This car is more than 20 years old and it still look absolutely stunning now.
Lots of old cars look good... Including this one allthough its in no way timeless imo. Looks very 90s/00s to me
Boris Terekidi actually your statement is incorrect. THIS car is from 2001, as he clearly said. So this car specific car is 16 years old.
Boris Terekidi most 90s sports cars and supercars looks good
No way timeless....... the rear end is extremely dated, the 300zx looks more modern than the diablo

Doug really is the type of guy to excitedly honk at a Cyclone while driving a Diablo
Doug the kind of guy who puts milk before the cereal
that ain't too bad
My favorite part of Doug's vids is when he cuts off his passengers' responses to his comments.
vanamburgben hahahah yeah
vanamburgben mine is when he drives with the owner and his hands are never on the wheel. He tries to talk like a 50s Italian mobster with his hands
Because he is italian. DeMuro is an extremely Italian name.
I guess he's doing that because he doesn't want or need that interaction, but he has to have the owner in the car. If the owner must ride with the host, he should just keep his mouth shut! Shut up Diablo owner guy, I don't want to hear what you have to say!
The size of the reverse lights actually has a purpose.
Bigger reverse lights mean better visibility at night when you drive backwards. They kinda act like rear headlights.
HellsJerome87 thanks Ken M
HellsJerome87 that's true now and days cars have some little ass rear back up lights
HellsJerome87 but you can't exactly look behind you in the diablo so....
You don't need to see behind you in a Diablo. When you back up in that car everything else just moves out of your way.
or maybe it's just cause Lambo thought the clear white glass looked better than the orange tint, so they minimized it :3
After almost 20 years I still genuinely appreciate them for making this beautiful car.
some random guy in the background saying, "yeah" after every word, lmfao #CLassic

Random means irrelevant. Hence, love the car, but can give a rat's arse about who owns it.
Passenger really wants to join the conversation
Yeah
That usually is the definition of conversation :)
"Yeah" "yeah" "yeah" 😂😂
I was about to comment on that haha. I get his excitement, but shit, if i had a car good enough to let Doug review I wouldn't ride alone with it cause I know I would keep talking too.
It must be very difficult to nicely tell the car owner, "I'm going to be doing a lot of talking but it's to the camera so I can make my video, so for these parts I'm not actually talking to you so please don't respond." Like, it's the guy's car and you can't really dictate to him what he's going to do in it while he lets Doug drive it. I kind of wish he wasn't saying "yeah" every five seconds though.
Doug tries so hard to keep talking so the owner has no opportunity to butt into Doug's narration... but he sure tries his best.. "yeah, yeah..." 😁
Doug is too nice and passive to tell the owner tonshit the fuck up
Yeah..
Sounded to me like Doug did let the guy talk then in editing they just cut everything out except the occasional yea

Tek Arts typical guy Doug borrows a car from, not a damn thing to say, that guy with the new Ferrari had some good banter though
yea wish he'd stfu! if Doug wanted him in the video he'd point a camera at him..
He said a lot more things but Doug cut off the video when he was talking. Didn't you notice the numerous video edits? Doug needs to learn from Matt Farah and let the owners talk or tell them that he doesn't want them in the video so they know to keep quiet during filming. It is Doug's fault if you ask me
Something about ole Doug here makes me think he likes to stand in front of the mirror naked with just his socks on and pretend to box somebody

i still have my toy model of this from the 90's. my dream car when i was a kid in the 90s
I own a Hot Wheels Final run diablo if that counts :) Still in the packaging of course! Always been a fan of the diablos since i was a kid ! the light purple color was always my favorite color just screams 90s
Grade school in the mid - late 90's we all had a picture of the Diablo somewhere, a folder, a binder or on a notebook. It was the ultimate car.
I had the pics in the early 90s lol
Carl Zimmerman
I'm 19 and this was our dream car, it was still very prominent in the mid 2000.
Yup, I had a poster of the Diablo on the wall, along with a Saleen S7 and 996 Porsche 911 Turbo. Maybe a Ferrari F50 as well.
I wouldn't mind having the 911... As far as Lambos go I think the Gallardo is probably the only one that will ever be in financial reach of the middle class, and my soft spot is for that and the Murcielago. The Diablo never captured my imagination the same way.
Supercars like this in the 90's really stood out because it was before a time when almost all sedans became performance based, if it didnt look fast then it probably wasn't. Now almost everything is fast or handles like a sports car.
Poster of Countach, framed pic of Diablo
Glad your still growing. Always 6 foot 3 but here 6. 4 😂
6'4" before hair cut, 6'3" after
That's a good one
Fun thing about it, most people in the world including me use SI-units and don't have the slightest clue how much 6 foot 3 or even 4 are? ;-)

Doug never ceases to amaze me. I always Sub under different names. Thank you Doug. Been a while since I seen this episode. ✌️
The owner, over and over "yeah" I think he was straight trolling Doug.
Thanks for the video Doug. You shift into reverse by pushing the shift lever down. Not twisting it. The color code is hand written for any custom color. Rosso-Vik is a tri-coat created by Vik Keuylian. At one time the sole importer for Lamborghini USA. He later ran Lamborghini Orange County until the financial crisis of 2008 resulted with him in significant legal troubles (and some pissed off customers!)
coldcomet wait some knowledge in these comments?? What
But Rosso Vik was not a custom color for the Diablo, it had been around for some time. I think someone repainted that hood and used a blank sticker instead. On mine the sticker is fully printed, and it also is for all of the other cars I have looked at. Never seen a handwritten paint label.

It’s so funny watching Doug review these cars I’ve always dreamed of driving. Unfortunately, he also usually makes me really glad I never bought one. Lamborghini’s look great, but I’d never want to pay for one - or drive one on a daily basis either.
the "THISSSS" in the intro wasn't long and strong enough smh
The owner is having a hard time with not being the center of attention lol
"Yea."
Exactly lol. He is having a hard time understanding that doug isn't really talking to him.
It took me 2min to realize that there is a second guy talking.
@@suburbanhobbyist2752 In some sense he is talking to both, he looks over at him sometimes and says something to him.
It is really distracting having that other voice in the background.
That's pretty impressive that this car from the 90s basically has the same specs as supercars from 2017. 550-700hp, 0-60 in 2.5 to 3.5 seconds, that's basically every new supercar 20 years later.
yea but i think the diablo wouldnt feel as fast since i think you can do 60 in first gear
Cars haven't changed much at all. They've just been riddled with electronics and 'entertainment systems' and bullshit that doesn't belong in a car, in order to say 'ALL NEW' to mindless consumers. Meanwhile, the underpinnings are still just normal cars, neutered and bland thanks to electric inputs/outputs.
That is why you'll find alot of true automotive enthusiasts love cars from the 90's. The cars were being built as well as the manufacturer knew how to do, even regular economy cars, which resulted in legendary cars that are still amazing to this day. Then post 2000, the businessmen in suits came into the equation with suitcases full of predetermined obsolescence, the engineers were sent to the back room along with the quality vehicles people came to expect.
i wish they would made a modern versions of diablo or countach, with all the carbon fiber and what not, designs were unmatched
@@panpaletkalg2550 It looks like part of your wishes came true.
That “THIS” didn’t feel right to me...

This Diablo is perhaps the most beautiful car you've reviewed so far.
The Diablo was involved in most pre-underground Need For Speed titles since the very first installment for 3DO, PC, Sony PlayStation, etc, and also returned in more recent titles after being succeeded by the Murcielago and Gallardo. The SV model from Need for Speed 3: Hot Pursuit and Need for Speed High Stakes/Road Challenge was my favorite.
Yea i think this and murcielago is the most famous car for race gamers

The proximity of Doug's watch to the car's paint in several scenes makes me uncomfortable.
He does that all the time and it pisses me off. If I had a million dollar car, he's the last person I would let show it off. It takes seconds to take off a watch for shit sake!
Anonymous5211987 right? I work at an auto parts store and we have to wear a belt and have our shirts tucked in, but if I change wipers or something I always untuck my shirt so my belt won't rub the paint.

Considering Lamborghini's long relationship with Alpine electronics, I would wager that's an Alpine alarm fob. I installed many of those as a teenager, and that fob looks exactly like I remember (with the addition of some metal cladding).

I’ve always owed 300zx cars and always thought this looking at pics. I figured Nissan just copied the look from Lamborghini until I saw a real Diablo at a dealership and saw the carbon eyelid. I knew right away it was a Nissan light. Pretty crazy fact and like the 300zx even cooler.

My 2 door car has wide windows and the frame that seperates the wind shield from door windows is pretty small so visibility is crazy. Seats are comfy and not bulky so looking in blind spots is very easy. My moms car has no visibility, seats seem like they are to the roof and it seems like guess work when looking in blind spots. Very underrated aspect of driving a car
Great video!!!👍👍
6:45 the keyring on the middle section is actually sort of smart, because the ignition lock is a central point of failure by wearing out because ppl thend to have a lot of weight in form of keychains and that is stressing the lock. Having the keyring centered minimizes the impact of the keychain things on the ignition lock mechanics. never seen that either before - very interesting :-)
