personally I love your voice as it is very soothing
Agreed
Yeah. I watch one of her videos every night. not only do I enjoy watching her amazing painting, her voice puts me to sleep.
The best part of your videos is the fact that you hold the figure by hand and do a great job keeping in frame as much as possible. Watching you paint these makes me want to paint and play Warhammer 40K.
I am 49 and have been a warhammer fan of Books and Games for years. I wanted to buy some pre-painted models just to have on my desk. They were too expensive, so I decided to buy a starter space marine set and I am now hooked. Thanks to your wonderful, well explained instructional videos and I learned many good techniques. I am with you why do Haters or anyone even dislike, just click somewhere else and move on. Thanks again for posting so many great Vids. Bob in Denver, Co.
That's sad if people are hitting the dislike button without actually watching the video. I honestly find the work inspiring and its good to see the techniques in action to help improve my painting.
7 dislikes, 7 people who are jealous of your painting; don't take the dislikes to heart, you are doing a spectacular job, and I, like many others, appreciate what you are doing!
About those that disliked your video....its not that they dont like its that they dont like themselves. That being said your videos are an absolute pleasure and i thank you for sharing your talent with us.
Dear alexandra, I have no idea why would anyone disliked yr video, u have shown valuable amount of skills that I greatly compliment! Bravo!
I would not worry about that very small percentage, Girlpainting has a strong following and provides so much for our hobby we love!
Ignore the haters, you do a fine job of helping the new comers to the hobby get their minis painted to a nice level for gaming. Nothing worse then seeing throngs of unpainted or half painted minis on the tabletop.
I love your painting tutorials! Every time I watch one, I want to paint whatever I saw in your videos. Keep up the good work!
Everytime I watch one of your videos, I think "I can do that, and that fast too!" When it takes me nearly an hour just to basecoat a model that small....great video GP
There are people that just troll youtube and do that crap. I wouldn't sweat it, the internet is a place of anonymity. People do and say what they want with no fear of repercussion. I love logging in to my account to see a new how to paint or informational video uploaded. Keep up the good work!
some people just like to dislike things also to be trolls. has nothing to do with you. your painting technique is wonderful. I got into warhammer 20 yrs ago, after first seeing your tutorials on painting orks it was like being a kid again. thank you so much for posting these vids. it's brought some joy back to my life. sorry to get so deep. just thought you should know. and thank you for all the info!
Man, this brings back memories, gonna miss you Alexandria!!!!!
Very nice video and very nice figure!I do Iron Warriors and I will take some of the advices in the video so I improve my painting skills!thanks you so much!
Alexandra, thank you very much. I really like your videos.
I always enjoy watching your videos, you are so much more energetic and entertaining than most of the other painters on youtube. keep on posting and ignore the morons because the internet is full of Em.
u r amazing... really love ur works... i am looking forward for Iron Warrior Squad for the first time!!!
i really love your chaos tutorials! thanks ^^
there just jealous of your awesome painting skills Alex
I've wanted to do iron warriors for so long and this video was perfect for me
Love it. Thanks so much! The hazard strips were driving me nuts on my IW. Thanks a lot!
Well this is yet another one of your videos that is getting a big thumbs up from me. Great stuff, thank you.
Alexandra,
I don't have the time to watch all your videos BUT I LOVE your talent and skill! You really inspire me; thank you for sharing your outstanding talent!
BTW-Very diplomatic. It's a great quality!
Keep posting!
i love your videos, and your voice... it's so soothing if i'm the least bit sleepy i will fall right to sleep lol(but it's not because your videos are boring!)
just wanted to say I have learned a lot from you thank you
Thanks for the tutorial Alexandra, I never knew you could get a satin varnish that way. I shall have to try it out.
This tutorial helped me a lot! I've played IW for years now and I still learned a few tricks today, such as use a fine pen for precision on hazards. One thing If I may add my input, is that a very thin wash of devlin mud (can't remember new name) over the whole model goes a long way towards an ancient feel if you want that, thanks again Alexandra
Your videos really have been a great help to me. I managed to pick the hardest Space Marine Chapter to paint (Imperial Fists), but the easiest Chaos Legion. Your videos have really helped for both ^^
A bit out of place on this video, but I really liked the rust bits on the Imperial Fist, aswell as the various metal colors used here. I paint up a lot of objectives aswell, which often are wounded or dead marines, and those colors really make them look very realistic.
Your voice has a very calming effect on me. I dunno why, but it does :-)
Hi Alexandra,
I just finished watching your video, im currently starting my own chaos army and have been interested in making the Iron Warriors so thank you for your painting guide for this :)
Great tutorial! thanks a lot for sharing!
Hello to you from Russia. Thank you for this video, it really helped with painting my Chaos Space Marines.
Very nice, very informative ;) Good work!
Wonderful video. Now maybe I can actually finish up my IW's. Thank you so much.
great looking mini
Looks sick.
Love it, going to reboot my old iron warrior crew
Very helpful, thanks!
Now I just need to translate the old colors to the new ones! I've got my own way of doing the IW, but I'm not happy with my Danger Stripes. Thanks for sharing your method! :)
Freaking awesome paint job I just started collecting choas I am totally making them Iron Warriors:D
Whooo! Iron Warriors! My favorite Legion!
Don't change a thing for haters, they're just being mean. they're not worth the effort. We watch these videos because we like you, and your painting skills. Peace!
Haters gonna hate "some people just want to see the world burn" hope fully the haters will leave you alone so to fight the hate I will give a like
Cheers!
hey alex your video's are always awesome. i watch every one of them.
you inspire me to change my water and raid my bits box , try out your colour schemes and always try to improve my painting.
the "haters" . it just boils down to jealousy and fools with nothing better to do
lots of love D
You have incredibly steady hands
hey great videos, just started CSM and going with the iron warrior look so its ideal! :D
Nice job!
love your vids am a fan war hammer 40k
No idea who the haters are, probably just trolls that go around disliking everything. I aint long found your vids, I think they are great! Ever thought of doing an Tau, Tyranids or Tomb Kings (Can you tell I play these armies)
Keep yp the good work!
Thanks so much!
well the hater could be like how i was when i first started to watch your videos, skip the tut and see what it looks like and they just dont like what they see, but i saw after doing that a few times that your awesome at painting so now ii dont skip to the back before sitting and watching the whole thing.
Hi Alexandra
Its looking really good. The real beauty about this scheme is how fast it paints up. The only thing that I dislike about GW's IW colour scheme is, that gold and yellow together just doesn't look good. So I tend to leave out the black/yellow chevrons/stripes, OR the gold lining when I paint IW's. But thats just me rambling.
Cheers
Amazing
best... series...evar
Thanks again for another top-notch video! I'm currently debating what army I should collect next as a competitive army - and all these chaos videos are swaying my favor! Out of interest have you done / considered any 50/50 split color scheme marines? Or any pre-heresy stuff? Also Dislikes are idiots, these are some of the best painting videos around - they are concise, free and very informative for all painting levels - keep em up! The Toobies support you!
wow, Alex's models look brilliant before there even half painted. mine look terrible.
dont worry about the haters they are jealouse of your brilliant painting skills
Fantastic MinI! I'll let my friend know about this vid, he's doing Iron Warriors ; )
Alex, seriously 6 dislikes out of 349 likes? Dont take that stuff seriously. Sure your voice is different but i got used to it really fast, now im addicted to your videos. Keep at it!
Can you do a tutorial for chaos raptors/warp talons,I've recently purchased but am a bit lost in how to paint them.keep up the great work, you are my go to gal for painting vids:)
nice solution....
Don't worry about the haters, they're just jealous idiots. Your painting tutorials are an immense help, keep it up, you're very good :)
i use the hazard stripes for my Alpha Legion bolters. i saw a picture of Alphas using them once and have kept it in mind ever since
i like you. you do good.
Now that is a Sexy Iron warrior! awesome Painting! ill show my friend this cuz he has always wanted a fast and easy iron warriors Army that looks very sexy!
You are wonderful. The likes tell it all.
This was extremely informative and helpful! Thank you! But I would like to know how you made the dark-steel mixture, It looks great and I would like to use it as well. (as in, how/how much of chaos black and boltgun metal did you have to mix?)
just mix in more and more black untill you are saticefied
***** Thank you!
dont sweat the haters i love the vids cant wait for more fantasy ones but even the 40k ones are cool
You do such good work. Did you end up gluing the bolter in place?
Thank you for uploading these videos, they are extremely helpful for me, as I am just starting to paint my CSM army. But I have two questions, at 7:25, I couldn't hear what wash you specified, could you clarify that? And as for the other question, would you recommend these overall colors and washes for the Iron Warrior vehicles? Thanks!
Thanx for showing the varnish, didnt know it was that easy, is it just to take away the shine or does it also protect the paint?
there will always be haters on youtube, they just dislike without reason just ignore them and btw this video has no dislikes :).
Great video
look to your war gear and your war gear will look after you! Well brushes, but the concept the same! I use high gloss white for the lens, then go over it with what ever color im using watered down if done right it looks like its lit up
nope i occasionely do.... does the paint give your glue problems bonding my plastic glue wont melt it... everyone says it melts throught the paint to but mine wont
Huh... for the gold I usually use tausept ochre (yellow foundation) then shining gold over it, but what do you think of that combo?
This is why CHAOS are the best
concentrate on the lovers not the haters ;) your videos are very good. i am quite new to this but you have already advanced my skills. however i would like some advice on my hurn prototype that i have to paint. ???
=)
What washes do you use? Like what company and which colors do you suggest
Great vids Alexandra. Thanks for taking the time to teach. Can I please make one observation? You have really good brush control but you're shooting yourself in the foot when it comes to fine detailing, by using such a large brush. Get yourself a 000 and a 0 sables. Your fine detailing will really sharpen up. Thanks again and ignore the haterz.... (y)
Are you going to be doing Death Guard? If so what version are you doing? Unpainted/grayish or sickly green?
whats the difference between gloss and satain?
where do i get such a base where the miniatur is put on?
that black box where you´re holding the hole time!
thx for answer
I have a question about this video...
If you had to paint this Iron Warrior without metalic colors for the silver parts and in a similar way you used to paint the World Eater... How will you proceed ?
Hi GP. currently, I am painting thousand sons CSM. I have tried numerous ways of painting them, yet I cannot find one I like. How would you suggest I paint them?
hey! this is an awesome paint job, the only thing im wondering is how on earth did u make the danger lines on the bolter so straight? im trying it right now and i cant seem to do it for the life of me lol
hi what is the ratio for the mix of your dark gold exactly? How much tin, bronze and gold?
Hi Alex !! Alternativen ?
Could i use the Purity Seal Satin Spray which has a semi-matt or satin finish instead of the varnish you uss?. it's the only one i could find.
sure
Mostly yeah, but some people may not want you to use converted Space Marine units that you can't get as Chaos originally, for example the jump pack units
Lol i love when she said handy dandy black wash jejejeje 23:36
I've seen some miniatures where the arms has to be assembled on the body, so you can paint the chestpiece before putting it fully together, maybe something to look at?
Is boltgun metal the same paint as Leadbelcher? btw, Alexandra you're amazing, don't worry about a couple of people who dislike your videos, there will always be someone who dislikes others for being popular.
its not the same but similar enough
i enjoy watching these videos :D...i'm a big fan of the warhammer 40.000 dark and gruesome steam\cyberpunk universe...someday i'll build an ork warband comprised of grots, nobz, lots of weird boyz and the whole lot that makes da ork orky :D and crush chaos good cuz spikey boyz make good fightin' ! anyway nice job :)
How do you have so much control over your brush!
TELL ME YOUR SECRET!!
No, I paint them while they are still on the spurs, then snap them off, file down the bits that are left, touch up, and then assemble
the right arm of my CSM is blocking the chest pieces and i'm finding it hard to paint the chest parts because of it. first world problems :'(
@GirlPainting Don't you think it is possible to obtain some good color transitions with level of gray without going for nmm ? Because in fact, i think that metalic paint don't allow so much variation in colors... That why i'm asking that...
what are you using to hold the minis?
Out of curiousity do you play or just paint?
