Yzerman is literally the most beloved person in Detroit. I don't think there's anyone else in the world I'd have rather saw on here. Thank you guys, fantastic interview
I was just thinking about this. At some point he's probably surpassed Gordie as the greatest Red Wing of all time. Living legend. Once he wins a cup here as a GM, he'll move into deity territory.
@@scotey It's hard to surpass Gordie, but he's definitely #2
@@danieldosso2455 You don't think SY becomes No. 1 if he wins another Cup as a GM?
@@scotey Good question. In Detroit it's likely. But unfortunately Stevie isn't as appreciated outside of Detroit as he should have been, or currently is. Howe will always be #1 due to his lefty place in NHL scoring.
rather seen
the humbleness from Yzerman is amazing, he is so real and human.
Agree this is one of the things that make him so great.
This was like listening to god himself speak to me.
Yzerman has quite the accompliments, simply amazing...and what a player. One of my all time favs. thanks for bringing him on.
Off the top of my head, Yzerman seems to be the most talkative (that isn't talking about nothing) former player in an executive position in my opinion. I'm not quite done the episode as I'm typing this, but this has been one of my favourite interviews from Agent Provocateur yet!
From Tampa Florida we thank you for building our organization and turning it over to a capable replacement when you went home. Good Luck in Detroit
Yzerman and Vinnik are two ppl id die for
Very nice sentiment--that's awesome and we need more of it.
Lot of haters have been silenced regarding the Yzerplan the past few weeks. Man it feels good
Yzerman for President.
Just wanted to comment to say how excited I am as a Detroit Red Wings fan to listen to this
I've never clicked on an episode of Agent Provocateur so fast.
So funny to hear Steve Yzerman say he was too starstruck to talk to Bruce Springsteen 😂
My question is whether Bruce Springsteen would be just as start struck with "The Captian"!
what in the actual hell how did you get Yzerman!! So pumped for this episode!!
Yzerman is one of those people I could sit and listen to talk hockey all day.
So awesome to get to hear from Stevie Y. He doesn’t have much media availability during the season so I really appreciate this chance to hear him in such a laid back environment. My respect for him was already high, but even higher now. Just such an awesome, intelligent, personable guy
Loved the episode as always, really glad you guys were able to get him on!
I've never heard Stevie so open and relaxed. He must have just enjoyed a great meal. Great interview. Guess Dylan, and Tyler were off-limits (understandably so). Thanks for this.
Lol I love how Stevie is just a regular ass guy even though he’s a freaking god among men
Even as a leafs fan who hated the wings growing up, still liked Yzerman. Legend.
Love these episodes with the GMs. So insightful and great to hear different sides of the game you don't hear and/or don't think about.
This is so cool! I listen to a lot of SDPN content but this may be the best thing you've put out yet. Love hearing the background of Yzerman getting into management.
This is great! Love hearing him so plainly go over things. Great player, GM and person and that carries a long way.
Much more of a down to earth kinda guy than I expected. Great chat!
This was very cool to listen to. I joined the military the year Steviee Y was drafted and retired the same year he retired from playing. I loved watching him evolve into the Hall of Famer he is and continues to be. It's always interesting to hear about the business side of things, but even more so to hear the human side of someone's experiences. He just seems like such a neat person and could teach a lot of people some very valuable leadership lessons outside of hockey. Lead by example, listen to other opinions, don't be afraid to surround yourself with people that are more knowledgeable about something than you, treat people honestly and with respect, and ultimately negotiate conflicts from a win-win position when you can.
Ain’t no way y’all got my captain
The Captain
Thanks for this. Yzerman is my fav player and the goat!
What a great conversation with one of the legends.
Thank you for bringing this incredible interview to us. Really appreciate this access to the mind of Yzerman.
Fascinating webcast. Thank you Allan and Adam for your questions! I learned a lot about what a GM does from Steve's responses. I have been the biggest Steve Yzerman fan since his rookie year.....
This is by far the best episode yet!!
Yzerman is such a G!
I still think CJ is the biggest guest of all time , guys a juggernaut 💪
Steve is a humble guy,if it was me when the Wings got screwed over and over in the draft I would be screaming murder. The rules need to change!!
Fantastic episode - Steve is just the best. Glad he’s still around in the hockey world
Mr Walsh, a good video with Mr Yzerman. Prior to Mr Yzerman's success and being selected 4th overall in 1983 by Detroit, The Colorado Rockies had traded their First round picks of 1981, 1982, and 1983. The 1981 first round pick was traded June 10, 1981, and they moved back wards from 3rd to 5th; 1982 first round pick was the trade with Boston and that was made in July 21, 1981 dropping the Rockies back to number 18; The Isles traded with the Rockies in October 1, 1981 for Bob Lorimer and Dave Cameron and gave up their first round pick; Carpenter is selected 3rd overall/Francis is selected 4th in 1981, Kluzak is selected 1st overall; and Lafontaine is selected 3rd overall (Rockies/NJD gets Lorimer and Cameron) and Yzerman goes 4th to Detroit; Seeing as Adam is a NJD fan, I just wanted to mention these trades.
I was a lot more confident in the Yzerplan until I found out he only works out to U2 and now I’m having to totally rethink everything! Lol
Weird hearing Adam say "Steve" and have it refer to YZERMAN and not Dangle lmao
Wow. A real coup to get Stevie Y on the program. Kudos!
Amazing episode, how the hell did they get stevie at this time of year lol
Well he had time. He said there are times where you aren't doing anything as a gm and this was one of those times. The wings are pretty healthy, he is only working on signing larkin and bertuzzi right now or trading bertuzzi, and deciding on next years goaltending because we have 3 free agent goalies I believe. Idk if he holds onto hellberg or not. Hellberg is older. Ned has been in a funk the last 3 games for GR but he took a hit to the head at the start of the first game and has been just off since. Before that he was doing really good in GR and was carrying them. There isn't much on his plate. Detroit isn't looking to buy really or sell. Just stay the course. That's all we need to do right now.
thank you guys to make that great interview possible
One of the best Steve interviews I ever listened to. Great job!
Awesome episode! Amazing podcast!! 🌟
When the siren was going off towards the end of the episode i thought Yzerman was gonna say "well here comes my ride"
That was really interesting! It is rare to hear someone talk about an executive position like a *job* in the way that normal people talk about jobs.
Great interview guys
What a great vid guys! Stevie is awesome guy!!
In Stevie we trust
Holy crap!
I can only click the like button once. Great get...
Love this!
My man!
56:08 Steve talking about moving back to Detroit while I police siren sounds outside his window 😄
Getting Stevie to talk on record is rare as a yeti sighting. Wings in playoff race at end of February after 7 years of horror show he know how to build a team from ground up. He's got the whole town believing. Truly a unicorn human.
Yzerman!! Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?!?! Nice
Love it!!!
He is the type of person you want your child to be like when they grow up what an amazing person Steve yzerman Detroit greatest
Hearing Stevie Y is reading The MVP Machine is pretty cool, The writer of that book is one of the hosts of, in my opinion, the best baseball podcast, Effectively Wild
I love these interviews, can you try getting on a terrible GM please? You have to many good people on, I want to hear an hour with Chuck Fletcher trying to blag it like he knows what he's doing.
What a scoop!
Adam Wylde is on first name basis with Stevie Y...
lets let that sink in a bit
Can anyone give me some time stamps?
I think Adam's questions would be more appropriate on The View than a hockey podcast.
How does this not have more likes??
Summer of 84'
When I was in school, I ran into him over the weekend in the gym. He was alone at the end of a long narrow hallway, and I was walking towards him from the entrance. Unable to identify him, I'm trying to size this guy up at the end of the hallway, trying to assess if he's a threat sort of thing... And I see his smaller stature, non threatening stance.. immediately consider him a weak threat. As I get to about 20 ft from him, he turns to look at me, and the thoughts that ran through my head were hilarious. First, "HFS", 2ND, This guy would murder me. 3rd, the guilt and shame for even thinking about fighting him. All encapsulated in a meager, cracked voice "hey".
Hope u r not a cop and your medication kicks in soon.
Wow where’s bill? I guess this Yzerman fella will do.
Pretty funny how they created two podcasts that I have a really hard time arguing that the OG one is better then the CJ show and agent provocateur
I thought there is no way they top Scotty.....I was wrong.
Wow
Adam, did you ever think that you’d be interviewing Yzerman while wearing sweatpants?
LOL not a chance. how'd you know I'd be wearing sweatpants?? ;)
@@adam_wylde Well, it was either that or the Erin Andrews collection. Do you think Stevie was wearing sweats as well?
Think Bruce should send him some tickets for the show since Steve is not sure if he can get good seats. Ha ha So funny how he jokes around.
He's no Mark Messier but still great to see him on sdpn
He was better in every single way than messier.
One was traded, one was untouchable
wylde just woke up?
yoooo
19
Adam, I'm very curious if you mentioned to Yzerman that you think his legendary status in Detroit is overrated?
But in all seriousness this is a huge get for the channel. Congrats on getting an Yzerman interview.
Overrated? You cant be serious, right?
Omg
Of all places for yzerman to do a rare interview. I bet Adam wishes a leafs great would come back and be the GM but Ballard exiled all of them. PLEASE STEVE SIGN LARKIN
Glad you didn't ask him why. You don't ask Stevie why he's Stevie freaking Y baby
Where’s bill Clinton?
Stop! You didn’t!
@allan Walsh why do you have so many left wing clients ?
Yzerman is a great GM. Of course, I do have my biases. Although I am a Leafs fan (God have mercy on my soul), the very first team I loved was Detroit, and Yzerman was a big reason for that.
In the Yzerplan we believe 👍🥅🏒❤
LGRW 👍
