    Very good training. I also slide the bottle with the resin over the crack to inject resin, the only downside you can waste the resin.

    Great vid!. This is my go to method. However running the injector along the break is great to know how to do also should an pesky air bubble show up.

    Thanks GasWeld, still have question regarding drilling; do we need to drill if there is no end and crack is growing?

    I did my first repair today 3/11/2021, it was a chip with three 2” cracks I have no experience in repair of windshields and it turned out really good. It was on a leased car BMW. I think I need the crack extenders because I was struggling a little to get the resins to flow into the longer cracks. After the job was done I could only see a tiny spot, I tried to make the spot go away with the pit filler but it remained the same.

      Nice job Alex! Yes, the expanders will help with a smoother resin flow. When you're ready to take your technique to the next level, here's a video on long crack repair to help you out. We recommend practicing on an old piece of glass. Good luck! czcams.com/video/JtbJ-jNHHns/video.html

    Did you cure with the expanders on the inside of the glass?

    • @glasweld
      @glasweld  Před 4 lety +3

      Hello! We recommend slowly backing off the pressure on the screws of each crack expander before curing to allow the crack to slowly close up. Hope that helps.

    Once it has been cured and you don't like the result, can you redo it again or it's can only be completed 1 time only?

    • @glasweld
      @glasweld  Před 2 lety +1

      Once it's been cured you can't go back and redo it. It's important to set realistic expectations from the beginning with your client, especially if the crack isn't brand new.

    What if there is no entry point of the break? Will you need to drill at both end of the crack?

    • @glasweld
      @glasweld  Před 3 lety

      Hello Guerrero, that's right, you will want to be able to inject resin into the crack, so an entry point is needed.

    • @empoyvega6795
      @empoyvega6795 Před 3 lety

      Appreciate your response. Can I drill in the middle of the crack as well? The long crack I have is arching in the middle bottom of the windshield...just above the dashboard..so 1 entry in the middle and 1 at the end of the crack...will that be risky?

    • @glasweld
      @glasweld  Před 3 lety

      @@empoyvega6795 Hey, it really depends on your skill and of course the break. If it's possible that you don't have to drill, then try not too because drilling can always be risky. But if you need some assistance our team can help give you some more guidance. Send us a photo of your repair and your inquiry to info@glasweld.com

    I don't get how crack separators are necessary given the crack is on the opposite side of the crack separators

    • @annabellewallis291
      @annabellewallis291 Před 2 lety

      The pressure from the extenders is just enough to open the crack that little bit extra for the resin to flow in the crack more deeply & easily

    • @Marcoosianism
      @Marcoosianism Před 2 lety +1

      The crack expanders put pressure on the INSIDE of the glass right on the crack so that the outside bends to a more CONVEX shape and the crack opens up a bit.
