Shakey Graves is the post-folk alter-ego of Austin, TX artist Alejandro Rose-Garcia. His southern, old-world sound is completed by frenzied finger-picking and a homemade portable suitcase drum kit. Between sensible balladic moments gnarly, unconstrained guitar tones wail and screech out his ragged guitar.
A master of storytelling, he focuses intently on the correct verbage to spin a tale. Drawing references from literature, folklore and his own life connects Shakey’s music to listeners across generations. A signature hat, wife-beater and proper boots is the uniform of choice for the incredible one man show: Shakey Graves on Audiotree Live.

Shakey is a true artist. His improvisational expression of blue grass/rockabilly is so nuanced like that of the great jazz musicians from the 20's & 30's. I love how the melodies ramble, then ricochet, whisper & roar. He's in the zone with unapologetic abandon. And it's incredible!
There's A LOT of good artists in the world but shakey is an all around GREAT artist. Brother covers literally every facet of a genuinely GREAT band! Top shelf type stuff! 👍

I went to college with the host, and he is easily one of the funniest and most clever people I have ever known!
Different strokes for different folks I guess. I found the interview to be completely lacking in substance. Most of the questions were trivial and not interesting.

Shakey Graves doesn't sweat. What looks like sweat is actually residual talent that can't be held in his slender frame. So it just drips out of his pores. when he moves. Like trying to move a saturated sponge.

Saw him in August, and September, and will again in December...his live shows are unbelievable...best live musician I've ever seen.

I feel like the interviewer had researched and prepared good questions and then was awash in awe and pheromones and the full performance - so while under the Shakey Graves effect babbled out questions about sweat and tour food.

I honestly can’t name a better live performance. We are lucky to be around in Shakey’s prime. All genius’s have a peak, and everyone wishes they were there to witness it. I think he has a few more decades, but this is definitely one of his most beautiful performances. Thank you 🙏

I thought as an interview it was completely useless, nothing meaningful asked and nothing meaningful answered. It was as though the ginger guy couldn't think of a question or anything useful to say so he just talked shite. As far as a bit of ice breaking chit chat to put a guest at ease it was OK but a bit awkward really!
Except there were a bunch of racist remarks from the guy at the studio...
