Tengo muy gratos recuerdos de aquella final.El Atleti no ganaba la Copa del Rey desde 1996,año del histórico Doblete de Liga y Copa del Rey y no le ganaba ningún partido al Madrid desde la temporada 1999/2000,el cual no le sirvió de nada porque terminó bajando a Segunda.Aquel día el Atleti mató dos pájaros de un tiro. Vi la final en un bar cercano a la puerta del Sol donde hicieron una quedada para verlo por Facebook seguidores del Atleti creando eventos,me apunté,estuve ahí y lo disfruté en grande.Con el gol de miranda me abracé a seguidores que no conocía de nada pero estábamos en familia.Tras el partido estuve en el ya extinto O'Neill's Irish Pub celebrándolo viendo un concierto y bailando con unas turistas irlandesas.Después cuando cogí el buho para regresar a casa ví cómo estaban desmontando en Cibeles la pasarela que tenían puesta alrededor preparado para que fueran los del Madrid a celebrarlo,pero como perdieron se llevaron una desagradable sorpresa.Al día siguiente,me fui de paseo hasta Neptuno por la mañana a hacerme fotos con la bufanda mientras estaban montando la pasarela para las celebraciones que fueron por la tarde.

I saw it live, and it is one of my top 5 Atletico's matches that I have seen.
As a Madrid fan this shit was memorable for me because it was the last Mourinho match with us and was the typical match against Atletico madrid that the more u punishe them the more they become more dangerous

I don't know but after they lost 2 UCL final against Real Madrid, Atletico seems like return back to their inferiority complex against their crosstown rivals, they having a hard time beating Madrid again since then but nonetheless Madrid Derby was the best derby of the last century, they have met each other on many finals, ranging from local to European levels, this Copa del Rey final, to UCL final twice and also UEFA Super Cup, simply amazing crosstown rivalry that the world of football have never seen before...

Perdiero0n con esta 4 finales de Copa contra el rival de la capital,todas ellas en su estadio.1960,1961,1992 y 2013.
El Atlético y el Real madrid solventaron cómodamente su primera eliminatoria ante el Jaén y el Alcoyano respectivamente. En los octavos de final los rojiblancos noquearon al Getafe en el Calderón. Un penalti cometido sobre Diego Costa lo transformó el propio delantero encarrilando la eliminatoria. En la segunda parte un disparo de Arda Turan al palo fue aprovechado por Filipe Luis. Y ya en la recta final, Diego Costa sentenciaba la contra dejando intrascendente el 0-0 de la vuelta. Por su parte los madridistas sufrieron en su visita a Balaídos.
El Celta comenzó golpeando con un centro de Crondel y rematado a la red por Bermejo. Con los vigueses
lanzados, un tremendo misil de Bustos ponía contra las cuerdas a los de Mourinho. Sin embargo cuando el partido agonizaba, Cristiano Ronaldo salía al rescate de su equipo.
En el Bernabéu un latigazo de CR7 ponía al Madrid en ventaja. El crack blanco estaba enchufadísimo y un pase de Modrič lo aprovechó el luso para hacer el 2-0. Pese a que los merengues se complicaron la eliminatoria con la expulsión de Sergio Ramos, Cristiano Ronaldo disipó las dudas con su tercer gol de la noche. Ya en el último minuto, Khedira se animaba y cerraba la goleada.
El Madrid abriría la llave de los cuartos recibiendo en el Bernabéu al Valencia. Los locales salieron imponiendo un fuerte ritmo y una contra letal fue finalizada por Karim Benzema. El equipo che no se arrugó y tuvo el empate en un remate que Jonas mandó incomprensiblemente fuera. Los blancos castigarían ese error con una acción que acabó en un autogol de Guardado. En los últimos minutos Cristiano pudo matar a la contra, pero el equipo merengue conseguía una buena renta para la vuelta.
En Mestalla un gol de Benzema antes del descanso liquidaba la eliminatoria dejando en anecdótico el posterior tanto de Tino Costa.
En su compromiso de cuartos el equipo de Simeone se mostró infalible ante el Betis. Los colchoneros arrollaron durante la primera parte, y un centro al área de Raúl García lo cabeceó a gol el tigre Falcao. Sin tiempo para la reacción, Filipe Luís marcaba el segundo de un tiro raso y cruzado. Superado el vendaval inicial el Betis se hizo con el control.
Pero todos los ataques verdiblancos se estrellaron contra un inmenso Courtois. En el Villamarín los béticos soñaban con la remontada aunque una indecisión entre Amaya y Casto la aprovechó Diego Costa para marcar a puerta vacía.
Con la eliminatoria ya liquidada, en el último minuto un penalti transformado por Jorge Molina establecía el 1-1 definitivo.
En su camino hacia la final, el Sevilla se presentaba como el último obstaculo para los colchoneros. El Atleti tuvo un gol en un mano a mano de Diego Costa que se marchó rozando al poste y en plena avalancha rojiblanca una incursión de Diego Costa provocó la expulsión de Spahic y el tanto del ariete desde el punto de penalti.
Cuando todo parecía rodado para los locales, Godín vió la roja directa por tocar el balón con la mano y Negredo ajustó cuentas logrando el empate. El Sevillo dió entonces un paso al frente y pudo marcar el segundo, aunque el partido volvió a enloquecer con el tercer penalti esta vez por manos de Fernando Navarro, y nuevamente Diego Costa daba ventaja a su equipo.
Pese a que los hispalenses acabaron con 9 hombres tras la expulsión de Fernando Navarro, el marcador permaneció inalterable dejando todo abierto para la vuelta.
En el segundo asalto en el Ramón Sánchez Pizjuan, un tempranero gol de Diego Costa apagaba el ímpetu local. Los rojiblancos no bajaron la intensidad, y Falcao se adelantó a Botía para poner el 0-2. El Sevilla no se resignó y recortó distancias con un gran gol de Jesús Navas. Tras la reanudación los hispalenses se lanzaron a por todas, aunque el Atlético siempre pudo sentenciar todo a la contra. Con el paso de los minutos los locales se fueron desquiciando, y Gary Medel acabó siendo expulsado tras enredarse con Diego Costa. Los sevillistas acabaron tirando de orgullo e igualaron con un tiro raso de Rakitič,
pero eran los madrileños los que celebraban su pase a la gran final.
En la otra eliminatoria esperaba un intenso clásico del fútbol español.
Espoleados por el Bernabéu el Real Madrid comenzó apretando a los azulgranas, aunque con paciencia el Barça fue tomando el mando y una falta lanzada por Xavi hacía temblar el travesaño. Minutos después, el centrocampista catalán disparaba con todo a favor y su remate lo sacaba Varane bajo palos. Easas ocasiones animaron a los culés y a la salida de vestuarios Cesc Fábregas inauguraba el marcador. El tanto dejo noqueado a los madridistas, y Pedro tuvo una ocasión inmejorable para dar la puntilla, pero el Madrid esperó a su momento, y un cabezazo de Varane le daba vida para la vuelta.
En un Camp Nou a reventar el Barcelona y el Real Madrid buscarían su billete para la final.
Tras un buen arranque del Barça en el que Messi estuvo a punto de marcar, Cristiano Ronaldo acabó siendo derribado por Piqué en el área, y el portugués de penalti incendiaba la eliminatoria. Los blaugranas intentaban la igualada ante un Madrid que esperó su ocasión para fulminar la contra, y en ese momento Di María hizo un nudo a Puyol y su disparo repelido por Pinto llegó a Ronaldo que fusilaba el fondo de la red. En pleno festival madridista, un impecable testarazo de Varane asestaba el golpe definitivo. Los catalanes marcaron el gol de la honra con un tanto de Jordi Alba, pero los msdridistas ya hacía tiempo que se habían asegurado su presencia en la final.
El 17 de Mayo del 2013, Real Madrid y Atlético de Madrid disputaron en el Santiago Bernabéu la final de la Copa del Rey. Los merengues tuvieron un arranque soñado con un tempranero gol de Cristiano.
El Atlético de Madrid no se descompuso, y tras un regate de Falcao el colombiano tiró un pase perfecto a Diego Costa para nivelar la final. El Madrid inició su asedio con un remate a la madera de Özil.
Los blancos se tocaron a corneta y se volcaron con todo, y tras un poste de Benzema, Juanfran sacó bajo palos un gol cantado de Özil.
Instantes después, Cristiano Ronaldo estrellaba el tercer balón madridista en el palo. Superado ese difícil momento los rojiblancos consiguieron aguantar de pie y llevaron el partido a la prórroga. Allí Diego López evitó el tanto de Diego Costa. Pero en el minuto 98, un centro de Koke lo cabezeaba Miranda a las mallas. Con los madridistas a la desesperada, Courtois se vistió de héroe repeliendo un tiro de Higuaín y después agigantándose en un remate a bocajarro de Özil. En los minutos finales el Madrid cayó en la desesperación, y Cristiano Ronaldo acabaría expulsado. La tensión y los nervios se apoderaban de ambos equipos, pero con el pitido final, los rojiblancos explotaban de alegría. En una final para la historia, el Atlético de Madrid puso fin a una racha de 14 años sin ganar a su máximo rival y conquistaba en territorio enemigo su décima Copa del Rey.
