- In this video, I'll take you through the process of making a beautiful and functional slingshot from cherry wood using a combination of power tools including a bandsaw, belt sander, Spindle sander and disc sander.
I'll start by selecting the perfect piece of cherry wood and then show you how we use the bandsaw to rough cut the shape of the slingshot. From there, we'll move on to the belt sander, which will allow us to quickly and efficiently remove the wood into the desired shape.
Next, we'll use a disc sander and spindle sander to refine the slingshot's shape, ensuring that it's comfortable to hold and aim.
Throughout the video, I'll share my personal tips and techniques for shaping and sanding the slingshot as well as my take on ergonomics
By the end of the video, you'll see the slingshot take shape, from a rough piece of wood to a finely-crafted tool that is ready to use. I hope that my passion for woodworking and the art of slingshot making will inspire you to try your hand at making your own slingshot, whether you choose to use power tools, hand tools, or a combination of both.
So sit back, relax, and enjoy this celebration of the art and craft of slingshot making from cherry wood, using a combination of power tools and a deep love of woodworking.

congratulations my friend. a beautiful handmade slingshot, a work of art for those who understand a good slingshot.
I have to say, your channel is great, and you are brilliant at making home made slingshots. I’m newly back to catty’s after many years, and I’m just getting into the flat banders, they seem excellent. Your wooden catty’s are works of art 👍🇬🇧
👌🔥🔥
Stunning Chris, I think this my favourite natural you've made up to now. You were right about the grain👍
All my favourites I've made the wood showed me how to get the best from it. No one will ever have the same, when hand made.
Be well Bud.
Revolver grip 😉 Excellent work, had a couple of laughs. 👍
Love the shape of that Natural looks like it would just melt into the palm of your hand.. another great video... 👍 👌
Nice looking ergo shape Chris!
Your catapults should have there own museum.
What a work of art. Sweet frame!
Stunning! Never heard of sanding mesh before, I can see how beneficial it could be for tight radiuses 👍

Beautiful work and great explanation of what you're doing and why you're doing it!!!
Супер рогатка, супер канал!
Excellent work, keep e coming.
Beautiful work
Muito top seu trabalho, parabéns 👏👏👏
I have the impression that in the summer, when it's hot, all the latexes become terribly slow.
i think its the opposite matey, when the band is hotter it improves the speed 👍
👏👏👏
Chris are you planning on hitting any of the uk competitions this year
💯💯✌🏽✌🏽
Beautiful! What fork widths do you usually make ?
Love the bark, I've used the bark on some wood before and it fell off. Any tips for keeping it on or is it because I was using yew and other woods hold onto their bark better?
Hello friend excuse me what size of bands do You use for hunting rabits? Saludos desde Costa Rica aaa Nice videos
Joerg over at the Slingshot channel once said about Naturals is more like they're already there you're just a medium to release it from the prison. Or something along those lines.
True words
🥰🥰😍
Nice video man!!! You gave me inspiration to do it myself! I have one question what is the name of that kind of oil you put your catapult in at the end?
What active band length are you using?
What pouches are you using? As I was using Gamekeeper Johns brown leather which I absolutely love but sadly can’t buy them no more as he’s shut everything down in purchasing from him 😢 so now I need to find something similar, you have any suggestions? Thank you
What smock is that you are wearing for the outdoor shots please ?
Hello, the best size for the bullet?
Hi just one question do you sell your snapshots are they available thanks
Hi I dont know the first thing about catapults but want to scare off pigeons with a low power device using "soft" ammo so they get a good smack but are not killed!! Any recommendations/ thanks!
Can you teach us how to draw a slipshot pattern on wood
How to buy this from you in India ❤
😂❤❤😂
Great build Chris! That really is a beauty. I really like that yellow. I have found the same thing with the yellow. Doesn't like the cold but you will have a hard time finding a better summer band. You know I got a lot of criticism about my thoughts on cold shooting. I think most people go go up in thickness and taper. I did a video on exactly what you said. Go up in thickness and down in taper. Still get good speed and less draw weight for better accuracy. It was good to hear you confirm my thoughts bro.
You've probably proved with your speed tests what I've thought to be true lol as for criticism buddy you can do anything worthwhile without critic's 😉 keep up the good work
