Best.Episode.Ever. , and it's not even close...Too bad Gabriel has had a stick up his ass for 40 years, and he "allowed" other songs of his on the show, now DVD sets and streaming has everything BUT the best episode ever, f n shame. I had the DVD boxed set with "Evan", included, moved cities and somehow it got lost, ...the chemistry between Crockett and Freed was undeniable, the writing, the best, the season ender of Year 1, never forget when it aired originally, had a whole room of Vice fans, bunch of my friends, dudes in college, not a dry eye in the house, some openly weeping, ..."now it's your turn,....Sonny", mic drop 🎤

William Russ as Evan owned this scene. This is movie type acting on tv, but Miami vice had dozens of scene's where the acting was top notch in each episode.

Evan is my all time favourite episode of MIAMI VICE and one of my favorite pièces of tv drama. The Evan character is both disturbing and sad all at once, William Russ really steals the show hère, when i think of an episode to put on when introducing someone to MIAMI VICE this is the one I point to.

I've seen that before with the I love love lucy show. It seems Amazon excludes the most popular episode when you purchase through streaming the shows. BUYER BEWARE. Anyhow I started watching all over again and didn't realize how great the acting was. The characters did overact who overplay stereo types with like we saw in the episode LOMBARD, who had a strained relationship with his son, which can be quite normal in any father son relationship.
For anyone wanting to see this episode it's only available on the DVD. The streaming services don't carry this one because of some issue with the music used on it. Try your local library and check out the disc. I saw this episode for the first time in 20+ years thanks to it being available by order from the library.

Evan was such a tragic figure. How’s does it feel to be perfect? Sonny was the perfect cop, and Evan despised that. In the end, though, Evan was forgiven for his actions and finally could rest in peace.

Sonny knew that Evan was a bigot, which led to the outing and suicide of a colleague who was gay. Apparently, Evan was tormented by that and showed his unraveling behavior. A powerful scene between Don Johnson and William Russ.

Loved the talk between Crockett and tubbs at the gas station I think this is the episode when they really became close as partners and friends.!!!!!!!
