Brock Purdy (Only started 5 regular season games) and CJ Stroud both handled their business as rookies with teams deep in the playoffs in successive years. This is a thing now and McCoy needs to realize that the time he has been out of football changes have been made for instant success if you have a great team around you! Ben Roethlisberger went 13-0 in 2004 as a rookie QB and went to the playoffs. Joe Flacco also led his team to the playoffs in 2008, his rookie year! Russell Wilson and Mark Sanchez did the same! 21 rookies have been in playoff games as QB's in NFL history, but once they are there most haven't fared too well. This conversation is about making it to the playoffs and not how well they play in the playoffs! Shady has not done his research! Sanchez and Flacco both rookies lead their team to 8-7 and 11-5 records making it to the AFC Championship game, so anything is possible when that rookie QB is part of a good team. The Houston Texans record in 2022 is 3-13-1. Their record in 2023 is 10-7.
It's definitely possible that the Bears have a NFC North "competitive" dominance. Given the players that the Bears have going into the draft, and now the players that they have added from the draft, I'm more inclined to believe that this years Bears team will live up to their potential and perhaps beyond. There is no doubt this team and Caleb Williams is a part of that reason why. It's certainly one of the reasons why he was expected to go number 1 and why the Bears chose him.
Plus, his favourite player is Aaron Rodgers, so Caleb's favourite team are the Packers.
I say this as a devoted Chicago Bears supporter, but I'm kool with a Green Packers fan "Caleb Williams" to help elevate the Bears and its diehard supporters to the promise land.
Besides, it was a Greenbay Packers player that slammed Jim McMahon on his throwing shoulder that significantly changed his ability to be the QB that he could've been. McMahon could ball!
Caleb Williams has a bit of that bravado that Jim McMahon had and the "psychotic" determination that Michael Jordan has during his career.
That's a great recipe for something special!
Im looking forward to this journey indeed.
It will be more than a "shuffle" it'll be a tectonic shift.
    One can hope! 😉

If the Bears defense continues to hold up, I think Caleb and his new receivers and running back should be good for at least 3 more wins than last year. Not sure if 10 wins is good enough to make the playoffs though. But I CAN see them winning 12.
    Here is how:
They split their 3 division games, lose at the Texans and lose to the Rams at home, that’s 5 losses.
Then they go on the road and beat the Cardinals, Colts, Commanders and my 49ers, who will be dealing with their Super Bowl Jinx.
And at home they beat the Titans, Patriots, Panthers, Jaguars and Seadogs. That leaves them at 12-5.

And the Packers also bulked up this offseason too, they're a young team who's also a playoff team thats already somewhat proven. And the Vikings could be a sleeper team. It's ok for us to have different expectations. We all have our reasons for our expectations.
To me it's reasonable to conclude that even though the Bears were 7-10 with the team they had last year, they significantly upgraded their offense and got what I would think to be a better quarterback even if he is a rookie. He's a "generational rookie" that we've never seen on a team this good on paper! A good example would be the Niners a year ago. Look what Brock Purdy did with the Niners. So you think Purdy is better than Williams? Chicago is going after the division and they expect to be able to compete for it. I'll ride with them instead of panelists who go by what traditionally happens in the league.
Panelists say that "the last pick in the draft as a rookie QB shouldn't be able to go 8-0 and lead a team to the NFC championship like "Purdy" did." Panelists say that "a rookie quarterback shouldn't be able to lead a team to a playoff win like Stroud did. "BOTH HAPPENED."
As of late, there is more evidence to reason that Chicago will make the playoffs if Williams and the Bears stay healthy. They believe they will and so do us fans who watch the game closely!

You're really going to come in here and say that two top 10, proven veteran receivers and a talented rookie can't outscore St. Brown and Pettis?
Who was the OC last year? Getsy. You know, the guy who rode Rodgers' coattails and had never called plays before. Oh yeah, it'd be much better if we had kept him over Shane Waldron who has coached under Bill Belichick, Sean McVay, and Pete Carroll and helped resurrect Geno Smith's career. 🙄

Are they gonna play to exceed expectations or just play for money and for personal goals? What drives these guys to play next level. That's what makes champions who going to lead these men to go beyound what they think they are capable of; these are the intangibles that make all the difference 😉.
