    I recently had a small chip on my windshield that turned into a long crack. I called a local glass repair shop for help. They drilled a hole at the end of the crack but didn't fill it as I expected. Instead, they applied resin all over the crack with plastic film to cover it. Unfortunately, the crack continued to grow even after paying extra for the "repair."
    Feeling frustrated, I searched for solutions online and came across your video. Your method seemed logical, so I called the shop again letting them know the the crack continued to grow they told me to bring it in the next day, I suggesting we make another hole and use a windshield repair kit with resin applying resin with a q tip. However, they dismissed the idea and were unwilling to try it, they said they don't work that way in their shop. So, I asked them to simply drill a new hole for me, and I would handle the repair myself.
    When I got home, I used a windshield repair kit and carefully applied resin along the crack with a Q-tip. It took some time, but the results were much better than what the professionals did. Although the crack isn't completely invisible, it's a significant improvement.
    I wanted to thank you for sharing your video. It truly solved my problem. It's unfortunate how some so-called professionals can be arrogant and dismiss good advice. While I thought about showing them my successful repair, I believe their ego might prevent them from accepting it.
    Thank you again for your helpful guidance.

    @Crack Attack Auto Glass You did an awesome job, you took your time and I'm glad I got to see the Crack Resin from Glass Technologies in use, it performs very well. And I normally use a Lighter on chips and cracks to cure the resin and to seal it. but the UV light is the best option for it with the proper amount of heat. Also the Q' Tip is a good option although i believe it sucks up too much resin than what is needed, and the rest goes to waste. I recently acquired the set of 3 crack jacks from GT tools and dont know if they are placed right on the crck or on the side. Great tip on keeping the injector on the pressure cycle when filling in cracks. High 5

    Amazing video for pro grade crack repair! I do feel for curing removing the jacks would be better, as after removing the jacks the windscreen is back to its actual curve shape and will expel excess resin. If you care it with jacks, there will be some pressure on the screen forever (not saying it will result is something superbad) so maybe its best to have the glass in its actual form without nay tension embedded.

    Thank you for one of the best videos on spider crack windshield repair. Odd question: if the chip that created the break was from the inside, do you have to seal the cracks from the inside of the windshield, or do you still treat it from the outside? I feel like if there is a coating of some sort on the outside of the windshield, the resin may not penetrate…but I also think if it is cracked, then it is cracked through and through and you could repair it from either side. Thoughts?

      @@crackattackautoglass1740 Good to know. But can you also explain why so? I assume if the crack were ONLY on the inside, then it might be more difficult to apply the sealant, BUT it should still work because the resin can wick upward anyway, shouldn't it?
      Besides, if a crack is on BOTH outside and inside, your normal approach of setting bridge on the outside of windshield should work equally well, shouldn't it?

    • @vadimrudachenko1680
      @vadimrudachenko1680 Před 2 lety +4

      I only drill when I have to start from that end . I think I touched on this in the video. So pretty much if the crack runs downward I would drill the end , because it would be the lowest point of the crack so it would be a starting point for injection, since we always want to wick resin upwards to avoid air bubbles. If the crack runs upward , then the chip would be the start of injection, in this situation I would not drill the end since it would be the end point of the repair
