Indeed, inflation spiked at 11%, leading to massive hikes to food and energy, prices haven't dropped. It now sits at 2.3%, so prices are still increasing, just a little slower. Add to that high interest rates hammering mortgage owners and borrowers, and that water companies want to put bills up by between 30 and 91% and we'll all be even worse off in the coming years.
The tories have trebled the national debt. It sits at £2.8 trillion, so the interest payments will hammer the government, whoever is in charge, also add in the Post Office scandal and the infected blood scandal. How will the victims be paid when the country is broke?

A lot of the fall is energy, food prices and other prices are rising more than 2.1% it it depends what you buy how much inflation affects you, juice for example has risen more than champagne. The question is why did we have the highest inflation since the 1980's and wondered as many have pointed out it have naturally fallen anyway? We are just out of recession people know from their own experience everything is not super smashing great at the moment except the rich like Sunak.

Everyone wants more, more, more. No matter how much people have, they always feel they _deserve_ more. The overprivileged are destroying the ecosphere and endangering their children's futures so they can possess more than they need to live and be happy today. Humanity's future is rapidly being consumed by people with better lives than 80% of the humans struggling to survive today. Humanity disgusts me.

Our Chancellor with multiple properties he lets, telling us all not to be so pessimistic about the economic outlook. £160,000 or so as Chancellor is his gross salary. He has the usual access to expenses of an MP (commonly £70k to £300k, for an office to be set up, staff etc). Let’s assume a modest property portfolio of five properties. Let’s take the rent as an absolutely nonsensically-low one of a two bed house in the North of England - so that’s £700 a month, x 12 = £8,400 and we’ve decided he has only five properties…that’s £42,000 a year from those, gross income per annum. This ludicrously low estimate puts Mr Hunt as on £200k per annum gross salary per annum plus hundreds of thousands in expenses if he needs it, WHILE IN WORK…however if he lost his job, he’d be on a mere £42k per annum gross income. No, he won’t be signing-on come June 5th 2024. My pension was capped in effect by my employer - they BLOCKED me from putting extra in while earning, ‘because then they’d have to do it for everyone’ (I said I’d do it without any employer’s contributions on the extra). So I exist on £400 a month plus any other income - no, I don’t have a handful of properties to let out. We’re to fend for ourselves, but our employers literally get to say ‘no you can’t’. Take care all.
