I am still shocked that Newman is still on the roster. Why?
Yep, myers last year. A horrendous draft pick instead of the guy in Kansas city
Rashan Gary and Jaire Alexander both need to start playing up to their contracts. Really hope Hafley can figure out how to get these guys playing to their theoretical potential
Really almost everyone on the D needs to start playing up to their contract and draft status expectations lol
The only vets on D I trust are Kenny and Preston.
Lol
@@Captainkebbles1392 I agree, it’s very funny for two guys getting paid huge salaries to not play up to their contracts
Why is Royce even on the roster at all
Should have opened with Bruce Buffer...
"ITTTTTTTTT'S TIME."
Watching the show today reminds me that anybody that's on CZcams or TV or the radio are just people with their own opinions. Sometimes I agree with them, sometimes I disagree with them.
Whoa! chill out with hot takes my man!
Meyers will get the start at C no doubt but it’s his last year in GB. He won’t get a 2nd contract unless he completely balls out and gets a pro bowl/all pro nod. Same is true for stoke, he’ll get a chance to compete but unless he performs very well this year, it’s his last stint in green and gold. GB only gives 2nd contracts to great players, and 3rd to those HOF caliber.
Gute has drafted over 35 players in the last three off-seasons, and will continue to bring in big rookie classes to keep the fresh talent flowing in. It’s going to be a very competitive team with some great players to emerge but don’t get caught up falling in love with players because this game is not forever, but that G is
The Packers also give smaller second contracts for guys who’ve flashed but not really been consistent (like Kevin King a few years ago), so it’s possible Stokes could get another “prove it” contract
Wyatt has had opportunity
Even if Myers lifts his game, he could be gone, the same way Runyan cost too much to keep. We let Corey Linsley walk for cost reasons. I’ll be surprised if Myers gets a second GBP contract.
One of the challenges with make or break players is that 75% of them break.
I love when Perri is on, but I wish she had more confidence in her analysis and didn't make so many observations sounding like me trying to answer an equation in calculus class, "Its X over threeeeeeeeeeeee???"
Dillon a big bruiser back that didn't bruise. Another poor pick. Too high. I don't think he makes the team.
hell ya go packers 💚💛
An hour long video?? W
I want the 2 really big boys on the o and d line to really work out. Otherwise great convo! Go Pack Go!
And that is legitimate criticism...
Those who want to put Watson on any now-or never list, or don't realize that he, of all the numerous, and talented WRs on the rooster, has true dominant #1 talent. Why these aren't objective realizations is truly perplexing?
Can’t be that perplexing. If you miss half the time, frustration sets in, and if he doesn’t do it in year 3, it’s only natural what comes next.
All the more reason it’s a now or never season for him lol. If you think he really truly has #1 talent, isn’t it time that we saw that from him? No more excuses!
Because most people have never played sports, let alone football, and have zero respect for the grind these dudes put in, so when players get hurt, “fans” cry and complain endlessly if someone isn’t performing or doing what they want. I totally agree with you, Watson could be a top 10 maybe top 5 WR if he could put it all together. Let’s hope
Lol, you don't think Watson isn't a number 1? Look how many games he has played and then how many td's he has. Yep, he has been hurt. Jaire has missed more games than Watson has the past 2 yrs. Jaire makes 21 million a year.
@@leehemmersbach8018 exactly. Even when he just plays, he absolutely changes how defenses play against him. In the Dallas playoff game he was bracketed by 2 people all the time, despite being injured, which changes everything for the other pas catchers. It's insane for so many fans to not see this, imho.
I agree, it’s too early to say Watson is in a “Now or Never” situation. Now if this season he just has another injury filled season or is playing on a pitch count then u can put him in that conversation, but as of rn, I’d leave him out of that conversation.
Wish the best for Watson's health. But serious question: coming off draft season we've all heard endless amounts of what GB's staff looks for in players, and plenty about traits that take guys off their board. So here's the question: would it be wise to make hamstring injuries a deal breaker? I mean a harsh line - if you've *ever* had one, bzzzt - ya gone. Just seems like those are unique among the whole rainbow of injury types. If someone gets one, they tend to get more. Maybe even a lot more. And that there's not a whole lot you can do other than just cross your fingers.
I have a good friend who lives in Jacksonville, so I’ll be going to that game and there’s no way I’m not going to Nashville for a weekend for that game
Pretty Perri
Stokes another bad pick. Too high. Gutey had some really poor drafts in Rogers last few years. Could have lost his job if he didn't rebound.
Just wondering if Dillon was brought back to be a H-back/fullback.
I live in MI, and everyone keeps talking about the UFL kicker that keeps kicking 60 yard kicks. The Packers need to sign him, and give him a try out
Jake Bates has a serious boot. Different ball different beast the NFL is though. If he does end up a high end starter I hope its with GB if Carlson doesnt workout long term
I’d add Sean Rhyan
Mainly agree. With RG open, it's time to step up. If he doesn't, maybe he becomes (not a Rolls) Royce Newman...journeyman OL you have for an emergency.
Kenny is coming off a 7.5 sack season where he was very just above average in every other way...stop overvaluing sacks as a stat.
PFF has him as a slightly above average player who's play has been on decline since 2018. Big fat, slow, no endurance, injury concerns, and soon to be on the wrong side of 30. He's making 27 million as a 68 PFF. That's pathetic. He needs to go.
I have been watching the performance of Carlson for a minute.. I've looked at him with a jaundiced eye as soon as he missed his first kick.. To miss a kick in the PLAYOFFS WAS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE !
ALL HE HAS TO DO IS KICK.
KICK OR SELL INSURANCE 😡😖
Here come the Watson haters!!!!
He’s been thoroughly outplayed by Doubs, Reed and Wicks lol. I think it’s fair for people to want more from him
The Green Bay Packers have plenty of talented young receivers, but Dontayvion Wicks was named the team’s most underrated player ahead of the 2024 season. Regardless of how the outside world views him, Dontayvion Wicks is still a key part of Green Bay’s passing attack. It may have taken Dontayvion Wicks some time to turn into a playmaker as a rookie. However, by the end of the season, he was one of the most reliable weapons for Jordan Love. The Packers saw something in Dontayvion Wicks despite a dip in production in his final college season. While it took some time, Dontayvion Wicks broke out at the tail end of his rookie year. He caught 39 passes for 581 yards and 4 touchdowns in the 2023-24 regular NFL season. He added another receiving touchdown in the NFC Wild Card round against the Dallas Cowboys. Now, Dontayvion Wicks is looking to build on that rookie performance in 2024. Dontayvion Wicks isn’t the only young receiver showing a lot of promise in Green Bay. Jayden Reed was Green Bay’s 2nd-round draft pick in 2023. He had a dominant rookie season of his own, racking up 8 receiving touchdowns and another 2 scores on the ground. His versatile skill set in the slot made him a dynamic weapon for our Packers. The “veteran” receivers are also showing legitimate promise. Romeo Doubs and Christian Watson are entering their 3rd seasons in the NFL. Although the pair have dealt with injuries early into their careers, the 2 have combined for 23 receiving touchdowns in 53 games. Jordan Love is looking to ascend into an MVP-caliber quarterback in 2024. Having so many young weapons around him should help him reach to that next level this season. Go Pack Go 💚💚💛💛
Perri, you're the cutest.
Watson is overrated to every fan in the nfl except Green Bay ..
MLF was missing from the list. He had MVP Aaron Rodgers twice and couldn't get the super bowl. He's a great regular season coach, but he's not got it done in the playoffs. It's about winning championships not making playoffs. The 49ers are going to realize this with Kyle shanahan also.
This is a dumpster fire hot take.
1) Rodgers was heavily dictating the offensive plays during his time with MLF. The offense improved after moving on. During the postseason, the play calling was great this last year. It came down to Love making a couple of costly mistakes and the defense falling apart, which got addressed with a new DC and FA and Draft selections. Rodgers only attacks the perimeter because it is the safest place to throw, but the 2 high shell really shut down his play in the playoffs. He also got obsessed with attacking the line of scrimmage after learning that the 2 high was causing him problems and it was one of the worst looking offenses I've seen.
2) MLF just got a 1st season QB to play at a Pro Bowl-esque season.
3) The Packers care much more for relevancy than Championship chasing. If this was the case, they would have drafted Rodgers a WR instead of Love. The Packers need to be a popular team to make money since they are without an owner. They don't want to relive the 80's.
4) GB doesn't move on from coaches unless they demonstrate consistent poor production. Mccarthy got canned after 2 back to back failing seasons while having Aaron Rodgers. It takes something drastic like that for GB to move on, not a coach that produces winning teams.
So let’s fire every coach that isn’t Andy Reid and bill belicheck. Got it.
I disagree on watson they should have traded him in the taylor deal and if he has a good year they should look to move on
