- Ah... GTA IV... Rockstar North surely made a masterpiece open world game back then in 2008. Is it perfect? No. Is it a very good game? Absolutely! But, let's review and analyze the police behavior of the game, shall we? We shall!
I present you the GTA IV: Police Behavior Analysis video. Multiple agencies make appearance in the game so let's find out what they are and when they make appearance.
Grand Theft Auto IV was developed by Rockstar Studios. Released in 2008 to consoles and Microsoft Windows respectively.

GTA 4's police had so much care put into them. Same thing for Watch Dogs' police.
Its sad R* disabled most of the AI for GTA V in favor of having them feel unrealistic as possible, i mean atleast they improved the noose a bit by making them rappel and throw teargas, but regular cops feel so aggressive its bit not fun, they even removed snipers from roofs (there only Prison Tower Guards in Prison but yeah those already spawn on the map without wanted level), i hope GTA 6 brings back some AI features from IV while also having improvements from V, and also they should make trespassing off-limit areas just mark guards and security cameras on your minimap kinda like an online heist, so unless you get spotted by a camera or a cop, then you get wanted (even then, they should move towards you to ask you to leave the area, arrest you or shoot on sight)
Gta 6 better be the best game in the past decade (yes even from 2010 till now, upwards of a few years in the future) or else that will be the biggest disappointment in gaming

@@EvanJefferson1 they were pretty much same as gta 5's ai, apart from a small tweaks to make them be more better than V, like NPCs having a daily routine, lawmen investigating crime scenes, and much more i cant list.
As a fun fact, if the LCPD ever commandeer a Mr. Tasty ice cream van, theyâll use its chimes as if itâs the siren! Itâs quite funny to see one barrelling down the road at full speed with its chimes on full blast when that happens.

Theyâre only in tbogt.
N.O.O.S.E and FIB also have different doctrines when it comes to tactics. This is represented by their vehicles and when they're on foot. N.O.O.S.E teams usually try to surround you but also try to snipe you from a far with there Carbines. They move when you're not looking and hide behind cover alot. FIB teams on the other hand try to outflank you and try to get up close to get maximum damage. They will also run and try to suppress the player into a position. N.O.O.S.E also try to provide a distraction for the regular cops to kill you where as FIB use the cops as a distraction to try and out flank you. The vehicles also represent their type of style as I said above. N.O.O.S.E Enforcer's are heavily armored but are slow and turn poorly. The only person who can fire on you in the Enforcer is the operator in the Front passenger seat in most circumstances when you're not behind the Enforcer. The FIB on the other hand use the highly fast and maneuverable but poorly armored FIB Buffalo. All but the driver can fire on you when in the vehicle. The doctrine of the N.O.O.S.E. is more related for trying to wait you out so the cops can kill you while also providing support. FIB meanwhile tries to go in for the kill with little hesitation adding to the lore that the FIB is just a bunch of men trying to seek the most glory.
Those FIB agents are always trigger happy. We try to be more civil.

funny thing is, whenever cops use civilian cars, they will always be equipped with loudpspeakers

@@VPZealouZ Itâs what the Japanese did in WW2, they would aim their plane at someone or an aircraft carrier and would fly the plane into said object. They would essentially kill themselves as it was seen as honorable, if they didnât go through with it they would be disowned and dishonoured for being a pussy
At certain times, depending on how you're positioned, when you get arrested, an animation of the cop putting handcuffs on Niko will play

11:45 snipers appear in more locations than that one. You can find them all over algonquin (middle island). They are more common in Chinatown and city hall and other important places. Great video btw.
I always replace their models with proper SWAT models so it looks more epic to see swat on the roofs sniping me
@@thegamingvillager2392 idk why rockstar didn't make NOOSE the ones that snipe and atleast give them a prone/crouching position so they are a little harder to kill and spot. regardless they are cool.
@@user-jd9kf8ow2q Noose sniping isnt realistic as i think noose takes offensive approach, LCPD rather takes defensive approach more unlike LSPD.
@@thegamingvillager2392 well yeah your mostly right about that but in GTA 5 during the Blitz Okay you have to kill NOOSE snipers so maybe they have a sniping approach too just like SWAT irl.
@@user-jd9kf8ow2q then maybe police in wanted levels is mostly pursuit based, in blitz play they utlize snipers because its a shootout/standoff/assault.

Actually you can help police when they chase npc by pushing the chased npc, police will thank to you.
Same thing if you help chased npc, npc also thanks to you. But the cost : you get wanted level đđ

It's a bit weird because there is a full animation for handcuffing a suspect, but it's never shown. If you look at clips of the LCPD:FR mod, it uses the base game's handcuffing animation to allow you to handcuff suspects.

I feel that the LCPD in GTA IV is more realistic as they, unlike the LSPD, don't kill you if you just look at them.

The shootout issue is quite weird, because it didn't happen to me.
I always liked to go to Chinatown where the triads are, and start a fist fight, then bring the triad towards another person and they start to fight him. The police see it and try to arrest the triad, but the triad retaliates and starts shooting back at them. The police call for backup and hide behind their own car, shooting back at the triad, as more triads join the fight. Usually about 3 triads. The backup arrives shortly and they defeat the triads.
That happened in more than once instance, so I think that police can call backup, and can fight back.
You are right.
While I'm playing Gta 4, the police are calling backups for NPCs.
But in very rare cases, the police do not call for backup. Presumably the owner of the channel encountered this problem while shooting this video..
10:34 you can get both to spawn and pursue you if you are on the border of 2 different territories. Same applies to cruiser type and officer type (fat/fit). Iâve had it happen before several times.

I need to correct you on something minor.
NOOSE is a combination between SWAT, DHS, and the ATF. Not just the DHS.
Fun fact: The NOOSE agents can carry up to 3 primary weapons and 1 pistol, continuing to shoot the guns out of their hands, they will just run away from the fight and or find cover

GTA 4 cops are clearly the smartest. They use pit maneuvers regularly and they seem to know how to box you in.
hmm, did you include fact that in TBoGT police officers, FIB and NOOSE agents are more aggressive : they start shooting at you from their cars with 4( or higher) star wanted level, while in IV and TLaD they start doing so only if you got 5/6 stars wanted level

Might be because the TBOGT swat is equipped with a P90 which can be used in vehicle since i think its considered an SMG and the NPC have it set as in use in vehicle

The most fun for me in this game is going to the airport to get the annihilator helicopter and just send police cars and officers flying away
and then in GTA5, theyll kill you for doing anything
kinda miss GTA4 cops
just like in san andreas, vice city, and GTA 3. even the slightest bump of a cop car will give you a one star wanted level in those games. only difference is that earning a two star wanted level in those games takes much longer than in GTA 5

Despite its flaws, GTA 4 is still amazing when it comes to attention to details
Very nice! I love GTA 4, as it is more focussed on family than gangs or mafia, allowing me to make an LCPD based fanfic. Regarding Alderney, I had the idea that they cannot afford its own cars and weapons, thus using LCPD equipment
The first and second mafia games were also favorites, based on how the police will fine you for minor things, instead of arresting you as in other games. Speaking of, killergreece I am eager how the police will be in the remake that comes this August

Strange... in my gta 4 of xbox360, it's very normal to see the officer pulling over someone to check and those things. Besides, in my game, the officer don't avoid shooting a npc that is shooting at you, police, and other npcs.

I like another good unpredictable detail - if you have 2 or more stars, if some serious gunfight is taking place with a lots NPCs involved, such as those from EFLC's side missions, cops will actually be dealing with the NPCs instead of player if the latter quietly moves a bit away and won't be "noisy". You might use this situation to lost any heat easily. The more serious gunfight, the more cops are distracted.
Good video there dude and also I love GTA IV's police AI, at least it is less brutal & aggressive than GTA V's police AI XD

It's kinda funny that cops usually take cover from unarmed suspects, but I find when playing usually they eventually make a move and arrest them.

I like how cops are armed with m4 carbines at landmark locations, subways, I think at the hospital in Alderney, around the libertonian, large downtown buildings. Really unique

If you have few stars, you can't escape from cops if you're flying in helicopter, you need to escape from the cops on the ground or bail helicopter (I think)

The wanted radius was perfect. I wish they kept it in GTA V, along with losing them if they can't see you. That was the only downside to the radius in this game. You could sit inside the circle for hours undetected and they won't give up. But in V, police all across Los Santos start hunting you even if the crime you committed was across the city. Mixing the two mechanics would be perfect for GTA VI, and maybe the wanted circle slowly increases with time as if they were predicting where you would flee.
And in gta 4 they actually drive around and look for you where in gta v they automatically know where your at and head straight to you
@@kobra6660 They park their cruiser in the middle of the road and go to your location on foot. That's better than seeing a cruiser entering the alley you're in.

4s losing cops system is way better than gta5 cops just spawn in front of you and they cheat all the time even if your in a building they never seen you enter

In the Alderney Car Dealership called Auto Erotica. If you knock the traffic cones over, you get a wanted level. Have you encountered this before?

You forgot to add that not every officer chases you
Sometimes you see them on the map but their color isn't light blue instead they are then dark blue
I don't know if they are not aware that you are wanted yet or if they didn't accept the call but yeah that's what happens
but the problem still is if the pursuing officers don't see you but a officer who isn't assigned to the chase yet he still can reveal your location if he sees you and doesn't chases you
The Lawmen AI in RDR 2 uses the same mechanics like in this game i.e. you need to leave the wanted zone or else it will go on forever or when they search for you they don't rush to your spot like in GTA 5
The last part I mentioned is actually good
The security guards in gta 5 will also spot you and they don't even show up on the map. It's really annoying.

You forgot something. Have you ever notice when you steal a car and the alarm goes off while a cop passes by. The wanted stars flash and the circle flashes too. But you don't get wanted

Can there be a video of both response times. In GTA4 I can go thru a whole clip without getting cops on me. In GTA5 I run over one person and not even a second later I get cops. Don't forget GTA4 cops drive around in the city.

GTA IV Cops come in all shapes and sizes and are nicer than GTA V Cops
You can outflank them to manoeuvre the car sideways is always rapid in accelerating away from the cops won't chase you anymore.

You can have fun with the police if you take a semi truck in the airport and go almost close to the waterline there is a trail which they spawn at you can ram into the jeeps and the cars
The FIB agents are absolutely lethal when you have 5 stars because everyone except the driver, in the Buffalo car can easily severely damage and kill you. That's because the FIB Buffalo is small,fast and easy to turn but is poorly armoured.
