And I'm not really one to put a disclaimers on my stuff, but I do want to say that this video is a joke and every time I make a joke or defend the book, I really don't care and only make a big deal out of it to be funny. I can already see the comments saying that I'm shaming people for their opinions and just want to clarify. I don't care, most my faves are trash and I know that lol. My defenses in this video are only for the lols and nothing else. But anyways I'm gonna go think about Tessa and Will and Jem and cry now because QOAAD comes out in four weeks and I don't even know what I'm gonna do. Pray 4 me. People keep asking my theories but I honestly don't know. My only theory is that I'm going to die and then have a realization that my nano book sucks and I'll give up because I'll never be as good as her. Help meeeeee. Another thing people do a ll the time is telling me that Cassie did all this terrible stuff (which I know everything about with the plagiarism stuff and some of her other dramas) and I don't have a personal problem with it. With Colleen Hoover and that stuff I have like an actual moral issue with it and supporting it, but I''m aware of her issues and understand the complaints, but they don't take away from my enjoyment or effect my morals too much. I'm not defending myself and I'm totally open to criticism, I just think a lot of people see me as some stupid kid who blindly follows Cassie and pretends that everyone who dislikes her are just haters. But whatever. It's tea and I'm ready to go write my book and scream because I'll never be as good as Cassie what the frick lol

@@wika2205 wait, I dont blame u for that. That was overwhelming. I got confused with another book. I'm actually still stuck in book 2 but I love it. the trilogy is good. The name thing is annoying because many are similar. The hobbit is beautiful. They read differently because they were written for different people. The hobbit was for his grandkids and LotR was for his grandkids when they grew up or his kids, I forget which.

I mean tbh Tolkien's writing is just from a different time-- back then it wasn't considered bad writing to be SUPER exposition-y and long-winded.
Also, 9:23 can we seriously just have Caleb replace every "chosen one" in ya lit? Like, imagine how awesome that would be :D
And hey, if I spent as long as he did creating a world that origanal and in depth (he pioneered a lot of high fantasy elements still used today)-- I'd spend whole paragraphs explaining it too! :D

Tolkien created a sub genre. His writing is amazing. It's just a lot in one volume. Each LOTR book is made up of at least 3 books. LOTR is not overrated. It's a literary treasure created by a genius who put his every talent into middle earth. He had all these languages and lore and poetry and philosophical insight and he created middle earth as a media to share his awesomeness with the world.
I took such offence to the Tolkien roasts xD

I havent read it yet (and didnt watch it not a fan of watching before reading), but I read the Hobbit 1st and I LOVED it. I don’t understand why one of them said the writing is bad?! Maybe coz I’m not a native eng speaker so to me it was awesome. Though I lowkey regret not listening to my friend when she said read the lotr before the hobbit. I kinda felt like I couldnt get into lotr when I started (I’m still on the 1st chapters)

He could be white because he simply didn't get a specific gene from his father. Tolkien was written in the 30s, its just not modern writing. As someone who reads occult books, its great, but definitely hasn't aged well and DEFINITELY takes a long time to read. Through the LotR series, i definitely had to pick up and read other books in between
