Hi guys thanks for watching
Just wanted to say in this video I edited out quite alot of sanding. I don't want to bore you guys with sanding footage. If you guys are interested in a more comprehensive video on sanding let me know. This frame was sanded through 40, 80, 100, 120, 150, 240, 320, 400, 500 grit, finished with boiled linseed oil and banded with 0.7mm green snipersling bands cut at 22-12mm tapers
Thanks for sharing your project.
Looks excellent.
🙋🙋🙋🙋 The inaccurate one would be interested in a sanding video. Its my favourite part, you get to see her get prettier and prettier with the grits lol 🤩
Wonderful tutorial! I watched several videos from this channel and today I finally made a very similar slingshot model with an ergonomic handle from dry walnut wood. It turned out just great, thanks to the information received on the channel. Thanks and respect to the author for sharing this!
That's some real Zelda worthy craftsmanship! I would pay extra for one like that! Definitely something Zelda would go on a mission to find one of those.
Yeah Chris! You finally made it. Yew is by far the best wood for the most beautiful natural slingshots! And I think it's patriotic, too bc of GBs Longbow History!
We Germans must only use oak and sauerkraut-slings, that's really annoying 😅...
All the best for you and your family from Leipzig, Germany!
Ooops, dangerous territory... I am talking of the Longbow tradition of England, aware that you live in Northern Ireland, forming the United Kingdom along with Scotland, Wales and England. I don't want to offend anyone and am a fan of the UK. God Save the King!
Nice save, Phil. Nice save.
Thanks a lot. It suddenly struck me that praising N. Ireland for its glorious 'yew history' could be as dumb and offensive as... eh... congratulating a guy from Berlin for his mighty 'Lederhosen and Octoberfest' tradition, which would at best be considered a good joke or funny nonsense, but more likely answered with a headbutt (good old 'Glasgow kiss') 😢 and certainly prove that the speaker has no idea of the country's history or culture. Have a good week. ❤
what a stunner. Nice work Chris
Very nice frame! 👍
Hi Chris, I work with wood extensively, moisture is a bugger, while you wait for it to leave the timber unfortunately timber can also suck it in. The conditions its left in can reflect that. Its all about where you leave it before you get the chance to seal it.
Excellent build, Chris. Thanks for bring us along.
Omg my friend beatiful
Yeah man I told you about yew being a softwood. One of the hardest softwoods about. Lovely frame chrisy

Great video not seen you make a frame for a while didn't know that about yew being a softwood, popular in bow making.
That frame turned out very nice definitely think it's going to be hard to give away but what a learning curve.

What type of oil did you immerse the frame in? Linseed oil?
top job looks the business pal
Beautiful!!!!!
Thank you! Cheers!
@@CatapultCarnagehi chris so great to see you again i missed you. That residual moisture all you do is cover it in superglue where you think its gonna dry too fast. Also seeps into the wood making it harder. I do it always. No problems or cracking yet
Wow! That's a beauty Chris! Very ergonomic looking!
Thanks buddy. Really pleased with it
@@CatapultCarnageironicly balsa woods a hard wood. Grain structure

Beautiful frame, I struggle to get much yew here, but plenty of Ash and Oak.
You and me both. Yew is quite rare in general

@@CatapultCarnage HI Chris fortunately I've got a lot of old Yews in my area , I'm happy to send you a couple if you want them mate, I'm a newbie to catty's and shooting but i love it and am very passionate about them , incidentally I shot with your medium Titan last week at a hunters course in Kent , England
Do you make these to sell? They are some fine slings 🤙🏼🤙🏼😎
Will you Sell this Beauty?
sweet.... John Webb makes a ton of yew forks... if it's a type of pine.. I wouldn't worry of strength issues... the pine trees around here the old dead branches in the lower are hard as iron n a bitch to break... nice to see back.. missed ya.. so when's the next installment of slingin it??? 😂 don't even care if ya go off topic 😂
It's beautiful will you give it to me hehe
I can't it's a gift for a good friend
