Absolutely loved everything about this episode. Both of you channeled everything in my objective fan boys mind. There’re sooo many really talented players on this team it’s mind blowing. Coupled with some exquisite looking defensive rookies, at key positions of weakness, as well as super intriguing weapons like Lloyd. It’s hard to contain the hype for the very real possibility that this offense can be 2010/2012 level super explosive. With Hafley defense possibly unlocking the talent, potential & scheme flexibility matched with so many talented players….I’m trying to contain the possible SB run hype. Play on the field & injuries may settle my enthusiasm. My top hype player is Watson. My brother & I were just wondering about his best historical GB WR comparison. I said Javon Walker level domination with James Lofton speed. While he said that Watson is in his own category because we may have never seen a GB WR with this level of sheer physical talent that terrifies defenses. Who’s right? I have no idea, but this dude healthy…is the NFC nightmare because he’s already shown that he can be uncover-able. So many great storylines for this season. It’s a GREAT time to be a GB fan. GPG.

GB wasn’t taking a corner in the first.. didn’t matter who was there. You gotta solidify the offensive line when you have a franchise QB. We had questions on that line and Morgan answered some of those questions.

Everyone is excited about the potential of Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed, and Dontayvion Wicks, and understandably so. But don’t forget about Bo Melton, who stepped up with 16 catches for 218 yards and a touchdown in the final 4 games of the regular season. He had only played 2 offensive snaps before week 15 but made the most of his opportunity and Bo Melton has made a strong start this offseason. The Packers have one of the deepest receiving corps in the league, and Bo Melton will have a role to play this 2024-25 NFL season. Go Pack Go 💚💚💛💛

I realize safety isn't considered a premium position, but we've seen how bad safety play can have a disastrous effect on a defense. So, I'm glad we loaded up at that position. And we obviously needed more linebackers, an explosive running back and interior line depth. I, too, wish we would have taken Tampa instead of Hopper, but there must have been some reason why T.J. lasted until late in the fourth round.

The Green Bay Packers head Matt Lafluer decided to take a 180 head turn. By hiring former Boston College head coach Jeff Hafley, the Packers will run a completely different style of defense, starting with a transition from a 3-4 base defense to a 4-3 base defense that the Packers haven’t ran since 2008. The differences between base schemes aren’t so pronounced as they were in 2009, when the Packers made the transition to a 3-4 base under Dom Capers. Currently, teams run nickel defense most of the time, so they play with 4 down lineman either way. However, there are structural differences in alignment and gap strategy. But Jeff Hafley’s differences when compared to Joe Barry go much beyond the base. The Packers will have a single-high centric defense- goodbye, 2-high/quarters-heavy defense. And Jeff Hafley is also much more aggressive to send blitzes and to apply man coverage. The big problem for the Packers over the last couple of years was a perception that Joe Barry (and Matt Lafluer) wanted to run a scheme that wasn’t ideal for the defensive personnel they have. Our cornerbacks Jaire Alexander and Eric Stokes, for example, are well suited to play man coverage, and Joe Barry’s zone-heavy scheme doesn’t take advantage of what they do best. It can also be applied to our safety Darnell Savage. He played better under Mike Pettine, who allowed him to be closer to the line of scrimmage. With Joe Barry, Darnell Savage was forced to play as a deep safety, something he isn’t equipped for. His value for the Packers and his perception around the league went South. Jeff Hafley has a big NFL track record in terms of varied defensive schemes. He’s worked under Greg Schiano, Mike Pettine, Jim O’Neil (who was Mike Pettine’s coordinator with the Cleveland Browns), and Robert Saleh. Jeff Hafley worked 3 years in San Francisco, the last 2 of which under Robert Saleh. And the 49ers ran a 4-3 base defense, with a heavy usage of cover-man 3. Robert Saleh has gone through a transition over the years, but his roots as a defensive mind came from the Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll. Greg Schiano liked to run simulated pressures, something that has been trending again in the NFL, and that’s something Jeff Hafley can take advantage of as well. It will be a process to understand exactly what Jeff Hafley will run as our Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator. After all, he had several different perspectives to absorb, and it’s yet to be known how he will adapt his college approach to the NFL. However, it’s clear that Matt Lafluer wanted something completely different from what they had with Joe Barry and that’s what they will get. Go Pack Go 💚💚💛💛

I agree with Andy's sentiment regarding Hafley 100%. This is the 1st time I've had optimism regarding a DC in all my 30+ years as a Packers fan. Sometimes, you can just look at a talent and tell that they will succeed. Andy is right to describe his traits as tangible. That resonated with me. I'm a manager at my work, and Jeff does all the things a manager/coach should do well. He understands his job concepts, the big picture, and the ability to detail the business at a high level. You can tell he knows how to get in with the guys and coach them in the trenches. He also knows how to scale back deep topics and make it simple and learnable. He can detail something into a simple phrase so he can say something quick to his team and have them know the depth of what that means. There are plenty of guys in his kind of role that are good at 1 or a couple of those things, but it's rare to find someone who does all of those things well. The only sad thing is that I think Jeff won't be with us for long if he has higher career aspirations. The guy is going to get a HC opportunity in the next year or 2.

I really enjoy Ross's work. I know the Packers are extremely secretive regarding their pre-draft analysis and their "Draft War Room", however, I would love to see Ross do a deep dive into his knowledge, insight or best guess as to what occurs building their draft board and day of draft decisions. Does Gutey make the final call with every draft selection? How much input does Matt LaFleur have? Do the offense and defensive coordinators get to weigh in to any great degree? Do various coaches or scouts lobby or pound the table for "their guy"? I've always wanted to be a fly on the wall in the Packer's Draft War Room. I think Ross could bring us the next best thing to being there. Go Pack Go!

In my opinion on kicker it is what it is. Carlson is what it is 6-7 isn’t bad but I understand he let us down last season especially in the SF playoff game. But not many teams have a great kicker. Asking a kicker to be 100% is impossible. Only one team has a Justin Tucker. That’s like asking for the Tom Brady of Kickers 😂 it’s just not realistic. We just need to hope he learns and gets better. There are no other options out there. He’s also super young he needs time to DEVELOP.
