- The first aluminum iMac ever, introduced by Steve Jobs at the Special Event in August 2007.
Although Steve Jobs advertizes the new 20" iMac being 300 dollars cheaper than its predecessor, he unfortunately doesn't tell us that the new 20" iMac uses a cheap TN panel, compared to the better and more expensive S-IPS model in the white 20" iMac. - Věda a technologie
Without a doubt, Steve Jobs was the best at presenting. Miss him
I remember being an 8 year old and watching tips the day it came out... My eyes were glued... Couldn't believe how beautiful those computers were...
Only a couple of months after the iPhone announcement and Steve looks noticeably thinner here. It breaks my heart seeing how he declined from late 2007-11. I'll miss him enormously, however he left a great team at Apple.
Omg no way i luv scream queens too
He became diagnosed with cancer since 2003. He tried to get it treated but he died nevertheless.
@@t_q1799Misinformation he ignored it believing if he ignored it enough he could just power through it, he did it all for Apple. He went out fighting.
My first Imac! I still have it and it works just fine.
+Jesse “Day dreamer” Livingrooms Same :)
Same
Still good in 2018?
I am looking to get one of the newer iMacs soon possibly a 21 inch. I use a mac mini from 2012 lol.
My First Mac was also this 2007 iMac
he actually cares about price
lol.... you're really saying that about Steve Jobs? Take off the rose tinted glasses.
joeylantis22 so the iphone 3G, 3GS, 4, 4s, 5, 5s and basically everything else jobs worked on in terms of iPhones was sold beginning at $199. Then the iPhone 7 came out and they charged like $650 for it.
650 because that was the price without a contract.
At leaat he wasn't trying to sell you a stand for $999...
Алексей Гриднев I swear to God if someone makes that joke again ima flip my shit. Sony sells a very similar monitor for 26,000 dollars. Apple sells you that monitor for 5,000 dollars plus 1,000 which equals 6,000. 26,000 can 6,000 HMMMMMMM
lol the keyboard I'm using is basically the same one as they introduced in this video, 8 years ago
0:21 Legacy Nokia phone startup sound in the background! :D
I've always loved the classic mac ad music, brings back memories when I was 9 back in 07 I saw that ad on tv, the music always stuck with me
I have a 2008 20 inch IMac I bought for $299.00 from ebay, best computer I ever got.
It's almost blasphemous that they're so quiet
I own both a 2006 and a 2009 iMac ( it’s the 20 inch education model so technically a 2007 iMac with an upgraded processor) and the 2006 is very very quiet to the point where if you’re in a quiet room you can just barely hear the fan run but the 2009 is dead silent. I’ve never heard it make a sound when running.
@@ChristmasMorning1995I was referring to the dead crowd
@@McGomezAddams I thought u meant the computers lol
"and we are lowering the price" words that won't be said ever again by Apple these days
And Apple actually said it more than one time.
Crazy how technology has advanced.
"1GB of Ram"
lol!
And you will look back in 10 years and think the same thing about today's technology. And we will probably still be doing basically the same things with computers...
as far as I remember most PCs had 2GB in that area already
You can put 6gb of ram in these iMacs and they still work pretty good!! With El Capitan. Says enough about the quality of these products and the efficiency of the OS.
@@lambert1702 Not exactly as the rate of change has slowed down somewhat in recent years. Look back in 20 years and you'll see a huge difference though.
Now we have 1.5TB of RAM.
Watching this on my 2007 iMac during the COVID-19 Pandemic. (29/08/2020)
What an amazing person he was! A true inspiration for sure! Miss him so much 🖤😮💨
My in laws have this 24 inch iMac. Only last month have we not been able to upgrade it to the latest operating system. It still runs everything that they need. This includes Photoshop, Citrix and even CZcams! Almost 10 years out of an all in one. Pretty cool
haha i have 2 of these, one downstairs, & the better one on the kitchen table, where i play SimCity & Wolfenstein lol
Tey use mac os x (version you want) parcher for usuported machines
Front facing cam? He basically created some type of FaceTime in 07 this man is just dope he makes things make sense
That was already old on Mac’s. Apple called them iSight Camera back in the day
Watching this in 2013 on my 20" 2.4GHz. 3GB and Mavericks. Runs great!
I still use my 2007/08 imac as my main computer... never missed a beat!!
Tough crowd
9 years later.... Hmm Now we are using the IPAD,IPHONE,IMAC,MACBOOK AIR,MACBOOK PRO,IPAD MINI AND MORE WELL THAT TURNED INTO A MEMORY FOR THE OLD APPLE USERS... THANKS STEVE
Watching this after Apple launched the M1 iMac
They still look up to date.
My first mac was the iMac 2007. Love it.
my family's first mac. we just ordered one the new imacs. we love it.
@@shyzxed9388 tf
Typing on mine as we speak. Still going strong and still does what it should flawlessly. Just an amazing computer. If only they'd kept it going that way.
2007: "Our customers told us that they love our glossy displays"
2019 (Pro Display XDR): "wanna pay 400$ extra for a nanotexture coating to make the display less glossy?"
The first Mac I used was the G3 iMac... The second was the G5 iSight.... But my first Mac to own was THIS one. The lowest end one they show here, but still GREAT.
I wish the iMac got love in the same way now because it’s really one of the best ideas they had
Im using that computer right now and it's still pretty good after 5,5 years. It's better than most of 3-year old PCs.
I was 5 when then came out, I remember seeing my parents having one
I'm watching this in 2013 on the 20". I run Mountain Lion with 3GB or Ram. I get a Geekbench score of 2004. Not exactly a speed demon but it runs everything well: Photoshop, Illustrator, iMovie, etc. With Leopard I had a few crashes, but now it's running better than ever. Mountain Lion is a great OS. The DVD RW did break, so I opened up the iMac, pulled the drive out and got an external for $30. One repair in 5 years. Not bad.
have it- 2.4ghz 3gb ram 20" and i love it a lot.
The Alt Shift will work with long Press On F1-10 like for Logic Pto where every Button do differnt Functions. Tim.
I had one of those. But my family didn’t know about the iPhone yet.
I still use my early 2008 imac with ssd and 6gig of ram using catalina, in 2020, and not upgrading for another 5 yrs at least!
it looks much better now.
1:00 - current MacBook Pro
JonnyInfinite no
Apple1984 yes
steve would have never let this happen.
JonnyInfinite lol true
JonnyInfinite 也
Awesome!
i love you steve. you will be missed.
It still works
Look at that clean and differentiated lineup. Steve hasn't been dead for 7 years, little Timmy has already flushed a lot of that legacy down the toilet.
I picked up an early 2008 iMac today for £30! I'm going to get 6GB of RAM in there and a 500GB SSD. Job done!
Happy Birthday
R.I.P Steve
And I’m watching this on my $50 24” iMac 😂😂
I want one

+Dominic London That's how Americans pronounce it.
GOBELDYGOOK I bet it took you long to come up with that clever joke.
silly english, thinking they know how to speak english. right, mum?
sadly, yes, it did take him long ;-)
Speaker Sex
haha i have 2 in my basement. One for old games, & 1 that i want to trade for a new one, if i can
Jobs makes sure that the prices set can reach the masses
So cool
Of course, put the audio output on the back, damn, these short headphone cables will love you
Le Docteur if it can reach your pocket then it can reach the back of your computer
it's still a bit awkward
Bluetooth.
Le Docteur true
love the way he says - heres the new one - SILENCE!
This was a press announcement, so mostly journalists are in the audience, who tend to be quiet and "objective." In the big events, the people who cheer are usually Apple employees like, sales people, and friend of employees.
I just got one of these 2007 iMacs for cheap and I love it. Hard to beat for what I paid for it lol. Compliments well with my 2012 Macbook Pro 13.
Jesse Brooks unless you got it for free; you overpaid. These are laying around by the bunch on recycling centers, fully working.
Josh H. Really? Damn I need to get one , any tips?
Oh I miss Steve
Weve had the same design for 10 years now
That's the definition of good design, it doesn't age.
What else can you do? A glass back?
I can imagine one day it will literally be a 5mm thick sheet of glass with the aluminium stand and that’s it the entire iMac is just 5mm all over Face ID curved corners on the display no chin could have a 4mm bezel all the way around
They should revive the iMac G4 "Lamp" design. It was beautiful
I'm watching this video on that iMac (:
Geeze the bezels look smaller on this iMac than they do on new ones!
i love apple
Steve Jobs
the movie is so good to me
no to muck sex to me and my sister must have sed that i didn't like the movie
this is the time when apple transitioned into their black and silver looking products. and i love it so far!
The first Mac I used was the original from 1984. I grew up using it, and even back then I laughed in my diapers at people who were scared of Macs cos they thought they might be too complicated or something. I shook my rattle and laughed I tell you!
I'm going to miss Steve saying "Screamer"
great
My first *real* Mac, it was incredible. Technically my first Mac was the 1999 iMac G3, however considering I got that in 2008 that doesn't really count :)
There's already a 24 inch model in 2021 "We made it an *expansive* 24 inches." Back in the day there was already a 24 inch model.
Basically, better graphics, faster memory and a bigger hard drive :) ... skip to 08:30 and you'll see the difference between the two on the comparison table. Hope this helps.
Reason they put up with it is you can upgrade... Cheaper. Everytime you buy an image you have to re buy a monitor you don't need
I still use this model 20 inch 2.4 ghz 4 Gb ram I put a terabyte hard drive in it plus I'm running a dual boot system windows 7 ultimate and mountain lion .
This is 9 years after the colorful G3 iMac came out.
I still use this iMac as my daily computer, The only thing ive upgraded was the ram. Apple sure knows how to make a good, reliable computer. I love it!
Damn I remember when this design was new..
Pop it out ...just take out 1 screw and just add memory...wow just wow....
This was my first Apple product.. then I switched to a 2010 MacBook Pro. Now I’m 2022 I don’t even have any computer nor a tablet, just my iPhone 13 “pro” max (I think the industry needs to retire the word “pro) and I’m probably gonna finally get a new iMac later this year
I have a 2010 IMacm Best computer ever!!
Salty Salts i have an macbook pro 2013 and they're pretty good but this is not my main computer.
My main computer is a Gaming PC. i love both my mac and my pc!
Mac vs PC? I'm on both sides! :D
Wolfman099plays I currently own a macbook (Unibody) 13" model, and a MSI GE60 gaming pc same boat bro
Mathieu Friolet Nice :)
+Wolfman099plays People don't believe me when I say both are fantastic. I have a Early 2014 MacBook Air 11" and an Asus laptop so there is no doubt that I am on both sides since I use both every single day.
Back in the days when 4 GB of Ram and 1 TB of storage had been so much.
0:57 was pretty funny indeed! But the answer to the question he gave himself at 7:22 $_$
He said 'iSight camera'. Dude. This is crazy.
I hate pre-recorded crap on today's Apple events. They destroyed Steve's tradition of Apple.
back when Apple products were reasonably priced
I miss Steve jobs
People not even clap 🙄
Its not the same as Macworld or WWDC. This is a simple press conference with boring journalists at apples headquarter
But they did. At the end of the ad.
6:46 1TB Hard Drives were really a lot back then 😂 today it's like the standard for most computers!
3:58 If they could in 2007 they definitley can add memory expansion slots today... and not get stuck with 8gb of memory...
Still don't know why in 21.5 500gb hard drive instead 1tb
Meanwhile another company was still going for the Big Mac.
How do you improve a computer? Change what it's made out of from plastic to a beer can.
Wonder what he would think of the MacBooks right now ... :(
Wait why was the mouse in the left side..???
i am watching this video on that very imac
I'm from Chile i can't do that the customs house's price will be amazingly high
At least the price tag includes a stand in 2007
Heat on the outside comes from where? Sure in some cases, exterior heat caused by the internals is better... But when your macbook pro gets hot enough that touching the palm rest becomes uncomfortable, to an end user it is a bad thing.
And yes, palm rest.
That was literally a simple Power Point 😂 Nowadays they spend 40 million dollars for a Keynote
3:10 Once the people were screaming when the new iMac Design came out. now they look all the same...
1:00 pretty sure if you spent like 2 mins cable managing that, it would look 10x better. And what i see in that picture, is freedom. Should anything in that image fail, it can easily be replaced, even if anything internal fails. PCs, Especially custom built ones, give you the freedom to open it up, and replace any defective parts. Can you easily do that with an iMac? No, you can't. That's a deal breaker.
Shop it online. Starting from $1299 :))
0:55 i still have this very computer
Hi Steve, I come from the future telling you that Apple will be selling the Mac Pro stand for $999.
*pro display* stand
If Apple prices the monitor with stand at $5999 instead $4999 without the stand, will you still complain?
Steve Jobs my boi :')
