    I wonder if Monk could have imagined when he wrote this in 1944, how important this composition would become. Every time Marsalis plays this, he does it differently, and every time it's freeking amazing.

    Dude, whoa. Marsalis is sick. Wish he could swing more often like this instead of the archaic classical jazz stuff.

      True, but sometimes I find he's coasting through, playing the same lines thru the same changes. Especially in his Live at Lincoln Center performances. He's got a lot of critisim from the more avant garde jazz community, but honestly he's done more for the preservation of jazz than anybody else, and for that, all of us jazz musicians are grateful.

      Agreed. This is great and really fun to listen to. However I saw Wynton once and he didn't play anything as exciting as this.

    Wyntonイヤラシイ機敏な吹き方するなぁ、、今みたいに大きく吹くようになったのって加齢のせいもあるけどMonetteのMPと楽器に感化されたせいだろうな
