Liverpool didn't really use a real striker to win a UCL and premier league because other high quality players compensated for the goals, spain and other teams which understandably lack a real 9 (given the overinflated market) can use that liverpool as an example and not try to force in a low quality striker like morata

Quite simple if you ask me....they had a good core of players who peaked at the right time, and in the critical areas, they played for the same club which added to their familiarity....added to that is the fact that from about 08-12, which coincided with their dominance, the traditional powerhouses were either in a state of decline or rebuilding.
They were also very vulnerable to teams with pacy forwards (their defenders were not the quickest) and had Robben not bottled it, we'd likely be having a very different conversation. I also believe that had they met Brazil or Argentina back in 2010, they may have been eliminated earlier due to their said vulnerability to pace.
In the late 90s and early to mid 2000s, many of the traditionally strong European teams along with Brazil/ Argentina were stacked with talent. Zidane, Henry, Trezeguet,Totti, Maldini,Vieri, Battistuta, Lopez,Bergkamp,Kluivert, Ronaldo,Rivaldo,Roberto Carlos to name but a few. So many of these teams were evenly matched and more or less at their pomp. The same cannot be said during Spain's period of domination.
Anyway for what it's worth, to be they were probably the most talented team at euro 2020. If they can add some reliable firepower up front, they will likely be favourites for WC 2022.

There needs to be a revolution in Spanish scouting and training. They need to get more defenders and midfielders. They lack essential players in those areas. They have great players in the forward line that they don't pick.
E.g. Moreno at St, Inaki Williams and Rodrigo in the squad.
Pedri is a phenomenal player for his age, but you can't rely on him to do the work. Have midfielders like Fabian, Thiago, Olmo doing that work. Because they are all great midfielders.
