clan, look on LFG occasionally.
@@brainwash480 I've already done all the Moments of Triumph stuff, and just raid a fair bit in general, but yeah I always recommend folks to go lurk in the LFG Discords sherpa channel, met a lot of great folks there.
I completed all raids in Destiny 1 and Destiny 2 yet one question I always had was what the heck is the lore behind these raids but I'm glad Byf is here to drop some knowledge for us and watching his videos allows me to understand more about not just the raids but also more of the lore on destiny as a whole

Well, he potentially could, but we don't know how the pyramids might react, considering that as far as we've seen, calus doesn't have paracausal abilities, so they may just shrug him off like they did with Rasputin and Asher.
Suggesting the pyramids yeeted Rasputin after he tried to decimate a single one if the Leviathan even gets close to the pyramids I’m sure it will just crumple up the leviathan or send it crashing into whatever planet it was on
Calus went to the edge of the universe and saw the darkness, there is a reason to as why he is leaving, pretty sure he would know if the leviathan could do it.
I kid you not I couldn’t understand any guide video for this raid but watching this gameplay just helped me complete EOW.

Finished the prestige version a while ago after wiping so many times due to stupid modifiers but once we got it done, the satisfaction felt so good.

Thank you Byf, for being so dedicated to making Destiny Lore and History so accessible. I used to get so frustrated having to run through the grimoire cards in D1 and the random lore on some items/achievements/ect in D2, trying to make a coherent story of it. I look forward to these videos because I learn something new about the game I love every ep. Great job!

Just finished spire of stars for the first time two days ago and I can’t wait for the spire lore video
This was my favorite raid by sheer scale and environment. Diving deep into the ship, through the big sections and seeing the room where you fight Argos in, I always looked in awe.

EOW raid lore was kinda boring, wouldve been more interesting if story was about Nessus Vex invading the Leviathan instead of them just being a tummy ache.

@T. O. huh, interesting. But my problem was that the DLC was about Mercury, Osiris and the Vex so I was expecting the boss to be Panoptes in some VOG on acid, but no, it was some tummy Hydra😤. If EOW was its own DLC then I wouldn’t have been so disappointed with the lore.

It is honestly incredible a gigantic fish can house an entire living ecosystem. Take into account its not just cabal, but Vex, Hive, perhaps even fallen. All that on a floating FISH

Jury's still out on whether or not that's how it works with the rewrites of the lore. VoG's return may expand on Kabr's fate and thus give us answers. Not to mention the Vex's relationship to the Exos.

what has stopped us from making a vex cranium gun? i mean like a trace rifle, that shoots arc/solar/void rays from a vex cranium, maybe when our light goes away in lightfall (only speculation) we have to put together homemade guns, an exotic. but it would have to me more intense then the red war. just my thoughts
There is a ornament for Prometheus lens that replaces the crystal for a vex eye.

I never could do these raids - I simply don't have enough friends to coordinate well enough with. But the views and scenery is just wonderful. I mean, fragments of a planet and floating around the gluttonous interior of a worldship? WOW. Is there a good place to watch a run of raids (perhaps uncommentated) that really showcase some of this awesome scenery?
Plus, as an aspiring art student, getting some material/inspiration to try drawing scenery like this would be marvelous...

If you have anti barrier rounds equipped, you can shoot through his sheild and damage him
So to sum the Leviathan up....
Leviathan: Proving ourselves to Calus on his massive ship
Eater of Worlds: going into the mouth of the Leviathan and destroying a massive clog (lol)
Spire of Stars: head to the Leviathans bridge to take out some uninvited guests- and their ships
Crown of Sorrow: travel to a section of the Leviathan thats crawling with Hive and kill Calus's failed experiment (making one of his loyalist dawn a Hive crown in an attempt to control the Hive)
Sorry if thats not entirely true, I haven't done Crown of Sorrow so I'm not fully aware of what happened in that raid. But for all the players that haven't done these other three yet then let this help you understand a little bit better. Its sad that I have to watch these videos on the lore because when the raid is happening and Calus is spittin lore bombs at us- my damn fire team sounds like an animal circus and I can never hear shit haha.
What happened in CoS is that Calus decided to fuck around with the possibility of controlling the hive using one of his lab grown bather (from leviathan bathhouse encounter) named Gahlran but it was a trap laid by Savathun which took over the section of the ship the raid took place in.
